We are adding Halloween photos received to the blog today. Hope you enjoy. Last night we had Cooper and Griffin. Today all the posts will go in this entry. Look below to see Coopers and Griffins as well. They are worth the look.

Tips for Halloween

-No tricks, no treats: That bowl of candy is for trick-or-treaters, not for your havanese. Chocolate in all forms especially dark or baking chocolate can be very dangerous. Candies containing the artificial sweetener xylitol can also cause problems. If you do suspect your havanese has ingested something toxic, please call your veterinarian or vet emerg. You can also call us if confused if this is an emergency.

-Popular Halloween plants such as pumpkins and decorative corn are considered to be relatively nontoxic, but they can produce stomach upset in your havanese who nibble on them. We have solutions for tummy upsets. Please send mail or call if this happens to you.

-A carved pumpkin certainly is festive, but do exercise caution if you choose to add a candle. Your Havanese can easily knock a lit pumpkin over and cause a fire.

-Not all havanese appreciate costumes but some love them. Be sure costumes allow eye sight and it is not restrictive in an uncomfortable way.

-Trick or Treaters costumes may frighten your havanese. You may want to put your havanese away in another part of the house.

-When opening your door be aware that your havanese may dart out as they are frightened. Restrict access to the door as a safety precaution, please. It may mean life or death. Do not take this lightly.
