Wet and More Wet

Messy times with rain gallery.

Harlow and Willow are becoming the best of pals. Usually Harlow prefers Ella but lately everywhere Willow goes, Harlow goes. It is interesting how relationships change and will she snuggle with Ella? Time will tell. I think she loves them both!

It is wet outside and our floors reflect it and so do the dogs. I started brushing out and 10 minutes later it looked like I never touched them. That is because it truly is wet outdoors just in time for Halloween.

We will be keeping our lights out as it is just too crazy to have the door be revolving with dogs barking. That is our excuse. It is just too stress-filled with dogs and costumes on kids to not be proactive.

Also, if you are participating, block them from exciting out of the home. You do not want a tragedy.

First Halloween at the new house and Bailey is doing wonderfully.

She is calm and not hiding. Barks a bit when the doorbell goes off but settles quickly, stays in the house, and doesn't growl/bark at the children. She is a good girl.

We might be bad but ours love Halloween, they love visitors. We have them trained years ago about waiting at the door to say hello to the kids and the kids know them as well. No fear ever, neither of them and anyway the front porch is really small, they wouldn't be able to go pass the kids. I've taught them to stay on the porch, and they truly do, 'PORCH,' and there they stay. Eventually they get tired and find a place to sleep.
If they didn't behave, I wouldn't have them greeting.

For us it is different. It is not doable with boarders and our own. There are too many variables. 2 - yes but for dogs like Harlow, we need to keep her calm not expose her to costumes and noise and silliness. It really is important to assess and do what is right for your own. I am glad it is a good experience for your 2 and for you!

Pippas Bailey and Nafas and Kandoo also enjoyed the holiday. I am sure there are more. Here, it was a dark night on purpose as that is what was right for us.
