Photos Arrived

Thanks to everyone that came. Seeing we had a few that couldn't we will have to do this again soon.

Biggie is not so little anymore and such a fun character. Laci as usual seemed to be able to handle him. They were best pals here so they resumed their relationship but they all knew each other, played up a storm and we even had Scruffy from Teaser's litter show up (yes we invited and he is in Shady's class) so great fun.

Moms knew the pups and relished the fun of them. Both Wasabi and Abigail was delighted even though Abigail only had one pup here the beauty of having two at the same time is they think of both as theirs.

They all had a good time and it was great to see Colby more relaxed. Colby is Brie's brother now. Colby didn't come from us and was a tad shy his first visit but today he is much better. I think Brie has been a great match for him. I am so glad. I thought it was the perfect match.

Magic an earlier Wasabi showed up with a short do that Helen does herself as she attempts to learn grooming, I assume and Oreo from a Paula litter. It's not bad Helen but I almost want to even him out. hahahaha

It's a complete zoo here. But I am working on photos and a video later. Photos are coming first.

Thanks again for coming!

Thanks Darlah & Nathan for having us today & and to the others for letting us crash the party. It was a real treat for Roger and me and especially for the Scruffster. He felt right at home with these pups as he's not too much bigger than them. It was so sweet to see the pups at that age.....they grow so quickly! Scruffs was that small once and it was nice to remember how little he felt in my arms. I miss it :-(
But no complaints, he's a sweet little momma's boy and continues to bring us lots of love and happiness :)
We are looking forward to seeing everyone again at he picnic

Thanks for having us :) Lucy slept the whole car ride home and as soon as she got through the door, she plopped herself down in her favourite spot and fell asleep! She had so much fun seeing her brothers and sisters again.. you could tell by the look on Lucy's face that she was having a great time. Thanks again ;)

Photos to come. Thanks, Tony, Sarah, Lucy, Roger, Lori and Scruffy! I do believe they all had fun and that does my heart good!

My thanks go to you and Nathan for welcoming us back w/ open arms! It's so good of you to do this, as I know it's great for socialization and also good for the hearts of all! I couldn't help but think Laci loved seeing her canine Mommy and that it made Miss Abigail's day as well. I never really thought about it until now, but both litters really are half siblings to one another, so no wonder they relate!

Darlah, after our conversation re baths, when I brought Laci in, I filled up a rubber basin within the laundry tub, squirted shampoo into the running water and Laci got yet another bath up past her belly. It was easier that way and quite effective. The rest was cloth washing. She now looks . . . well, almost as good as when you did her yesterday! :-) After a light lunch, Laci is now sleeping off her morning of fun and play too.

Thx again. Wonderful being able to chat w/ most of the Wasabi crew and finally being able to meet Lori and the Scruffster! Delightful!!!

Debi: Just remember only good quality shampoo and conditioner like I gave you if you bathe often as it can dry their skin out. I tend to comb them out fully after wet while they are under dryers and then I constantly brush them as they are drying. I also find sometimes it's just easier washing depending on the dog. You really need to get a sprayer as it will make your life easier in a big way. I know Doug can get the hose and ends at Home Depot I think. I can ask Alex (a friend) where he got his parts to make his.

May 5, 2012 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Thx Darlah, that would be great re info on the hose! I was surprised how quickly Laci's hair air dried. I didn't blow dry as she wanted to sleep, but I did brush and comb and after her nap she is totally dry and looking good. I wondered if her hair may looked crimped having slept w/ it damp, but it didn't. Yes, I must be careful about the amount of washings, even tho I rinse well afterwards . . . usually I just water rinse only, to get sand and mud out, but she was a tad soiled from her day of romping around, especially w/ one particular boy! LOL (Biggie! Did you hear that?) :-)

I just found this one online - doesn't look bad. I like mine better but may be a possibility - has 3 spray settings. - It works like this:

May 5, 2012 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Thx Darlah, If I'm going to get a hose, I want one that is good. Appealing to have different spray settings, as water rinses would be more effective and as you said, caution to not dry out the skin and coat w/ excessive shampooing. Will check it out. I have a few things to order . . . I have only used your shampoo and I like the lovely fresh, but light scent.

Hi Darlah
Thanks again for having us. It was great to see the dogs again and great for Colby. I do think he is coming along nicely. I wish I had a group to see and visit here in Barre. We will be going out more, now that Brie has her second set of shots. That is OK right? Both Brie and Colby slept well this afternoon. Brie slept in the car. Colby never sleeps in the car. I did put photos taken on Facebook and PhotoBucket. Thanks again. :-). Brie smile-- :-{)

i don't know about the rest of you but i love going to nathan and darlah's. its kinda like i love going by the hospital where i had my babies! thanks so much for a great together. shady had the time of his life. not only did he need 2 servings for lunch, even after all the benny bullies at puppy school (our vet told me to give him more food if he finishes it before the 10 minutes....i'm sure you'll have something to say about that?!) but when we went for an afternoon walk with the kids, shady ended up sleeping in the basket under our stroller instead of walking. hope we can all get together again soon, the dogs love it and so do i!

Beautiful pics of the pups in play ... they sure had a grand time by the looks of things ..... what can be better than that!??

Nathan and Darlah, thanks so much for hosting. Ossi and I had a blast. Between your party, our street party, and a walk at the beach, we had one tuckered out wee man last night. My big boys are sorry they missed it, but are hoping to see everyone next time.

Wonderful photos Darlah! They allowed me a peek at the reunion from the Moms and Puppies perspective. Lovely to see them all having such fun. Some photos made me laugh, while others were quite touching. It really is great for them to have the opportunity to get together every once in a while. Laci says thanks to Mama Darlah and Daddy Nathan. :-)

Alene: Well you asked - just watch if he starts getting to be a chunky monkey. It sounds like you had a big day so I am sure he burnt off a lot of food. It also sounds like a fun day. Perfect in the basket - now did you get a photo of that? That would have been so cute!

Madeleine: It was a pleasure to see the Ossi and all of the pups and humans. Ossi appears to be a 'happy, happy' boy - rather content. It's wonderful to see the human Moms and Dad's with their pups. It was great to spend time with the Ossi. A street party sounds fun. They don't do that here. A beach walk sounds fabulous. I envy living so close.

Debi: Glad you enjoyed the day and did Laci snooze when she went home? I bet you Biggie was tuckered out. So funny those two and loved seeing Biggie in mom's arms so totally in love and relaxed then put him down and he had things to do and places to be. hahahaha

Scruffy, I am glad you came. You fit in so nicely and I an ever so glad you have Shady in your class and only 5 dogs. Nice small class with lots of attention and enough exposure. Maybe we will have to come out for graduation night to smile at the fun.

Darlah - Laci slept all the way home. She ate a normal lunch and back to sleep. Envy her energy b/c after her nap, she was up and raring to go for the rest of the day, as per usual! She's been a little naughty girl this morning . . . went and pooed on the middle of the pool cover. Thinks she knows Mom can't get to her there! Doug's gone out to get some Nok Off. Does that just kill germs or keep animals away as well?

Jane - what was the name of the product you said you use that keeps the raccoons away? If I get a hold of that, it will be sprayed on top of our entire fence. That seems to be their bathroom, which isn't too bad since Laci can't get up there, but they also use places that give me concerns for Laci. I have to inspect the yard every single morning!!! Grrrr.

May 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDebi

Jane uses Nok Off.

One year Nathan slept outside with Terra then a few days later, Risa, then Wasabi and Shoshi. We had a skunk issue. It was some summer but once the dogs rub up against your wall you have that smell for eons. So we put up walls on our gazebo and we put out a futon bed and placed up netting to keep bugs out and two weeks he was camping out. I haven't seen them in years now nor do I see the rabbits we once had. The raccoons have moved on too. Even the fox I used to see has moved on.

Critter Ridder (think that is what it is called) seems to work well on fences etc till it rains.

Cleaning a pool cover.....sigh...

May 6, 2012 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Darlah - W/ yours and Nathan's help, I just ordered the sprayer hose and Benefect from Rens - bonus - free shipping! Doug's got the Critter Ridder. Now all I have to do is get him to sleep outside, but I'm not letting him have Laci! Thx for the tip!!! Get rid of the coons and Doug all in one swoop. LOL

Darlah, Scruffs had puppy class, your reunion, and then Daniel's 3rd birthday where he played with Daisy as well. He was absolutely pooped when he got home! But honestly, so were we! He has been napping all morning, skipped breakfast to nap some more, ate half his lunch to nap some more, and is still napping :-)
Clearly, he takes after his momma bear as I've been napping a lot too! Roger is vacuuming (god bless him!), I'm procrastinating doing my work, and Scruffs is still sleeping beside me.
He wants everyone to know he had a great time and had lots of fun with all the other puppies. He also wants you to know he loves you lots! (and Nathan too!)
He lights up whenever he sees you and always wants your attention......did you notice that? It's so sweet!!!!

May 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLori

Yes, the Scruffs is a special guy. :-)

May 6, 2012 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Debi- My Mom just gave me a tip that you can order fox urine online (strange but true), and that is very effective. We have also used Critter Ridder, and found it to be quite effective, but the sprays that deal with the enzymes seem to work the best with the smell left when the raccoons poo on the deck. Love the urban lifestyle!!

May 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMadeleine

Madeleine - Thx so much for the tip! I will google the fox urine and order as I want to get rid of these raccoons! I guess now that I'm older, I know to be a little more careful than I was when I was very young. W/ our 1st dog Tiffany, one night I saw 4 shining eyes looking at me thru our screened in door. Then found it was both Tiffany and a raccoon on hind legs peering in. Now that's a little scary, but back then, I thought it was quite cute and funny!
Good point! The enzymes is what will keep both Laci and the wild from attraction to past spots.
