Into the Cave

I put the Abigail crew into this cave bed and they loved it.

Cave beds are great fun for young and the older set. They all appreciate them. Best place to get the cheapest beds are at the All About Pet Show coming the 1st week of April. I just hope I can go but it depends on Treasure's due date. :-)

What can I say about this crew. They are moving all around the whelping box finding their way to Mommy Abigail, eating, sleeping and looking adorable.

Life is good!

They are looking more like puppies every day. I can hardly wait for their eyes to open. Are Truffie and Phantom coppers like this little girl?

Phantom and Truffie have chocolate not copper in them. Copper is in Abigail's line. Yes, they are looking like cuties and I too can't wait till eyes are wide open.

I wondered. In some of the photos of the puppies being born, I could see more copper in Abigail's tail than I had noticed before, so yes, I can now see where it comes from.

Abigail is an apricot sable. It means she has different coloured hair combined which means she is a sable. You can be an apricot sable, a brown sable etc.

With her hair she goes from dark to light to dark again in various spots. Her hair seems to change and Fiona's does as well to a lesser degree. Treasure is also an apricot sable but always darker than both Abigail and Fiona but she too lightens and darkens. It's actually quite nice as its a continual change.

By the way, one of Teaser's pups is a tri-colour. You couldn't tell till just this past week or so. Tri-colours have those eye brows of colour and 3 colours. Sometimes you get surprises and that's nice!

The two blacks of Abigails look black these days except in the light with the sun shining in where they have a brown overtone. We will have to wait to see what that turns out to be and we may not even know till after they are at their forever homes for months and months if they end up being havana browns.

Wasabi's brown looks black at times but you can clearly see he is a brown sable. Is he a chocolate, don't know yet. :-)

Wasabi's black and white half mustache pup has the most perfect angelic face - hard to explain but I look at the pups closely and it is all subjective. The littlest one of Wasabi's has the most perfect markings and is a short in body fattie. He will probably remain small. As Wasabi's grows they are quite attractive.

I love watching the changes. Pups as they grow come into their own.

Thank you for explaining all the different colours/variations. I love learning about this breed and yes, all the different colourings make them more interesting and to know it can continue throughout their lives. I guess w/ the brown sable you are excited for their eyes to open because they can tend to be amber or green. If that's right . . . I read it somewhere???
