I thought about giving Hallie a short haircut but I decided not to. You see, Hallie is a physical dog. She lets her pups chew her hair and make a mess of her so I may give her one after her pups have departed. Both are excellent moms and that is an understatement. They adore the babies. Hallie is just a dog that thinks puppies crawling through her hair and munching on her is what motherhood is all about. She also usually has more pups that Nami has. We will find out if it is true this time after xrays.
Hallie wiggles her entire body when she is happy, Nami wags her tail when she is happy. Hallie is just a very happy dog always. Another dog jumps on her and she says - okay let's play. She never sees it as anything more than fun.
She is 4 to 7 days behind Nami but seriously it is hard to tell as it all depends on the day they ovulate and you have an idea but it is not an exact science.
We will wait for labour, not eating, vomiting and nesting and possibly agitated and then we know soon. We also check temps to get an idea.
Hallie has a longer body. Nami has a shorter body. Sizing and numbers play a part but you get surprises.
We are not done with Hallie's whelping area. I am hoping to have it done by tomorrow morning. I should get it done tonight but I still have 2 dogs to groom. So, we shall see.
The heating lamp, towels, camera all in place but the supplies will move from one pen to the next after Nami gives birth but the rest will be in place.
Lots to do. But exciting times are coming.
