6 Week Visit

The Adele pups were everywhere and for some reason none but 1 hit the pad. That is highly unusual as they do use their pad in their pen and in the hallway play but add so many people, where are the pads and it can get tricky. It tells me we need to take them out in the kitchen for play. They are still young.

You can find the gallery on the Jeannie blog as I put them both together.

If you do not read the Jeannie blog, we will see you on December 23rd at 3pm. These pups will also be going for their 8 week checkup with the vet on December 22nd.

These pups will start going home on the 5th and Jeannies starting on the 12th. So, if you have a date you want, please send mail to Nathan.

Be sure to check out the videos. I am still in the midst of uploading.

First Bath at 6 Weeks

Well some loved it, some tolerated and some went what the hey. All and all they did rather well.

Here is the gallery.

I have to laugh at the sable and white gal sticking her tongue out. Now to keep them clean for their human visit tomorrow.

It was a long day. I still have dogs to comb out - really at 821pm. I am still uploading videos and galleries.

They had their first time upstairs last night and actually slept most of the night despite them not knowing what was going on and was so excited to see Nathan when he came to get them. I didn't catch it on video as I was weighing Leti pups. <sigh>

Here is a gallery of the 2 litters.

We have to get ready for the Adele pups going upstairs to sleep for the 2nd time. So, I best get the rest of the blogs done. lol

Be sure to check out the videos.

First Time Upstairs

Pups went upstairs last night. They were not happy about the xpen upstairs. But they settled in, slept for the most part and was excited to come downstairs.

Upstairs Gallery

Be sure to check out the videos.

No photo here but bath photos later today as we start the bathing marathon. Each puppy takes 20 to 25 minutes from wash, photos to dry. Do the math. I have 7 to do.

i also have regular grooming and a dematting. I may have toothpick on my eyes come tomorrow. :-)

Almost 6 Weeks Old

Here we come... almost 6 weeks and balls of fun. We know how to play. Interesting enough if you look at the girl in yesterday's blog, that face goes back to our Ms. Abigail. It's interesting to see. Abigail is Adele's mom.

Check out today's gallery with both litters.

The pups will have a bath tomorrow. As I type they are heading back upstairs. They now go out about 3 times.

Then on sunday they have their humans come to visit!

They do have a date for their vet check, microchip and vaccinations. They will be going on December 22nd. Starting the 5th of January they will be heading to their new home. The Leti pups will be just over 4 weeks by then and starting the active stage.

5 Weeks 5 Days Old

A mask on a dog is a darkened area, often on the face, from where it gets its name. Masks only occur on dogs that have eumelanin(dark) in their coats. It can occur with solid dark colours, dark patterned dark coats and also with mixed dark/light coats. A mask will not be obvious on a dog that is otherwise solidly dark coloured although it may be present. Masks are most noticeable on sable and brindle dogs. The presence or absence of a mask is dependent on the E gene where [ E m ] gives a mask and [ E ] does not. A mask, if present, can range from a simple darkened muzzle to a raccoon-type eye mask to a full dark face extending into the ears. A dark dorsal stripe is common and some masked dogs also have a dark tail and dark paws.

Adele and her mom and grandmom always threw masks. Adele herself had a mask much like the boy above. Her masks usually end up fading away or appearing as tipping until it is cut or breaks off. In rare cases she has had one remain. You will know if the pups here will retain their masks about the 8 week stage. How will you know? When you look at the roots of the hair, you will be able to tell.

I always hope that they remain like the boy on top. The girls on the bottom is very light and hers will go to tipping for sure. His is not long enough to tell yet.

Here is the gallery today. This is a gallery containing both litters. Sorry - takes me more time to do individual ones but when I get time I will.

Pups are now eating solid softened food. Mom is actually trying to limit the amount of times she feeds. I may take her to bed with me tonight. We shall see. For the most part Dennis says these pups tend to sleep mostly.

They now have a ton of teeth. They are real characters!

Be sure to check out the videos. Still celebrating that I have my speed back on the net especially with 3 litters.

5 Weeks 4 Days Old

Tracy and Dani dropped in and spent time with the pups. Here is the gallery from their visit. Roxie also joined us and she cleaned up the pups as if they were her own. Such a maternal being Roxie is. No one seemed to mind either.

Blogs are late as it's one of THOSE days.

Be sure to check out the videos. YEAH my internet is faster now!

PS apricot and white gal can now jump out of the xpen if the door is open. It has begun!

5 Weeks 3 Days Old

The pups are really getting agile and boy is their hair long now. It will be interesting to see them freshly bathed. As Jeannie's is 8 days younger you can see how much the hair grows in just 8 days.

Here is today's gallery.

We are keeping the blogs short due to Leti. I am tired as I did not get any sleep last night. So excuse the shortness. But everyone is having a grand time.

Watch the videos. I keep uploading.

5 weeks 2 Days Old

We had our 1st play upstairs in the hall. How did it go? Quite well. Adele's pups are ready for visitors. Jeannies will be by the time we have a visit. Remember those 2 will be 5 weeks and Adele's will be 6 weeks. The 5 week olds learn from the 6 week old and they will be more apt to be able to keep up with them by then.

The gallery will be on the Jeannie blog. No individual ones today.

I will tell you that although they sometimes flatten the Jeannie crew they are rather gentle with them. they do kiss and play with each other. It's rather endearing.

Be sure to check out the videos.

5 Weeks 1 Day Old

We are trying to do short blogs just in case. Here is the Adele crew out in the hall before Jeannies joined them. Nathan did it opposite than what I usually do it! I usually take the younger set out first.

Pups are really getting active and enjoy being out. Be sure to check out the videos.

Many waggy tails when they think you are taking them out.

Here is a gallery of just the Adele pups.

5 Weeks Old

Here is one of the gals investigating the inside of the house. The pups are 5 weeks old now. I said in a video, almost 5 weeks but that;s not true. Today is 5 weeks old. How did time fly?

On the 10th we are having the 6 week visit but Adele's pups will be 6 weeks 2 days and Jeannies will be 5 weeks 1 day old.

We are making great strides in getting them acquainted with each other. But it is obvious at this stage if left alone the Jeannie pups may get pushed around although we have seen kisses and play we do see yanking tails etc. Jeannie's pups need to be a week older as they will be able to say ENOUGH if one of Adele's pups do that. We are still hopeful that before or just after the 5 week visit we will have all the pups in one pen.

It's a lot more work at that stage as we will have to take Jeannie's pups out each time to feed. We will see how it goes. When they were younger teh moms didn't mind each others pups feeding from them but now they only wantg their own pups feeding from them. How interesting.

Here is the gallery with BOTH litters together. We will alternate the gallery between Jeannies and Adeles but I will also try to get individual galleries for each litter but I wont start that till Sunday.

Be sure to check out the videos.
