Discuss It > clean bum

The way of hair grows at their bums seem catching a little poop quite often, although I trim it already. We do not want to bother her washing the bum every time, but we do not want the smelly bum on the couch. Any suggestions to keep it clean?
Also at what age will the puppy grow to adult size?

Jen:

I use a silcone spray as well as trim around the area. If you use it in this area, it is more apt to slide off as silicone spray (Show Sheen among a number of other products) creates a slippery surface. It's not 100% but it does work depending on the consistency of the output. You can also use it to decrease the amount of snowballs on them. But don't overuse silicone spray as it will build up and create knots.

With the havanese, they can grow all the way to 18 months or so to some degree but it really depends on the lines. More times than not at that age they fill out vs, grow in height. But there are always exceptions to the rule. As an example, I don't expect Treasure to grow any longer and she is not 18 months yet but she may surprise me. We shall see.

Sorry I was late in getting back to you. I have the flu.
