Discuss It > The Long or the Short of it (hair)

I am getting tons of advice now that the hot weather is here as to what length to keep my little boy's hair. Some are saying dogs are miserable and hot with all that hair in the summer and that I should cut him down. Others say the hair helps keep them cool by acting as a barrier. I know it keeps him from getting sunburn and I wouldn't walk him in the heat of the day anyway. What do you think?

The reality is the hair acts as a barrier and a protection and actually keeps them cool. But you could cut the tummy bare so they can lay on the cool tiles and that also works.

If you like the short look and it's easier, do it. But doing it to keep them cool won't give you the end result you desire. If it did, Shoshi would be shaved with all that hair of hers. ROFL
