Changes

The pups are starting to chase Nathan. What fun. Check it out in the videos.

Anne and Russell brought some teethers for the puppies. I am freezing them now and they will get to play with them outside in the morning. Thank you!!

The Ella pups are truly fun these days. They run to you wagging their tails so happy to see you.

I am amazed at the changes since the 5 week visit. They are wrestling maniacs - well not really maniacs but they are rolling and tumbling. Just love them!

6 Weeks 1 Day Old

I see a huge difference with the pups by the day during this stage. It is interesting. They have now started wrestling and due to having teeth they sometimes hurt. Their sibling will yelp, stop the play and walk away. This is how they learn that you have to have a soft mouth.

Here is today's gallery.

Due to cooler weather, the pups had a real blast outside. They are about to go out again!

2 Families Visit

We had 2 families over to see the pups. The pups lasted quite a bit. I believe the cooler but still warm weather contributed to their liveliness.

I want to say thank you to Tara and her family for the beautiful orchid. I love orchids - truly do!! Also thank you to Deb for bringing Laci. It was truly enjoyable to see her. What a pretty gal!

The pups went out again in the afternoon and they wanted to shade themselves under the couch. They are smart.

Be sure to check out the videos. There are 6 from the visit.

Swim and Things

We just took 1 Ella pup in and 1 Cinnamon pup and then the black clouds arrived and the rain came. How did the boy do? He swam. He will probably do better in a week or less but he did swim on his own without sinking. We will have to get the rest in.

Here is the gallery of them both swimming.

It was a fun experience.

Running and Fun

We are starting to run now. It's a riot. They are not totally elegant about it but each day they get better and better.

Here is the gallery.

We now have the gazebo up on the bottom deck. Need to go get curtains and netting but it gives shade till the sun moves in late afternoon.  Pups are out now as I type.

I went in and out of the pool this afternoon. No dogs went swimming. We talked about taking the pups in but may wait a week. We shall see.

Pups had veal with their Fromms kibble and loved it.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Tuesday the pups have visitors.

They have discovered the couch but not the slide or ramp yet.

6 Week Visit

This was an interesting visit. Unfortunately I was unable to take many videos as I was focused on George, so I missed a lot. Plus Saffron kept barking but could not come out as she is in heat. It's the 1st time I didn't get a chance to truly enjoy watching people with the pups. Oh well.... there is the 8 week visit. Georgie needed the attention.

I did find out that the pistol of a boy from Ella's just slept. He must have ate and was playing before arrival. Too bad as he is truly a fun puppy. It's all in the timing. The brown and cream gal was also similar. The 8 week visit maybe someone else will be sleepy. It is why the videos are so important.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Still, I checked in every now and then and captured what I could and it did look like the pups and the humans was enjoying the visit.

Baths Before Visits

I took notes as I was washing. Well, inbetween washing and drying. LOL

Here are the 4.

This is Ella's boy. He was the very first bath I did with the pups. This puppy was truly great in the water, dryer and allowed me to do his pads without any complaints. Good one, little one!

The 2nd bath was the sable and white girl. She liked the water immensely but she wasn't crazy over the dryer. She let me do her pads without issue.

This is the tri gal. As you can see, she has eyebrows that are so cute! She was okay in the water. No nervousness but didn't play like 1 did. She was great with the dryer and the pads.

This is the brown and cream sable. She played like we gave her a toy she loved. It was a riot. She was great with the dryer and the pads were easy with her.

All and all these pups were great with this experience. Some handled being held up in the air hanging better than others. You will see in the photos here. You will also see their wet and dry looks.

Tomorrow they get to meet all sorts of new humans for them.

After their bath they also went out to play on the deck. Check out the gallery here.

Outside Play is the Best

I believe today the crew is going to go outside 3 times. They have graduated to 3 outdoor plays and they are getting longer. When we started doing this it was about 5 minutes but they were really young and just starting to walk. Now I catch them trying to run and jump. It's a riot!

Be sure to check out the videos.

All 10 puppies and the 2 moms will have a bath. oh boy will that be a big job. It's about 3 hours to do 10 puppies. Add a bit more time if we are doing photos. Then I have the 2 moms to do. I also have 3 groomings. Then we have outdoors to set up as we have to remove furniture to fit everyone. It's all on Dennis and I. So blogs - we shall see what I can accomplish.

The 4

This is the Ella 4 crew. We do not have the Cinnamon 6 as it was truly a joke trying to get 4 together. You will see it in the gallery.

The pups are consistently going out twice a day. After the 6 week visit we will be getting them out 3 times a day.

July 26th is their 8 week visit - well almost 8 week visit.

They are still getting along as 10. They have adapted to upstairs. They have their tails up for the most part now. You are going to love seeing all 10!

5 Weeks Old

This one is having a conversation with Nathan. LOL

This blog wil be short. The pups fared well on their 2nd night without moms. They will only be 5 weeks 4 days old when they meet their humans but we didn't want to do it at almost 7 weeks as it would interfere with the 8 week visit.

They are outdoors as I type with Dennis as I type. They so look forward to it now.

Be sure to check out the videos.

So Many Changes

You will have to follow the Cinnamon blog to see how the crew did without their moms last night. So many changes for these little ones.

Their tails are starting to curl over. They get excited to see us. I am actually trying to finish the blogs so I can take them out again.

Here is the gallery. It has the upstairs photos and the outdoor photos.

They truly now get excited to see the Sherpa bags. Hey, we are travelling somewhere fun - aren't we? Did they feel that way last night?

All the pups are starting to get their teeth. They are starting to tear and gnaw on everything. This will pass when the teething concludes.

It's interesting as the moms feed whover saddles up to the milkbar. It doesn't matter if it isn't theirs.

They are truly great moms.

Oh My Such Fun

Surprise, surprise - Leti and Spirit snuck into the deck area and they were so good with the pups that we let them remain. You will have to see the videos to see what I mean. I am uploading them shortly.

Each day they go out a couple of times a day, the more they get comfortable with the chaos of having the adults outside and all the activity. I can't believe in 5 days they will have a bath and 5 days they will see their new families.

They are also eating softened kibble. To see more changes and the gallery, check out Cinnamon's blog.

Wet Pups

I took each pup in the pool and got them wet. They are not old enough to swim but they got to feel the water and be cool outside mid day.

Here is the gallery.

How did they like it? They had an indifference but they didn't like being wet outside. I was wet too so I get it. It got a bit windy and I was cold even though it was hot outside. So we dried them with towels and they were fine. Sopping wet - no thank you!

Outdoor Fun

Pups got outdoors today not once but twice. We will continue to do that daily. Some are more adventurous than others but they are all doing well.

Here is the gallery.

In a weeks time everyone will have their first visit. They do not last long at this age. The 8 week visit is more active.

They eat, they play, they sleep and wag their tails. They are simply delicious!

Almost No Blog Day

Here is a very small gallery.

Pups are doing wonderful together. No issues!

I think I got too much sun. We were running around doing errands in this heat while Dennis held down the fort. It was crazy hot and I just didn't take many photos. Forgive me. Tomorrow is another day - cooler and we will indeed take the pups out.

So stay tuned to tomorrow.

No Outdoors

It's too hot for the puppies outdoors. It is not doable. With their body weight, they would dehydrate too fast. We are hoping for cooler weather as we want to get them outdoors on a regular basis.

As all teh 10 puppies are together now, it is hard to do individual galleries so I am going to do Ella's as the indoor one with all 10 and on Cinnamon's we will do the outside of the pen ones. That is probably confusing but I started looking at each photo to see where I could put them in what gallery and my head was spinning. So, each day I will do an in the pen and out of the pen gallery and I hope that will suffice.

Here is the gallery. This is the in the xpen one.

As you will see, all 10 pups are now as 1 group and they will continue as it is not conducive to their well being to be separate. The more exposures, the better puppies they are.

Be sure to check out the videos.

You will see moms with each others puppies. You will see Ellas and Cinnamon's playing together. They are doing rather well.

4 Weeks Old

We will have short blogs tonight. It's late. We just had all 10 pups outside. You can see how it went in the videos.

They did have a couple of accidents on the blanket despite us putting them on the pad. This is to be expected. They are babies but they are doing really well at just 4 weeks.

The sable had her nail stuck in teh mesh in teh sherpa bag. time to cut those nails again. They are growing fast!

The moms are great with each others pups. They feed whomever saunters over to the milk bar.

The pups are rather great.

See Cinnamon's blog for the gallery of all 10 outdoors on the deck.

1 Day Short of 4 Weeks Old

Today was a fun day. The pups now have food in their pen and water. The goal is within a week - could be shorter - may not be longer - to get them upstairs at night without mom. Dennis gets to sleep in his bed again and the moms sleep in bed with us. Moms usually have a more difficult time with it than the pups.

Here is a gallery of all 10 together.

The pups had a play session together. Each day they will play together and before they head upstairs, they will be all together downstairs. It is important to know if they all get along and if any of the pups tend to bowl over any puppy. So far, so good. You will see more in the videos, I am posting today.

Here is a small gallery of just the Ella pups.

I am impressed with all 10. They are progressing rather nicely.

First Food

Pups are 3 Weeks and 5 days old. They had their first taste of solid food - and they were eating well. Now we wait to see how their bowels are before attempting them again. We will most likely wait till tomorrow. They did really well.

See the gallery.

The goal is to get them to eat so they can be without moms at night. We also have to get them all together but not yet. We also want to get them outside but its too hot. But I will tell you being outside of their xpen didn't bother them in the least.

Be sure to check out the videos.

3 Weeks 4 Days Old

The pups are truly all animated when they are awake. It's fun to watch. They truly play with each other and the toys. They have also noticed each other now through the bars and seems to be fascinated. A couple seem to be using the pads rather well traipsing across the xpen to get to the pad. At this stage we leave it semi saturated so they learn where to go. As they get better, we will change the pads out frequently. It bothers me to have them that way but I also understand that they seem to get it better this way. I believe it is a scent thing.

Here is the gallery.

In a few days we are going to try them on solid foods - mousse at first. I want to wait till the end of teh holiday weekend as its just too busy to focus on feeding 2 crews. I also want them very steady on their legs. They are getting there.

Be sure to check out the videos.
