Past Picnic

Unfortunately some can't come. It happens every year  but know we will miss you. Those dealing with tragedies, well our thoughts are with you. Those that can't come for whatever the reason, we hope you can make it next year.

Here's a past picnic. Hoping for grand play, good conversation and fun delish food this year. 

No update today as I am getting popups packed in the car, chairs, coolers for the ice we are bringing etc. Dogs groomed etc

Looking forward to seeing everyone. As co-hosts we will be there early to help setup and bring the popups, ice etc. Can't wait to see you. 

Comfortable clothes are required. You may find yourself sitting in the grass and getting kissed by a number of havanese. Can't wait!

Rainy Daze

Class photos and videos are up on Spice's page. Tomorrow picnic. Nathan was already packing the car and driving the dogs nuts with all the noise. Now to start grooming and washing Grace today  and thrn Ozzie early morn tomorrow who are departing. Plus have 3 more to do. Busy day to get ready for the picnic. Looks like it will be a hot one tomorrow. We will be bringing a ton of ice. No worries.

Just a Few

We were at the hospital after washing 4 dogs. Danielle is in serious pain but is improving - well I think. It's been a crazy day. Not much of an update but we are heading to class.

Taking a Break

With Danielle's surgery (she made it through but is filled with many tubes and drugged), Paula and Tracy coming in, a pool pump fixed but now cell is not working, it's an almost no blog day. Dogs are having fun. 

I am sure you understand and yes everyone got combed out.

Rain Day

Hardly any photos and I had dogs to do today so only 2 photos today.

We have a rescue coming in tomorrow night that is going back with Paula. He's 8. Paula gets here at 4 so we hope we are back from the hospital. It's a crazy week. 

Yesterday - Ella and Inula: Pool time for the duo!

Pool is green as pump is broken. Had to go get a new one and now we wait till the guy comes out to install it. Hope we are here and can't tell him to just come as Dennis is here as the pool store doesn't give you a name of the tech. Imagine that. I guess no pool swimming for Paula. 

We just had the dogs out and its stifling hot and muggy. Think we will stay in the air especially without a pool. 

That's okay - dog snuggles are the best!

Swimming Just for 2

Ozzie (non havanese) and Logan went swimming with me today. Nathan was tired after a lack of sleep last night. Ozzie wasn't crazy about it but he is strong and can swim. He enjoyed the antics after the swim more.

Logan was fine in the pool and actually enjoyed it but if he had his druthers he would say now I know what comes next - a brush out or a bath so that's no fun. hehe

Tried to get Dusty in but she wasn't in the mood and neither was anyone else. It happens but they still manage to have fun!

Where's the Havanese

Every now and then Inula has to count and her pal Ozzie, Yes, we also have a Ozzie havanese visiting us. heh

The dogs had a blast. Katie and Molly departed. We hope Ruth is feeling better.

Simba arrived and is having a blast and well all the dogs got to see our grand daughter, her friend and our daughter. They marveled at how well behaved Dusty is telling us they could tell she is a therapy dog. She is hoping she can come to visit when Danielle is in the hospital. Three more days and surgery.

Here's a gallery from today. As my arm is a tad messed up Nathan had to do the brushing so he decided he only had energy to brush out Ella. So swam she did. Everyone played and enjoyed and crawled all over Danielle. Wish I had that photo but I was in the pool and well all I could do is watch it. The moments we miss.

I also did 5 miles of aerobics in the water and had the company of 2 miles with the daughter till she said ENOUGH. 

On Tuesday updates will be sparse as Paula, Tracy and a few dogs are coming into town and sleeping over. She will be departing early Wednesday. 

Is anyone heading to Whole Foods. Can you let me know if they have a S'well Bottle for sale? Looking to buy one. My all metal thermos died. If not, I will call the Markham one and talk Nathan into letting me go before class. Let's see if that works. hahahaha 

Backyard Chillin'

It's a real dawg life of competition. Nathan looked over and said see the dogs love me. All I have to do is sit down and they are all over me. I said yes. So, I sat down and I had dogs all over me. So, I smiled and said I guess they love me too. heh

We had a full day of play. Nathan did a lot of grooming after swimming as my hand is hurting from so much dematting.

Seeing Canada won gold in synchronized swimming Nathan tried to duplicate it with mom and daughter. You can tell me what you think.  

We had Helen and Suzie over and Milo and Hugo. It was a good day with dogs, human swimming and synchronized attempts. Tomorrow our grand daughter comes over. 

Simba is also visiting. It's been a bit of time so it was delightful to see him.

Now to lay down with dogs and watch tv. Olive comes tomorrow - FUN!

Swim Day for A Couple

Tried to get Gracie in and she said NO WAY and Molly wasn't crazy about the idea but once in she was great! Katie wanted to keep going back in.

Dog's have had a really exciting day. It was warm. No rain and well we played a lot of games. I also groomed twice today trying to get berry staining out of beards - oh my and cause I acted right away, I managed to. Got to love it!

Tomorrow Hugo and Milo and their parents come for a swim. Sunday our grand daughter and friends come for a swim before surgery. Cha Cha and Satch come to play. Sunday Olive, PJ and Lucy comes - oh fun!!

Going to be a busy but fun weekend.

It's Been a Day

The human here has been mega busy grooming and bathing. I only managed to click a few photos. Sorry and not everyone was out. Those that were missing was laying on top of Nathan on the couch sleeping. I was working. Here's the gallery.

We have class tonight. Spice's blog won't get updated till after I return tonight. Really wanted to take some dogs in the pool and swim but its not happening today. 

The dogs are having a blast. I did pull some weeds with them around 8am and some tried to help me. My strawberries are now targets for a number of dogs.

Dennis tried to fix the tablet. Think he knows I am missing it but it is what it is. It was an accident. He's a creative soul and he has fixed our tv in the past so he has the aptitude. One would think by now all devices should be waterproof - don't you think?

Oh well have to change and get ready for class. It's an early one at 630.

One more week till picnic time.

No Pool Day

I am not sure what happened to the day. I brushed rbrryone out. I washed Brewer and Maddie and the day was gone. I didn't even get to water my pots till tonight. 

Maddie oh Maddie what a pistol. Molly and Katie have just arrived. Thoughts go out to Ruth who is having surgery tomorrow so we have the gals. Maddie departs tonight. Tiny dropped in for the day. Ozzie is so much fun and Dusty loves the pups but no I haven't managed to get a photo just yet. I was hoping the son did. 

Now Charlie is the party guy. He plays and plays and plays. Got to laugh. We are having a blast. Here is what we did get. The son took the photos so not all are clear but it allows you to see the fun. I promise to take photos tomorrow. Back to playing with the dogs and getting ready for Maddie's departure!

Before the Rain

Before the rain Ty decided to jump on the deck railings and walk on them. I know they act like cats at times but this was priceless. Ty is back home maybe practicing his high act.

It's good to have internet and tv again. 

We went swimming with just the swimmers today. Then the black clouds came in. I had a dog to do and we ran out of time. Then the rain came and well it cooled off. Tomorrow is a new day.

Everyone is refusing to go outside as its raining. Maybe we will chill on the couches.

Internet is Down

Our service is down and no eta to when it will be up. I am using my cellphone which is tedious and I can't create a gallery on it. I can't get mail but if its still down tomorrow I will add it to my phone.

Interesting Day

Risa is so full of life. It is so grand!! Lori and Roger got to see her begging for treats when they came to get Scruffy and Pepper. I so enjoy our conversations and we shared stories of spilled disasters.

Well Ella got best of winners for 2 points. Think she is a couple of points away from championship. Nathan got breed (2nd show) with Inula but Inula after such a long day acted up so nothing for her. Nathan was unable to show Ella in puppy as he had to do group with Inula so he ended up asking someone that didn't know Ella. She was okay but not great for her. She would have done better on Nathan or Val. Val said she had to sit with Yeshi. I am disappointed about that. Oh well.

Val won group 1 (1st show). The collie won show. Long weekend. Congrats to the winners. Now Nathan won't get home till 10ish as he has to drive Val downtown and thanks to Pan Am games roads are shut down. We have a busy day tomorrow.

Now for non show related news. Oscar was freshly bathed and I decided to take a 5 minute pool dip. Oscar decided to go on the pool stairs. I said NO Oscar. He listened then as I started swimming with the pool noodle he jumped in. So, that 5 minute dip turned into 3 minutes and I thought about air drying but he wouldn't look as pretty so instead I changed and blow dried him again and then poor Abigail - his owner had car failure so he is here till tomorrow. I surely hope to keep him dry and clean till then. It may be a struggle. hahahaha

We have visitors tomorrow so I need to cut vines. Rocco is going home shortly as I see his humans flight got in. 

Dogs have been wonderful. I have had a full day of work. Dennis got my clippers going. Pool pump is not recoverable. I need to weed but its not getting done and I have doors to stain and furniture to stain oh and Saffron has to be taken for a walk or she will be comical relief in class.

Our grand daughter is getting her colon removed on the 15th so we will be dealing with hospital visits - taking turns and all that. They say 7 to 10 day recovery in hospital expected. We are hoping to get her swimming before then on Friday. 

Now off to at least make the walkways maneuverable. Off to outside with the dogs. After Rocco departs I may have that drink. heh

What a Day

We have been busy. Despite the human being busy we managed to have a LOT of fun. We ran, we played, we lounged. We played a mad game of get the ball. Just can't play the game and take a video. <sigh> We will have to repeat when Nathan is here. Here is a gallery when I did have a camera in hand.

Ella didn't get anything in the show and Inula lost to Val's Yeshi this morning and then Inula beat Yeshi for 3 points to what I believe is her championship. I will call in on Monday and verify but I am pretty sure she is a new champion and Nathan got a photo saying such. Val's Yeshi just got his championship as well. We are proud of them! How we are crossing our fingers Ella gets something tomorrow. It would be nice to finish her championship and concentrate on Saffron. 

Oh and I have had a terrible weekend. Besides the fact we are waking u at 4am and have to do it again and when he gets home I have to wash them (he's not home yet), Dennis by accident sent my android Nexus 7 32gb in the pool and he tried to revive it but its toast. I am so sad. Then later today a bottle of shampoo fell all over the floor on my dryer, my dog dryer, the walls, the floor and it was purple. I am washing towels I had to use to clean it up and it took a mere 2 hours to do so.

Waiting for the ax to drop on something else. Oh yeah think the pool pump is almost gone so maybe that's the 3rd thing.

I need a stiff drink but still got show dogs to wash when Nathan finally gets here. At this rate I wil be washing till midnight then up at 4. Joy.

The Chairs

Do you get the idea that Finn thinks the chairs are his very fave place outside? He so loves to pose. I had him so perfect and well he has to be cleaned again before he departs tomorrow. Got to love his fun!

Everyone has had a total blast but we are all going to go to bed shortly as we have a 4am wakeup so Nathan can go to the show. Once he is up everyone is up. It just works that way. 

Tomorrow Dolly Parton, Satch and Cha Cha go home. I have a full day of grooming with breaks between. Maybe I will start at 5am and fall asleep in the pool by afternoon. Then we get to wake up at 4am again the next day. Shoot me now will ya?

But we still manage to have fun. More tomorrow!

Fun and Plans

Finn has been having a total grand time but so has everyone. Not a single dog is just hanging out but instead they are socializing and truly having an amazing time. Here's a gallery from today. I didn't groom as I took a day off. Can you imagine that but instead I played with the dogs and filled up a bag with weeds and there are so many more. heh

I also managed to get a strawberry before Jeannie and now *&^ Saffron does.

I will be extra busy till Tuesday as we have a show to get ready for, dogs going home and many grooms. It's why I took off today. So ignore their messy hairdos and just enjoy their moments.

With much consideration we have decided to breed Adele to Newton. It means that Nathan will spend a few days in Sudbury at Paula's whenever she is at her peak. She is not in heat yet. As he can't spend 3 weeks there we will test to get an idea of when she is in peak so we will know more accurately when she is due. It is expensive to test but this way we can guarantee the timing. We are also going to be breeding Leti to Truffie when she is in heat. We are expecting great pups from these litters. I know some of you are anxious but I would love to have a summer without heats but fat chance, I imagine. We shall see. 

Stairs: Happy Canada's Day

We spent a lot of time waiting for the rain that only sprinkled. We shut off the pool and chilled out. We have stairs outside and this is a photo I took as they were coming up to snuggle and chill with me on the stairs that we have outside.

They LOVE hanging out when its not too hot and not too cold. Nathan even came out to say you have been out here for hours. Yeah... On Friday I have a lot of baths to do so I was trying to just snuggle with the dogs and regroup of sorts. Nathan is off to do a show Saturday and Sunday but he will be returning each night. Then I hope we take a break. 

Rocco and Dolly Playing TonightLooking forward to using the pool tomorrow. Well, we are hopeful. hahahaha

Everyone is doing exceptionally well. They all get along and are enjoying each other. Its wonderful to watch. I don't always have a camera on me but everyone is playing. Dolly (not one of ours) just arrived and she is already mingling and playing!

Updates

Saffron has a update on Spice's blog. It looks like rain today. Rocky departed (not one of ours) and Rocco returns. Rocco's parents are going to Iceland. Now how cool is that? I will take a photo of Rocco's slow eating bowl and maybe video tape it. It's interesting to watch upclose and personal. 

Not going to do a gallery today. Just not enough photos considering this weather of spitting rain and I had to get the rug cleaned for the dog show so Nathan has it on Saturday. 

Everyone is doing well - having fun and can this rain please go?

Oh a Dip?

Oh Zackie fell in the pool today while playing with the Schnauzers. He swam confidently to the stairs. He's such a good boy. This is why we are always out with the dogs. Its rare that one falls in and then it happens. 

Zack was also my 'ate the knee high' dog story that I tell. I just love him!
