Better Late Than Never

Just finished grooming for the day. Sorry I am so late. Had fun going to the All About Pet Show. Came back and groomed and groomed. Here is today's gallery.

We have Chiclet that came to visit. We are excited. We had Rosie visit for the day. You can see her before and after. We also had Tucker but his dad showed up before I could click his after. Odin and Goldie dropped in. It's such a great selection of personalities. As this is a holiday weekend, we are seeing such a fun group. 

You will see in the photos the dogs had a blast. We may not have clicked enough of everyone but one day they are going to have a camera that all you have to do is look at your subject vs. carrying a camera around. 

We out out some of our furniture. 

They say rain tomorrow. I hope not. You see Amy runs through that water pile every time so we wash her feet. I was blow drying them each time but mom showed up before I got a chance to. Maybe it is time to order the pool opening. Last week in April is fine with me. Let's see if they have empty spots that week.

Messy is What Messy Does

I need a recliner and some sleep. Crawling on to the recliner now and watch all the dogs climb on top of me. 

With everyone wanting the dogs done for Passover sedar and now for Good Friday and Easter, well - I need sleep. 

Tomorrow we are off to the All About Pet Show then I need to get back by 1 as I have groomings (plural) to do. Not to worry! They will lok better than the motley pair in this photo. hahahaha

Tenshi Grab

I titled today as the Tenshi grab as that is what she was delightfully doing all day. She sure knows how to have fun and despite that pained look on Ozzie's face, he went back over and over again for more.

Look at the gallery and see Stone's hair. He had a bath. He had a rubber band in his hair. Voila, gone. Why do I try?

I was blessed to have Dallas over today. She got trimmed up and loved up.

Ozzie arrived and so did Tenshi. They are so fill of sprit today. 

Me, I groomed and groomed. I am about to fall into the recliner and nod off. If I dare close my eyes, that is what will happen.

Dogs are in various stages of grooming. Grass is poking through. Soon growth will stop the mud. Well, we can hope.

Why Bother

Why bother to wash when you have wet that keeps coming. Oh well most is done. Today's gallery has a mix of groomed and ungroomed. 

I am trashed. Tried a new method on dematting where you lather them up with dematting fluid, heat it up then take a high velocity dryer to each knot and push the knots out. Well, they only somewhat pushed away from the skin. Either I need to perfect the skill or it doesn't work as well as I need. 

We have a trouble maker in the house. Stormy rips out everyone's rubber bands. We are correcting her. She does listen for a millisecond then tries it again. She is killing everyone's hair. Soon she will be in the tv room with only dogs that have their hair cut. That gal is mischievous as all get out. You should see how she kills the toys. 

Dogs are having fun despite the wet but they only want to run in the house. Easier for me cause when they run in wet, I have to groom and groom. On wet days, Dennis gets his workout running with the dogs down the halls. 

It is funny to see who runs for the recliner in the tv room. It is the must have seat lately.

Departures

Murphy, Jesse, Reggie, Rocky departed today.

Adele and River was with us and just left. They were here while the daughter and boyfriend had some down time after their reno project. 

I was washing dogs today. I have a marathon this week. Tonight is Passover and Friday is Good Friday, Sunday is Easter. Everyone wants their dogs clean for the holiday. Can you blame them. Me too so I am playing catch up and doing 1 here and there. Today I did the 3 pups. Tomorrow Ella and Spice and a full schedule of other peoples. 

Yes, the hand is better. Still icing each night but I can groom. Thank gad as Nathan well we won't go there.

What crazy weather today. We had heat then dark clouds, then a thunderstorm and back to sun. Thyme wasn't sure about this thunder. The other 2 pups cared less. It's not that Thyme was truly afraid but was rather confused. Where is that from? So she stood like a statue till she saw the others ignoring so she ignored too. 

I did get out between grooming to click and to enjoy the weather. We need more nice days.

Friday morning we are heading to the All About Pet Show and will be there at opening time. Then I have to be back by 1 as I have 2 groomings to do. That gives us enough time to be there when they open, do the show before it gets busy and get home. Hoping Nathan's iritis is better or he will be wearing a patch.

It's Warmer Today

I just finished giving Rocky a bath and trim. He's going home first thing in the morning so I will freshen him up before he goes home. Rocky lives far away but he used to live up the street. We used to see him more often but we are excited he got to spend time with us. He had a really great time. He also cleans up nicely. He was a good boy for the bath and grooming.

It was warm today and as Nathan BBqd the dogs kept sniffing it up. 

Nathan has a bad case of iritis so he is staying in the dark as much as possible. 

Me, I groomed all day and tomorrow I do the same. We have departures tomorrow and Teddy came today. I am slowly playing catch-up on my guys. 

I find a huge glass of gin and tonic is helping the hand today.  I like one every now and then. 

Time for snuggling with the dogs.

Two Updates Today

The gallery contains part of yesterday afternoon photos and part of today. Most of the photos show messy dogs but little by little I am getting them done. I also made headway on my dematting. Yes, hands are still hurtimng but by Tuesday I can rest. We had Zoey over. She got a trim to shape her up. She also got to play her heart out. She had so much fun with Stormy and Raven.

It's warming up. Dogs are loving it and no mud - strange but wet, wet, wet. Watch I said no mud and I will jinx myself. 

This chair that they all sit on belongs to our daughter. I have a sneaky suspicion we will buy her a new one. It's an extra wide gravity chair that allows you to have a dog laying with you side by side. They should make couch gravity chairs of sort. I wonder if it is possible. 

We are dreaming of spring. Murphy's mom brought a treat from Florida so far all adore. Tonight they had grounded up steak added to their meals and ground sirloin. Murphy has departed. We miss her already. 

Teddy arrives tomorrow. Monday night we get quiet again. :-)

Trouble's Family

I believe she is settling in. They are finding her length hair is a tad long for the harness etc (they asked for this length) but didn't realize they wanted shorter. So we are shaving her down like the Dolly. That will be a shock for me. hahaha We will do this Friday after she settles in so not to give her more confusion.

2 Updates Today

We woke up to snow. The dogs were thoroughly delighted. Jesse, the collie wanted to lay out in it, Risa too. It is completely gone now. We are bracing for heat in a couple of days.

Nathan has a bad case of iritis. Me, the hands are still and I have a dematting to do but he's not going home till Tuesday. I am trying to figure it out.

I have to wash and groom my own dogs. Was hoping Nathan would fully pitch in. So pain pills here I go and we will get through this. Then I will rest with the dogs. 

Think I will play a mad game of find the treats first. We do manage to have fun. 

Trouble departs tomorrow (see below), boy Murphy departs tonight so we are down 2 Murphys tonight. 

Time to hide treats. :-)

Trouble to Depart

Gave Trouble a bath and a haircut. Her last haircut was not done by me so the head is still growing out. It's in that inbetween - shall I stick up or shall I lay down. In a week or two it will be laying down. Thought about layering it further (Last placed thinned it out in excess thinning out ears etc) she would appear to have no hair or a complete buzz cut so it is best to let it grow. It is almost there. I just shaped it and cut the rest of her body.

I think she is adorable. She has an amazing face. Her eyes, her smile - all exquisite, imho.

It's hard when they live with you for so long but I hope she is on this amazing adventure and she will come to visit. I wish I could tell her that we took a long time to make sure this adventure was the right one. There will be new sounds, new rituals, new surroundings. 

She will be missed. I am happy that her new owner is so happy. That is how it is supposed to be!

My Day

Gizmo came for a bath and haircut. I hand scissored him and took about an inch and a quarter off him and layered him. Doesn't he look like Raven but he has a longer, nicer tail for the ring. :-) Not showing it doesn't matter. Jeannie has a shorter tail. Jeannie is a champion. So, I am nitpicking but still nicer.

As my hands truly are still bad, Nathan washed and dried then we did it again as Gizmo had to go potty. Nathan thought oh a minute outside and we will just clean the feet.  Well, he decided to have some water fun. It was as if he said oh water, I must. He is a water baby and LOVED the water. He will be a great candidate for the pool and so will Tenshi. Wait till you see them in the gallery.

I shaved his tummy partially but as you can see you can't see it and it makes it ever so much easier to take care of the coat. I also thinned out his chest where it tends to knot on all havanese and thinned out behind the ears, his bum etc. He came perfectly combed. 

No one else got brushed out by me but Nathan did the visitors and Raven. One more day and hopefully I will be okay. Nathan keeps mumbling I should teach Dennis. hmmm

Jessie and Murphy arrived so we have 3 Murphys here. Everyone freaked out for the first 20 minutes at Jessie as he's a collie but a gentle soul. Now they act as he's always been here. It's great conditioning. Jessie will be here till Monday.

Benji is arriving shortly. Looks like by Monday we have an emptier house. 

Everyone has warm towels around them I heated up and soon will be brushed out again. 

They say snow tonight. hmm 

Dismal Day

The weather was only dry for part of the day. We are expecting a ton of rain overnight. I may have to get Dennis to pump the water off of the center of the pool. Amy thinks its a bath to run through. Of course pumping it off with make mud but spring life and then they say it turns to snow. hahahaha Maybe we shouldn't open the pool.

Dogs had fun today. Dennis didn't take that many photos as it kept raining off and on. 

I have leg cramps again. I had a reprieve. Inula thinks laying on then half the night is fun. She's a tad heavy for that.

That's it. Not too exciting but keep thinking hand will be better and then it is not.

Trouble goes to a new home Saturday so there is much to do to get ready for that. 

Dreaming

Dreaming of warmer times.

Everyone is doing well. I am not grooming. Nathan is brushing out before departures. I am resting my hand. We are cuddling. It is raining.

Tomorrow we return to our regular schedule. I promise! 

Sorry

No blog. Did (almost) 4 dogs today haircuts and all and hands are bad. Nathan is blow drying the last and then I scissor cut and then I rest. Perhaps by 930pm. Tomorrow no grooming. 

All it takes is 2 days of bad mats in a row and this is what happens. Can take knots out, even minimal mats but can't do serious dematting for 2 days. I now know my limit. One dog I ache but not like this. 

Sorry Tenshi's mom and Logan and Panda's mom. Not sure if Nathan brushed them out but I could not. 

Toast

Here is today's gallery. Amy rolled into the pool water in the center of the pool cover and then ran through the dirt. Nathan was napping. Dennis was out with the dogs and came in with her handing her to me to wash. After Monday night, I may have to take a break from grooming. Just a day or two otherwise I will be out of commision for longer. I have 4 dogs going home early on Tuesday so after that, break and ice and maybe a stiff drink. I am tired of complaining and tired of it hurting. I can't even hold a glass with my right hand and my left is not much better. I can't demat 2 solid days in a row. I pay in the long run and most times I don't even get a thank you or tip so I may have to curb dematting. I am trying to figure it out. Now I get why 99% of groomers just shave it off. Then they get blamed for shaving. heh

Two Updates Today

Murphy's parent said no bath. This was Murphy when it began and then he got muddier and muddier. Well, he enjoyed himself.

Dogs have been having a great time. Rocky and Oscar arrived today and are truly playing. 

Adele and River went to live in their new home with our daughter and grand daughters. Adele will come back for 1 more litter next heat. I gave her a bath before she departed. I didn't get to River. Hands wouldn't allow and the daughter was short on time. She had things to do and things to unpack.

So this blog is short once again but we will get back to normal. :-)

Secret a New Champion

Click on Photo for Larger ViewSecret is a Spice and Envy puppy. Parents and pup was born here so this is particularly exciting for us. Tracy does an amazing job with her. Today she also got Select Bitch. She is on her way to get her grand championship. Bravo to Tracy and Paula! 

What complimentary colours on you, Tracy. You look great together!!

Secret went on to get another Select this afternoon. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

Is This Love?

Look at the way Logan smiles and stares at his Panda. He just loves her. It's so nice to watch. 

Thanks goes to Sherry for such a great selection of birthday presents. She's right, I exceptionally love the pillow that says I sleep with the dogs plus the water container that is metallic. I love the metallics!! 

Thanks goes to Lynda for comfort in our TV room. 

Today my hands hurt. When I say hurt, I mean it hurts to even type. Too many days with grooming matted dogs so unfortunately this will be short.

The schnauzers are having a blast playing retrieve. The dogs, visitors and all love them. They are great dogs.
