Nora is celebrating her 8th birthday with lots of attention and a big walk. She even had a zoom call with our daughter from university. Shady is a bit jealous of the extra attention Nora is getting but it will be his turn soon :). Happy birthday to her siblings
Brewer is visiting us. It's an old photo but a wonderful one as he is celebrating life. He gets a goodies bag to go home with today!
Lori said about Ms. Pepper: I took the day off to spend with her (but then got pulled into a few meetings). I am done now and she will be loved, pampered, and treated for the rest of the day. I’m sure she will get a special visit from Nonna and Nonno tonight as well.
George and Herschel is here for a week. Murphy dropped in and so did Brewer who is having a birthday this week.
We have been working on importing photos from a sd card that well the photos are not retreivable so I have half what I would have had with the puppies. I now have a bad sd card and a bad brand new reader replacing the died reader. Are we having fun? NOT.
Dogs had fun. We had a visitor outside - husband and wife that used to work with Nathan. they got to play with the dogs and play ctach up. I went out for a bit and came in for the pups.
It was a good day for them.
Nathan has started running with the pups then not doing well after. I really really want to swat him. He can't help himself. 6 more days and counting and maybe he will rest for a few days after but we have puppy visits - oh boy.
The dogs looked at the white stuff as if to say - really? Some thought what fun. Others thought they needed to come back inside. I have to laugh as each year it seems to change - this welcoming attitude toward the cold.
The local mall has food trucks outside it with interesting foods. I have to try a phillie cheese steak. One truck is supposed to be selling them. I keep saying this but I never get there.
It has been a quiet day here. My dog dryer set off the fire alarm. I think the motor was burning. We took it apart and turned it on and yep the motor is burning. They do not make them any longer and a dog stand dryer is oh 600 to 1000 dollars. No one seems to repair these dryers as they are no longer sold but I found one guy that sells the motor so now I am trying to coax this guy to replace the motor. He says he no longer works on them anymore but we shall see. He is willing to sell me the motor and let me do it. That's funny but maybe...
I am trying to do ornaments with a photo of a dog on one side and the family on the other - or really anything that is desired. Soon I will be testing totebags. lol
This is Willow and her family on got you day. It's one photo on the front and the other on the back. I will be giving this to her when she comes later this month. It is the least I can do with using her as a test. I hope to continue to improve.
Ellie was over for play and had a great time. She played with the adults and with the puppies as you will see in videos and the gallery.
Here is Ellie watching the videos after she gets home. How cute is that?
It is rather cold outside but the dogs loved the cool. They ran all over the pool cover bouncing along like a trampoline.
No snow yet but they say it is coming. Is it?
It's cool. It is breezy and well exercise is in store when the cool invigorates or that's their excuse. Not mine. I like to hibernate from cold.
Ms Harlow is departing today. Rusty departed a bit ago. I have to groom Harlow tonight before she departs.
Dogs can't get enough of running in this cool.
We finally took our curtains off the gazebos and I am washing for storage. Most of the statures are in. They say snow this week perhaps.
We get to see Ellie tomorrow - hooray! She comes once a week. She gets to socialize. We have fun and she has fun!
By the way, Nathan has the club calendar here. If you are interested, let him know/ He doesn't get anything out of it. He creates it bitall proceeds go to the Havanese Fanciers.
Anyone getting a puppy - this may be a useful course to take. We have not yet seen it but we do take their in person courses,
Here is the Harlow Gal. She departs tomorrow. She so loves to eat and sings for her supper quite literally. We always miss her when she goes home. Murphy boy and Murphy gal departed today. They are missed!
Tomorrow Rusty comes for a spruce up.
We did not click as outside is highly not doable between teaming rain and very high winds - its too much. We have had winds recorded at 110km. Glad the dogs are also pad trained. They had a blast inside. That's all that matters.
TV time for the dogs now!
I have literally been working too much so Safi looks like I feel. Truffie and Jeannie still need their baths but it will wait till Monday as I am out of steam. Safi ALREADY had one and this is how she looks today. You so have to love a dog that loves to live and our dogs do!
(Dorothy - Pixie and Leo's mom) showed up today and did our gardening out front - 18 bags of leaves. I was just going to leave it and when she said she was coming we said no but she came anyways. She is an angel and words can't convey how special this was for us and I suppose our neighbours that kept saying - are you going to rake those leaves?Got to think up something I can do for her that is very special!
Nathan is not supposed to rake or shovel or exercise. He moved the chairs outside and had an episode. He is stubborn/stupid. Dennis had planned to get around to the leaves but he's been so off kilter. He was up at 3am checking on the pups and so was I. LOL Sleeping days then suddenly switching to sleeping nights does something to your body. Yo need time to play recovery.
Dogs had fun today. I groomed and groomed.
No Christmas boarding. I suppose so you do what you have to. I am hoping we are covid free next year. That would be the best present for all! Dogs and covid free - the best - I tell you!
There is a food truck thing at Hillcrest mall. I wonder how that works with us being in the red zone again. navigating a whole new world yet again. I so miss puppy families and PEOPLE. The dogs love to see people.
It's another long day so I am short blogging it. I wanted to do Jeannie and Truffie today but my body gave out. It was a tylenol 3 day. :-)
Nathan was making steak and Murphy gal was twirling around performing for some. Harlow was serenading us. Her dad says she is a picky eater. The gal thinks she is starved, I tell you.
It was a cold day somewhat. I still walked outside with barefeet. That is about to stop. I did end up puttiong on socks and I find the hair from haircuts stick to the socks. The dogs like to yank it off if I don't get it all off. I am not sure what their fascination is with it.
We are now in the red zone as of Sunday night so on Sunday. I am going to run to Markville mall to get Purdys Dark Chocolate Sweet Georgia Browns as I am afraid the only way to get them is order them online or do without as I am told their store is closing till after we are out of the red zone. My other absolute faves are the dark chocolate cordial cherries. Problem is they disappear too fast and I deserve some chocolate after this crazy busy week - well that is my excuse. Think about something small that you deserve and treat yourself!
Till tomorrow and after 5 dogs getting groomed...
This is Stormy. I washed her yesterday. The dogs make me laugh so hard as they do everything to mess themselves up. A clean dog but a messy one is fine with me but really sometimes you feel like you groom for what - knot free and clean, I suppose,
Our neighbour has a new dog that barks nonstop so now Halle thinks its her job to bark back. Halle had to come in oh 10 times today. Think she will figure it out? Tomorrow is a new day. Halle doesn't usually do this so this is new. Wonder what signals she is getting from this dog's voice.
The dogs ran through leaves today and had a glorious time. It was cold but not bitter cold. They say snow next week. Too soon? Weather people are often wrong but I suppose the dogs would like it especially Misty and Harlow.
Harlow says all in one day it goes to waking up to rain, then it stops, then warmth and by the minute it is getting colder and they say staying colder. Oh well...
Some had baths - well the moms did and I may do Ella after blogging. This always happens after pups get older. I get to play catchup with my own. Instead of down time, I get catch-up. But that's okay.
Dogs were running around like banshees this morning and I kept getting the back end or missed moments but I must admit, I was drinking my coffee and having breakfast so there was a lot of one handed photography.
In 2 weeks Nathan has to go in for angioplasty. As he is having moments going up the stairs or down the stairs they told him to pack a bag. He most likely will be staying after getting checked in. If it gets worse, he is to go to Trillium emerg in Mississauga and they will have him jump the waiting list. Fun stuff. He will be fine after this. No history of heart issues in his family. I can't go into the hospital. I have to drop him off and pick him up. Thank you, Covid - not. I am told he may feel like a new man after this. Let's hope. He is tired all the time and progressively more tired. I get to do all the heavy lifting along with Dennis. We still have statues to bring inside, leaves to rake etc. I am not grooming on the 25th or 26th. First 2 days off in a row but wish I wasn't getting it off for this reason.
Pups will be upstairs by then. Dennis will be sleeping at night vs. day. Another moment we will make it through.
Dogs will live for the moment and enjoy. They show me that every day. Off to wash Ella then do the rest of the blogs. Galleries already built. Just have to upload videos while I groom. LOL
Ms Stormy purposely made herself a mess after being groomed. Got to love a dog that loves to be a mess.
Mr. Murphy came for a visit with his human mom. I am blogging. It is late but dogs and humans had fun. I hope everyone enjoyed this lovely weather. It won't be as warm tomorrow but warm enough. Maybe we will get pups out again. We shall see.
Stone so wanted to be with the pups. His time will come. LOL Boy Murphy that is staying here was fascinated.
This is Raven. I am now playing catchup with my own dogs - fitting them in here and there to have their baths.I did Spirit and Tempie as well.
Everyone enjoyed the lovely day. Tomorrow I do Murphy - Kat's brother and his mom is coming to visit and celebrate the election result. Well, Nathan will entertain while I wash, I suppose. Oh well...
We have 3 Murphys. Murphy gal, Murphy boy that is here today and senior Murphy who is Kat's brother. I think we have enough Murphys. LOL
I took a puppy out - the Sage largest boy and somehow its not on any camera despite Dennis taking photos. I am so miffed. This is what happens when you get real busy.
Dogs were playing like crazy. One more day of warmth. I booked off other than my own and Murphy, I am going to try to visit with Laura - unless she has to depart when I am done grooming her little man.
Guess what I am doing tomorrow between the grooming of others - well grooming this entire motley crew.I give up on Misty. I think its shave down time for her. LOL Then it can grow back. We shall see.
The weather was amazing. I did get time to do class outside. Neighbours were all active and enjoying the wether immensely as you could hear in their laughter.
Dogs just enjoyed and when they enjoy, I enjoy.
Ms. daisy is gone and I bet sleeping and resting after all the play. Murphy boy and Murphy gal is here. Harlow gal is here. Life is fun!
Today has been a long day as I am in class this entire weekend so I wake up, start class. Do Shlomo on morning break and then get back to it. LOL
My dogs have not been brushed today. I did say would be nice to have some dogs brushed seeing I can't. I think I got ignored. I will play catchup Monday. I will hint more tomorrow with a megaphone.
Off to do the rest of the blogs and clean up.
I am learning but its at a cost.
Akemi is waving her paw to her siblings Raven, Gizmo and Brady. Happy 4th on Nov, 4 @ 4:20 pm!
They say we are staying 17-19c straight through Monday. I am going to play catch up tomorrow with galleries. Just can't do. I have a very busy day tomorrow to make up for no grooming and and all day class on Saturday. I did get a cancellation tomorrow till next week so I am not over the top crazy busy.
Ty visits us tomorrow. So does Ellie, Benji and Leo. Daisy is here till Saturday and Abby and Zoey departed today.
Everyone enjoyed the great outdoors except me. LOL I didn't get a single second in it. Good thing good weather is lasting.
The pups are a heck of a lot of work right now as we - I say me and Dennis are teaching them to go on the pad through repetition. I can't even listen to music during grooming as I have to watch to see if someone gets up so I can run and get them on the pad. Sometimes I am not quick enough. What a crazy process but it does pay off. You only get good things by working your ahem off.
Till tomorrow!
Doesn't look like much but it took days of prep, repairing of leaks and voila now it needs to dry. The side of the house was done too. The other 2 walls are fine - no leaks. So 2020 NO MORE REPAIRS. Why can't I have a hubby that knows how to repair? He loves the dogs so that's worth everything!
We are short blogging it so we can stand outside and soak in the warmth and the dogs are too. Plus I have a class online tonight so.... yes short blogging it all around.
We have several days of warmer weather so we get to pile up the leaves and blow them into the garden and/or mulch with the mower. Let's see if we get it done. Each year the dogs run throuygh the piles and bring a ton of leaves inside. They enjoy it. We enjoy it but don;t enjoy pulling leabes out of their hair and off the floor. You only live once so who cares if fun can mean work too. The fun is worth it!
Pablo the play monkey departed. I think Misty has been looking for him. Ollie is here till anytime. Abby and Zoey are here for a couple of days. Tomorrow Nava comes to visit. I have a class at 7pm so the blogs have to be done before that or after 10pm. LOL Class is from 7 to 10pm via Zoom.
Sounds crazy - well it is. It's like that all week. LOl
It was a fun day for the dogs.
Yes and Murphy departed too and nathan brushed her out as I simply had too many dogs to groom. Thank you, Nathan.
