8 Weeks 5 Days Old

I have to say that Raven has really won my heart in a huge way. The way she is with the pups is amazing. Stormy will play but at times she doesn't realize they are little and you need to compensate. Raven seems to have a gentle touch. We love them both, make no mistake but it was a bonus to have the Raven with this crew. I hope she is the same with Saffron's pups.

Here is today's gallery.

Blogs are short as I am still sick. What am I seeing this week? Choco attempts to win all the time and first born sometimes manages to win. Personalities are still developing and that is why it is so critical that they have this time with their siblings and Mom. This is the period of try, try try to see what I can do and what won't be tolerated. It is a learning process that is critical as they learn to appreciate boundaries. They have been learning this all along but this stage is magnified from now till they go home. I can't imagine sending a puppy home earlier as they would miss this stage that is so necessary, in my honest opinion.

They also use this period to perfect their skills. If you look back at say a 7 week video and the one today, you will notice the difference.

Check out the videos.

As soon as we have all names for the pups we will start calling them their names.

I think Jeannie's character has a lot to do with how gentle her pups grow up to be with other pups. Remember when Patches was coming to spend time with the two litters when we were getting Radar? Patches was incredibly gentle with the pups! ❤️

Yes and they all roll for that belly rub. hahahahaha Jeannie cleans Raven and plays with her every day. She thinks she is staying and she is. For a bit she stayed stand offish. Moms do that allowing them to depart. Think humans do too. Jeannie is mighty happy to have her. raven is pretty endearing much like Patches.

Raven appears to be such a gentle little gal. I liked the pictures of her with Roxie's Golden coloured pup pulling at her hair. I think that when the time comes she will be a great mommy just like Jeannie.
