Tug and More

We are starting to play tug and we are good at it. See this video. We also have an escape artist. If I don't lock the door, he pushe the gate open and voila, he jumps out. We are latching the gate now.

The pups are really doing well. They love the play. Each day is an adventure and the 9 are meshing well. It's about time. I was starting to think it wasn't going to happen and suddenly Roxie's said, I don't think so - enough and thbey started listening. This is a milestone and a necessary learning process. They must learn when a pup yelps, it's time to stop. You are being too rough. Either stop the play or be more gentle. This is something singletons do not learn unless you have another litter. The interaction between siblings and even better other non siblings is critical to their development. They must learn boundaries as they perfect their skills. They seem to be doing so - both litters. Roxie's have had to be able to say no and Adele's needed to learn to listen. That doesn't mean over the next week or so they won't test those boundaries but when you stop the play, they understand. The pups are on their way.

The red sable boy was hold his own in the tug of war against the two apricots! Who is the escape artist?

I guess they prefer that end of the pen as it is closer to the doorway and the house action?

They are all looking great!

Ok, I have to ask. Clarity also LOVES the rolls. so much that she shakes all over until I give them to her. Problem ... She eats the paper as she tears it apart. As a result, I've stopped giving the, to her. Is there an acceptable amount that is ok to eat?

The dogs all seem to love the paper rolls. I tried giving Kona the heavier roll that
comes out of the tin foil. They will always chew them. I let him run around with it, but when he begins to shred it I take it away.

Love the pups all playing tug.

I take it away when they start shredding but a little paper won't hurt them.
