Great Time

Chinook & Roxie

We really, really appreciate the invite from Al & Shelley's and I wish I had known it was Al's birthday. He got to spend the day with us, poor guy. Just some crazy dawg people on his special day but his cake was yum. That's okay. We can make up for it when they come see us in a couple of weeks to drop off Breeze and Chinook.

The company was great. The hosts were amazing and I got to see the dawgs so very happy in this element. It was especially wonderful to see Mommy Abigail and Daddy Kat with their pups.

Unfortunately Nathan was sick and woke us all up at 230am and was half asleep driving all the way home though I kept him busy talking to him.

Roxie was amazing in her water play. As usual Chinook and Breeze are totally in their element but I didn't know how ours would react.

Let's say, Roxie embraced the cold water like it was fun, fun, fun then rolled in the sand. Abigail refused to walk up the stairs and kept wandering exploring. She has other things than water on her mind and well stairs there are way too many of them. Kat got his feet wet, actually played with Chinook at one point and thought he was all that. Spice was over the top enthused and showed it with leaping while she was running on the beach.

Shelley and Al are such great dawg parents. Chinook and Breeze are lucky to have them.

We walked all the dawgs through a farmer's market, through town, on the boardwalk through the places on the water where everyone stopped to say hello. They got cuddles and attention and well that made that special.

I will get the rest of the photos up tomorrow - too tired tonight but here is a few in small size.

We are tired and tomorrow is a busy day. We get to see Logan, Panda, Scruffy and Jlo. It's going to be so much fun and Fiona needs a bath before her visit to the vet on Friday. Friday I have Logan to wash before the vet. Real life is back. hahahaha

We are glad you made it home safely, and got the window up LOL! We so enjoyed having all of you, and thank you for coming to see us! It was just the best to see all 6 of them running and playing on the beach together!

Thank you for the kind words, but we are the lucky ones, to have Breeze and Chinook...and to have become such good friends with you both, and to get to enjoy your crew too.

To all of you Talemaker friends, believe me we are all so lucky, as we have the best dogs, as Darlah and Nathan put so much into it, and to have 4 of their dogs come with to visit, we weren't sure either how it would go, but they are sooo good and all of them are so calm and loving, and you would never know we had 6 Havanese in our small cottage. We can't stop talking about how much fun it was.

And going for the walk today through town, having the 6 of them, it was amazing, and such fun. Who couldn't stop and say hi....but NO they are not Shitzu's...haha!

And Al loved having you on his birthday, and we celebrated his and Nathan's birthday as Nathan's was on Friday, and he got a great hat!

We are looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks, and we look forward to you coming back in early September!

Shelley: That window was interesting. By Exeter it finally went up all the way. We had it fixed before but them it breaks again. Not sure why but maybe inept repair people but I will tell you if it was Nathan's window it would be fixed yesterday.

6 Havanese in one small place is well it was probably scary for you but then as you said they run like hell and then crash and I think Nathan was more noisy at 230am than they ever were but poor guy - couldn't help himself.

We really appreciated the break and I may crawl into bed early as in 15 minutes from now. I do believe we got some fun photos but I forgot to do the one at the fence with the crew so you will have to send that one as I would like to put that on the wall as a memory.

It was amazing that you can walk 6 dogs with no issues and everyone stops to talk to you and them.

Nice place you have - great beach... all of it wonderful and you both are amazing hosts. Thanks for the kind words. I think Abigail crashed in the car and hasn't woken up except to peek since we have been home. I hope she sleeps tonight. May send Nathan into the spare room so we can get an uninterrupted sleep.

Sounds like it was a great time for all. Love the beach photos...they look like they had a great time in the water. Also good to see that Nathan & Darlah get some vacation time in....you always work so hard! Hope Nathan is better soon...nasty virus going around....what unfortunate timing :-(

Darlah: Loved hearing about your mini vacation w/ Shelly & Al and dawgs! Sounds like great fun for all and so well deserved for you both. (Before Fiona's crew arrive.) :-)

Shelly: Your beach looks amazing! It was great to see all the dawgs enjoying it so! I bet all 4 of you walked thru that town very proud w/ all your beautiful canine children!

Funny how often we Havanese owners get asked what kind of dog we have. Then when you tell them 99% have never heard of them. I kind of like that. I remember when we got our 1st Bichon, it was the same thing. Now you see them everywhere.

hi ,i am also asked if stella is a shitzu. when i say havanese i am also asked what the other half (hav) is. i like to think our havanese are special !!

June 7, 2012 | Unregistered Commentervalerie

Yes, it is funny as we are always asked what kind of dog it is too, and obviously were asked that with 6 of them in Grand Bend! They were just all too cute and so good as always! And yes we were such proud parents, as the Havanese are so special :)

How are Laci and Stella doing?

Hi Shelley! Just looked at Darlah's photo gallery. It appears you have a slice of heaven there . . . add Breeze and Chinook and I would imagine it is heaven. :-)

Laci is doing splendidly, thanks! I knew she was special from the 1st moment I laid eyes on her and she is that and even more!

Take care and enjoy your summer!

Hi Debi

Love to hear how much Laci means to you, as we feel the same!

We love the beach and having Breeze and Chinook embrace it the way they do just makes it so much more special.

Darlah said she gave you my e-mail address, and I just want you to know if you sent an e-mail I did not receive it, and don't want you to think I did not reply, as if you did send one it may have not recognized the name and gone to junk or trash, as I have had that happen.

Enjoy your summer also! It is the best season.

Water dawgs like Kat but Kat fizzled out at the beach and it was the Abigail's crew that ruled. :-)

Shelley: - I have not rec'vd your email address as yet . . . in due time, I'm sure.

Darlah: - If you sent it, perhaps it went into my spam file, so could you send again, or perhaps you could give my address to Shelley, whatever which way doesn't matter to me.

We've had such a great day here. 2 of our grands here now, so I'm sneaking a peek at mail. Shhh, don't tell. :-)

Talk later!
