Swim Day

Just Cooper, Brewer and Sparky went swimming today and as I had exercise to do, Nathan brushed them all out and then I did Cooper, Panda and Logan after I was done exercising to brushot and Coops some extra work.

When the dogs go swimming you have to brush them out thoroughly and if they are not short haired they also have to be dried as we have air conditioning on. It is a process but I love the dogs having fun and they did.

As I am tired - long day - arent they all - quit complaining Darlah... the blogs will be short.

In Order: Swimming Cooper, Brewer and Sparky

Today's Gallery

Sorry I didn't have everyone in it. We are trying to figure out how to replace a door on the pool shack and we are not handymen so its time consuming. Plus we had Patches and Abby over so be sure to check out the Jeannie and Spice blog too.

What a great video! Love how the three dogs get to swim with Nathan. He is so patient and encouraging with them. Coop does like to scratch the grass though...he does the same thing at home. Great gallery of photos!

What a great day for Coop, Brewer, and Sparky!

Can't wait to see Scruffy & Pepper swim sometime this summer!!!

Darlah, have you managed to get Inula to swim!?

Inula does not want to go near the pool. She did swim last year. What I have been doing is taking dogs in that are getting baths as swimming means you do all the work as if they are bathed unfortunately. Yesterday I had 3 adults and 2 pups to brush out and dry along with the usual grooming. It is why I am doing blogs at 7 or 8 pm at night. I have to admit I feel as if my exercise hour is impacting any downtime but what's an hour or so they say. Today I have 2 show dogs to get ready for tomorrow, a pack up for the show as Nathan departs at 5am, dogs to brush, Cooper to continue thinning out his coat. 3 plants to transplant - will die if I don't. Paperwork visit for Clarity as she is being rehomed but not going home till when Nathan is away for a week at the end of the month. I have to get Logan and Panda bathed but that will wait till tomorrow. I am not super human. We have Bonham and Tuffy coming and Dallas today. I will not push Inula into the pool though today would be a great day for her to go as she has to be bathed but instead Ella will go and most likely be the only dog in the pool unless I am bathing Dallas, Tuffy or Bonham then swimming doesn't matter. Does that make sense but we will get Scruffy and Pepper in or try to next visit depending on the weather. With Scruffy sporting a new short haircut done by Lori it shouldn't be time consuming to blow dry. We will get there. I wish they all had short 1 inch hair as we would have them in the pool every day. Kat has only swam once this season due to having to have a brush out and blow dry. Nathan explained to someone yesterday that it was we that had to do a brush out and blow dry fully with each dog if they swim and I corrected him and said no its ME. Then there are dogs that do not want to swim and really if they are protesting too much then its counter productive. They are supposed to do it as its fun. Not all dogs or humans like to swim. But we love taking them in. I just wish it wasn't so much work to get them dry. Just letting them air dry you still have to comb them out several times as they dry to eliminate tangles. Why can't they blow dry themselves - hahahahahaha

Anne: Inula and Cooper had a blast together! Cooper was wet and frisky and Inula took that as an invitation to chase and run. I hardly got any of the video as they were running so fast up the deck, down the deck, through the paths. It was fun to watch and I should have had a camera up high taking in the yard so we could have captured it all.

What a wonderful video. Darlah, you are so terrific with the cameras and Nathan is a great model with all the work he does adjusting the dogs to things like the pool. 'Maybe' Abby and Patches can swim next time with their summer cuts. Liz and I will be there to do the brushing..... I can't imagine bathing and brushing all the long haired dogs the way you do. I think it is amazing you do all the things you do. You really are terrific!

Loved the video and photos. It looked like Cooper and Inula had some running fun.
