What a Day

We have been busy. Despite the human being busy we managed to have a LOT of fun. We ran, we played, we lounged. We played a mad game of get the ball. Just can't play the game and take a video. <sigh> We will have to repeat when Nathan is here. Here is a gallery when I did have a camera in hand.

Ella didn't get anything in the show and Inula lost to Val's Yeshi this morning and then Inula beat Yeshi for 3 points to what I believe is her championship. I will call in on Monday and verify but I am pretty sure she is a new champion and Nathan got a photo saying such. Val's Yeshi just got his championship as well. We are proud of them! How we are crossing our fingers Ella gets something tomorrow. It would be nice to finish her championship and concentrate on Saffron.

Oh and I have had a terrible weekend. Besides the fact we are waking u at 4am and have to do it again and when he gets home I have to wash them (he's not home yet), Dennis by accident sent my android Nexus 7 32gb in the pool and he tried to revive it but its toast. I am so sad. Then later today a bottle of shampoo fell all over the floor on my dryer, my dog dryer, the walls, the floor and it was purple. I am washing towels I had to use to clean it up and it took a mere 2 hours to do so.

Waiting for the ax to drop on something else. Oh yeah think the pool pump is almost gone so maybe that's the 3rd thing.

I need a stiff drink but still got show dogs to wash when Nathan finally gets here. At this rate I wil be washing till midnight then up at 4. Joy.

Oh my what a disaster. At least you had fun with all the dogs and great news for Inula and Nathan. I am sure Ella will come home a Champion. Getting up so early is rough. Tomorrow will be a beautiful day. Hope you have time to rest and enjoy the pool.

Ella has a way to her championship. It's complicated but even though she beats a great deal of dogs in Best Puppy in Group it is a non pointed win - just bragging rights. If she beats less dogs for winners dog, best of opposite etc she gets points. This is a difficult weekend as these are very much pro judges. It means they lean their wins to the professional handlers and throw a bone to the non pros. Val is a pro. She has been showing for 40 plus years since childhood. If you get paid to show a dog you are designated as a pro. Val does and she knows the judges well. She selects her judges carefully so she gets the wins. Even though we have been doing this a long time we still do not know all the judges. We do know the ones that never even look at your dog unless you are a pro and that was when Val won. Yeshi is a stunning dog but he didn't act right in the ring. He wouldn't behave. Inula did but Yeshi won. Showing is like ice skating and sometimes its who you know that gets you the wins. Sometimes I am not sure why we even show. But Inula is a stunning dog and Ella is too and is the best in the ring this weekend but she is not winning. When the pros come up and tell you that your dog is the best and that they could get its championship in a weekend - well... I have to remind myself that the best dogs are not necessarily the best winners. Due to Nathan being a non pro, showing Ella and doing well for a non pro we have people (pros) wanting us to repeat a breeding so they can get a dog just like her or worse they are doing bidding for Ella. For some its all about the win. She is recognized as a stunning dog but if we throw a couple of thousand at a pro she would have been a champion in a weekend. Then what I could have bought a championship like so many do? I recognize everyone needs to make a living but winning should be strictly about the dog and everyone should bring in someone else's dogs and then see who wins.

How frustrating!! Things like that make me crazy. Ella is such an amazing and stunning dog and the fact that the pros know it says it all.

I know someone who dropped an iPhone in water. They were told to put it in a box of dry rice and that would absorb the water. It worked, but they got it into the rice pretty quickly. Probably too late now, but thought I'd pass it on.

We got it into rice immediately after removing the cover and drying it off. It has not helped. We were fast too.

My friend left it in the rice for a week - maybe it just needs longer?

Well we are trying and ots back to sitting in rice but really I don't have a huge hope. Love a miracle.
