Oh What a Day

Is the day bad luck or good luck. I guess it depends on your perspective but this is how my day went so far and it's just morning.

I woke up to loose bowels with Spice's pups (normal after mom is no longer on antibiotics from her c-section). It will resolve itself as it does. It's just bloody messy and always happens after mom is no longer on antibiotics. No one is losing and everyone is gaining. It's just lots of work.  9 pups is a lot to clean AND dry.

As it was night time and Dennis didn't want to wake anyone up he took wipes and wiped pups down but he must have missed some so I woke up to a change of blankets, washing each pup cause even if they didn't have loose stools they rolled in it. Such fun. I literally had to rinse out and scrub each blanket too before it went into the wash or it wouldn't come out.

Then I carried too many glasses that Dennis left in my office to the kitchen and one fell and broke.

The morning newspaper wasn't covered and was soaken wet.

If that wasn't enough Satch fell in the pool and I have to wash him but he's not going home till tomorrow so he was rinsed and dried and will be washed tomorrow. He seems to have delighted in the experience. It's cold in that pool as its not yet heated but he surely didn't mind. What posessed him, I don't know. This craziness is why we always are out with the dogs - always.

Then our son calls us to tell us our daughter in law thinks she is in labor and they are at the hospital in Las Vegas. She is 4.5 weeks too early (they were moving to a house out of a condo in 2 weeks) and they are now monitoring her to decide what to do.

The day has just begun.

How is your day going?

I normally don't give Friday the 13th much consideration but today it is living up to its reputation. I had to be at the place I volunteer by 8 am. Our power went out so my alarm didn't go off - woke up late. I was rushing to get there and every time I made a turn, I got behind a bus with flashing lights. Finally got there and was rushing into the building and slipped on mud. I didn't hurt myself but I was covered in mud. The rest of the shift wasn't much better. Hopefully both of our days will turnaround and we will have good luck for the rest of the day.

i too try not think about Friday the 13th however today is different. Woke up this morning to make the kids breakfast before school, my daughter asked for bagel with cream cheese. I was slicing the bagel in half and sliced my finger too. Blood gushed, I got light headed, fell and hit my head on the freezer door. Luckily, my daughter called my sister who lives 2 blocks away (hubby had already left for work) , she came over, helped us out. Thankfully, I'm feeling better just a bump on my head.

Yup this is some day ! Been in a hassle all day with a hospital trying to resolve issues around discharging my brother from the hospital after surgery a couple of days ago and then my 14 year old niece ends up in the emergency ward of the same hospital because some boy in Grade 11 put drugs in her soft drink at lunch ! Let's get this day over with !!

Hope everyone's day got better. Ours wasn't so bad...I started packing for our move, three boxes, while Coop and his human daddy either had a nap or played. Satch, what a little devil...jumping into the pool. I bet he loved every minute of it!

Havoc had his booster shot today, without lepto. We left Tobias and Havoc alone for an hour while we did some errands and came home to Havoc not moving and crying when I picked him up. I thought maybe Tobias had played too roughly with him and he got hurt, since Havoc hasn't reacted to any other vaccines. Anyway, a few hours of him sleeping and me crying, he's up running around and playing like nothing happened. No more vet appointments on Friday the 13th.

What an unbelievable start to the day you've had, Darlah! I sure hope it has improved like mine has.

My son was born on Friday the 13th and today is actually his birthday. It has always been a lucky day for me. Not gloating, just grateful. Good thing they don't happen too often given the day you all had!!

Sorry to hear about the trials and tribulations experienced by you and others on this Friday the 13th. Living close to Port Dover, where every Friday the 13th is marked by a huge influx of motorcyclists who converge on the town, it is hard not to be aware of the date as so many motorcycles are on our roads, it is incredibly loud. Thankfully this is the only Friday the 13th this year. Some years there are 4! Yikes. Hope everyone's day improved.

Mary Lou: That doesn't sound fun but I do know some havanese people that go there for the event.

Sherry: It's been a day. They did send my daughter-in-law home as she is only at 4 centimeters and figure tonight or tomorrow. But I am reminded she is still 4 weeks early. <sigh> Glad you have a special thing to remember on this day such as your son. It surely gives you the flip side and I am glad for you!

Diane: Ouch... did he have any other reaction such as a bump or soreness? Sometimes its just the way the shot is given. Glad you day got better. I haven't stopped so hoping it's bed time soon. hahahaha. I am typing and eating at the same time.

Anne:

So it begins.... Hope its not too hectic for you and everything falls into place.

Oh Maureen: That's terrible truly. Hope the day sorted itself out or go to bed soon like me and pretend it didn't happen.

Mary: That's awful. Hope you are much better now. Glad you had those close to help. Truly glad you are okay. Had to be scary.

Karen: Glad the slip wasn't worse though muddy is not fun. Really glad you are okay. Now that it is in the past, I hope you can laugh about the muddy day. I do when the dogs are head to toe in mud or I may cry. :-)

Ruth: Katie is more than fined and having a great time.

Patricia: Yeah and thank you!

On a better note, we are all alive and lived another day.

NEWS: Toys R Us has lamaze toys in sale. If you can't find them in consignment shops, they make great toys for the pups.

OMG by comparison, I had a normal day.
I hope Saturday morning finds everything back to normal for all !!

Diane what a big worry to see little Havoc crying and feeling so sore after his shot.

Anne, three boxes packed, I know how you feel. Kona and I will also be moving
perhaps as early as July 28th. There is so much to do..
Kona seems to be a little quiet, perhaps he does not like changes that are happening.

Thank you Darlah! Sending positive vibes to everyone :)

Satch is funny. He didn't mind at all. We always have someone out with the dogs. But Satch would have found his way out as he was heading to the stairs. Smart dog!

Change is hard on the dogs when you have showings and packing etc as they don't get it. But with familiar furniture and things that they are fond of they do adjust especially cause they have their humans.

I am so sorry to hear about all the Friday the 13th events. Spooky! Glad the day got better for all of you and no one has any lingering pain. Hope the loose bowls are better and you don't have to clean 9 little ones again Darlah. Good night all, sleep tight.
