Warm Fall Day

We had a busy day. Last night we had a baby squirrel we assumed fell out of a high nest - actually 2 did. One didn't make it. We assumed an animal got to it as the head was not attached. It was a brutal thing to see. The other one looked okay but how can you tell. Dennis did research. Knew the mother would not be back till early morning and placed it in a box in our basement. Come morning he placed it back out and had a camera on it so he saw mom come to get her baby. He removed the dead squirrel. He did a good thing. When we got up this morning, it was about the same time mom came so we had to let the dogs use pads and stay inside till she came for her baby.
Needless to say, Dennis didn't sleep much worrying. What can we say - we are softies.
Tomorrow we have puppy visits and the pups had baths. See their blogs. They are fluffy puppies.
Weather was warm but didn't get a change to enjoy it. Too much to do.
Dogs did enjoy the weather and Dennis.
Nathan is on his way to a wedding with Bowie the chocolate dog we have boarding with us. He was Hallie's baby and Truffie. They want wedding photos and the wedding is in Newmarket. We did this for Remy too. It added an extra fun to the wedding and it makes it special.
Nathan is always willing to help with this sort of thing.
I am tired but looking forward to showing off the puppies.

Seems late on the year for baby squirrels, we had the same situation with us catsitting a cat that was pregnant, it's life, we don't understand everything.
Oh I'd love to a picture of Bowie at the wedding,đź””
Dennis thinks these were about 4 weeks old. I am not sure how he assessed this but I can ask, if you want to know. Just asked him. I think he compared ages with photos online.
If you send me your email to darlah@potechin.com I will send you the photos Nathan took at the wedding.
Sounds like something a crow would do. I’ve seen them do awful things to bunnies.
Debi: Interesting. We thought maybe a racoon but we will never know. Was a horrid sight. Dennis was beside himself as he saw it 1st.
