Memory Lane

Zoe
(Written by Nathan)

I know this is silly but it’s me. Earlier today we were thinking we’d not seen a miniature Schnauzer named Zoe in quite some time. Zoe was the rare exception we made for a non-Havanese. She had stayed with us many times. She played wonderfully with the Havanese. In fact, I think she thought she was a Havanese when she was with us. She could leap and bound even higher than our enormously agile Spicy and her kids, something we rarely see but loved watching as she ran and played with our Havanese. So Darlah reached out to her owners.

Sadly we got back an email saying that the dog had died of some autoimmune disease at 4 years of age. It is bad enough they don’t live as long as us in the first place. That is just way too soon to lose a beloved friend and it certainly brought tears to my eyes. It was so unexpected. It has, for them, already been some time. For us it is like it just happened. They recently got a new puppy. I just wanted to say that I will miss that wonderful miniature Schnauzer that played with the Havanese like she was one of the family.

Not Many Words: Lots of Photos

We had a lot more photos but I am out of steam. Everyone and I mean everyone is having a blast. WE took a break from grooming and will be back at it tomorrow. The dogs just had fun, fun, fun and so did the humans.

Now to figure out what to make for dinner.

Holiday Wishes and More

Cooper joins Russell and I in wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas.

May 2015 bring prosperity and health to all.

Lots of Love and Hugs to all humans and canines!

Anne, Russell and Cooper

-------

Hope it's a wonderful holiday for the 3 of you! May it be filled with warm moments that make you smile. Give an extra big hig to the Coops from us at Talemaker!

-------

I have to laugh. Ziggy was giving what I call the stink eye to Shoshi. Ziggy wanted to play with Roxie and Shoshi being the proactive gal that she is said no, I am your gal. It was such a riot to watch. I think Roxie enjoyed the attention. Oh Ziggy gave in and did play with Shoshi. She got her way - amazing for an older gal!

Oreo has been having a blast but I am getting the idea he likes the tv room the best when you are in it. He loves to snuggle in and get extra comfie and when I get time in the tv room so do I!

I didn't get a clear photo of Cora but hes been playing wonderfully with Ziggy and Ella. We have had a no brush day today so the gang can have a break and I can too. After yesterday's dematting of one my hand was aching so we will get back to brush and combing tomorrow.

Thank you ever so much to Phyllis, Caitlin and Magic for the rum cake.

We are chilling today. It's a lot of emotional and physical work when pups depart, dogs to groom, mud to take off the floors due to too warm weather so dogs track muck in etc.

So forgive me that this is short.

We wish everyone a wonderful and SAFE holiday. Give the dogs a hug from us. We are thinking of each and every one of them that we share our lives with.

Holiday Season Greetings

Wishing you a joyful, restful holiday season!

Bailey and Bella

-----

Was going to do a long blog but can't. Between a family gathering, dematting a dog, washing a pup for the next day, washing 3 going home, and the usual stuff well today was a tad crazy. Will update the rest of the blogs but forgive me for being fried and I am! May have a drink and chill or try after blog is done.

Greetings

Be sure to check out Spice's blog for a holiday greeting. It sorely needed a freshen up so I placed the last photo we received there.

I can't believe Maddie departs today and Caelen tomorrow. Gerda's trio also depart but Benji (the Katie look alike) just blasted in for a visit and a grooming today. I think he has Katie's personality.

Happy Holidays

The puppies and dogs want to say a huge thank you to those that gave them soft blankies, treats and toys for the holidays and throughout the year. Wow. Those that thought of us... wow! Not necessary but wow! There are some really extra special people in our lives. You know who you are. Thank you!

I am so very thankful for those that I have met via the dogs who have allowed me to be a part of your dog's lives. The dogs have given me so much and so have the humans that have said thank you in so many ways even just sharing their dogs with us. We do try. Words can't convey how special it is to be able to say thank you to you. The dawgs who visit do it throughout the year with snuggles and hugs. Some do it by coming in worried about the world and going home not so much. These are moments I treasure. Some do it by hanging back and watching and then one day they are playing. Some do it by saying . "I am here" with a bounce in their step. I must say I love them all!

I just want to say thank you everyone and I do hope your holidays are grand ones. We do not do much here. I am not even going to be able to find the time to make a holiday meal. It is just too crazy busy. Most of our kids are scattered all over plus the holidays is when we are working the most. What we try to do is do what we can so others can enjoy. It sounds silly but it gives us great pleasure to do so even if I am exhausted. Something satisfying about making life easier for others so they don't have to worry about their dawgs.

So, on that note, thank you all that have given yourself so freely, those that traveled far to share your dawgs with us. You and the dawgs are what makes this all worth it!

And Lori.... look for that photo on the wall. You will see it in tomorrow's going home photo. The rest... wow!

Val, Stella is still on the wall. I am just adding to my wall of memories.

Anne and Russell Inula thinks you are the reindeer antler Santa. She is working her way through all. Guess her jaw is a tad different than a havanese. Thank you for everything.

Thank you everyone... I mean that sincerely and I do hope your holiday creates memories that last a lifetime. Treasure them as I treasure my time with all of you and your dawgs!

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Motley Crew

Gerda's 3 do not mind me brushing them up but you can't tell here. They are snuggling and waiting for my tv time but no tv time till Pepper and Scruffy depart. Yes, Kizmet is snuggling. Oh and I think Tre remembers the place now. heh

Brewer also came for a visit. He had a blast but he usually does.

Just finished bathing Scruffy and Pepper. Will wait an hour and touch them up again before they go home. If I don't Lori won't think I even bathed them. Oh, they are having fun. Rather brush them up twice though and let them play.

Holiday Season

Hi Darlah and Nathan,

I hope that you and your family (fur and human, alike) are all keeping well! We just received our engagement photos and I wanted to share them with you - Mia absolutely stole the show!! She was born to be photographed lol. I hope that we can make some time to come for a visit in the new year, but in the meantime, please enjoy the photos I have attached. Feel free to share!

How is everything going for you guys? How are the pups and your grandchildren?

Mia is doing so well. She has two new (human) baby cousins and one on the way, and she absolutely adores them. I can't get over how great she is with kids of all ages!! She is absolutely adored and loved by all of us, but by Mommy and Daddy especially. :-)

I hope that you and your loved ones have a wonderful holiday season and an even better new year! I look forward to catching up soon.

Love,

Alyssa & Mia

------

Got a bunch of photos with Mia and her human parents. I had to share this one above. She is a tiny beauty. She always makes me smile wide when I see her!

Thought I'd send a picture of Molly at work. She was relaxing the students at George Brown Waterfront Campus as they were preparing for their exams.

Lots of fun.

Fondly,

Susan and Molly

------

We are so very proud of Molly!

I love this time of year as people think about sending photos and truly it brings me smiles to read how they are and see these photos. So, Happy Holidays all and thank you for sharing.

Gerda and her sister dropped in with talk of shopping at Yorkdale - holiday madness. I hope they survive or laugh hard about it instead of frustration.

Tre hasn't been here since he departed. He didn't appear to know the house though seemed to know me which made my day. Not sure if he totally knows Nathan - go figure even with his puppy, puppy puppy. But after the humans departed the dogs settled in as we suspected. I had all 3 on my lap while we watched the finale of the Voice. Okay, we were late but we fit in things where we can. Nathan's thoughts are they like females as we are the sensitive, insightful ones. hahahaha I am enjoying the extra attention and to add to the mix I had Scruffy and Pepper teleport to my lap so all 5 were cuddling in. Kismet wasn't so sure about this at first so she looked to get down and then went oh what the hey and settled in. I laughed.

Life is grand when you have dawgs on your lap!

TV Room & Drying

Its a mighty wet day out so the crew has spent a lot of time going out and coming in to chill in the tv room. We also have had some mad play sessions in the hallways of retrieve.

We have now finished getting everyone bathed, pads cleaned up and nails done all to have to do it in a few more weeks. We groom daily so baths more frequently is not needed unless they start matting. If they do that is an indicator that they need a bath more frequently. I am glad I got things done including the puppy bags in time for holiday visitors.

Be sure to check out Panda, Roxie's and Jeannie's blogs as all have updates.

Nathan is off to handling class with Inula tonight. Today we took Inula, Roxie and Ella to Petsmart just to expose them. Ella shook for a second and then forgot about it when she saw all the toys and treats. Inula had fun looking at the daycare dogs and riling them up. Really, Inula. In my opinion that is an awfully small room for that many dogs but not my business. Oh well. I do love the dogs.

Crazy Times

No time for updates. I will tell you why. I am busy getting my dogs washed before the Christmas rush where I will be doing other dogs. Clean dogs maintain easily vs. dirty dogs. The only issue is Mother Nature is not cooperating but we persist. Tomorrow I have Truffie and Jeannie and baths other than pups are done and then I have time for those wanting them to look good for Christmas.

On Thursday I am beyond excited. I get to see Gerda, Tre and meet Kizmet and Cali (Gerda's crew). She is doing some holiday seasonal things with family. She is visiting from Alberta and I get to spend time with them till Saturday. Not long enough but I will take what I can get.

Sometimes fun things happen.

Dogs are having fun despite me bathing them. Its quiet - just our crew and tomorrow after Nathan picks up a few things I will get all the puppy bags finished. So, it all begins.

I also plan to play catchup with the Voice. We are so far behind.

Its a wet and muddy day out. Here's a few photos I managed to click.

Brewer was also here but I kept catching his back end as he was flying around this place like a maniac having fun! Cora also was playing his heart out.

It was a fun but mighty messy day!

Happy Holidays

Thought you might enjoy a festive picture of Miss Laci, our favourite daughter.  :-)  (I didn't say that!)

Laci sends good wishes to all Talemakers, human and canine.  And most importantly she wishes you all a Happy & Healthy 2015!

------

Think I will leave this blog with just Laci so she can stand out and wish you all a grand holiday season.

I am rather tired. Holidays means highly busy for us so our blogs are thin so bear with us.

Treasure Visit

It was a great visit. Treasure was wonderful and it was great to spend time with her human Momma. Here are some photos of today. Most are of Treasure - sorry. Scruffy and Pepper and Magic are also here. Magic departs shortly. We are also experiencing the great melt.

When it was time to go, she was at the front door then out to teh car and a quick jump into the car. She is still as agile as ever and she loves her human Mommy. I am so blessed for that! Now off to brush Magic so she can go home after a full day of play.

We are also missing the Coops who thought Spice shot the moon but Ella was everything he desired. hahahaha

Thankful

Woke up today to a long note on my computer from Dennis. He managed to get me up and going - he saves all old computer parts - thankfully. My software now works and the dust is gone from my computer which Dennis complained about profusely. My computer is saved for another day until I am forced to get a new one that Dennis can build. Got to save my tips but so many other things take priority. I used to build them but in my old age I have become lazy or less patient with troubleshooting. It is debatable which.

Today Treasure and her Mom is coming to visit. It is the first time she is coming here since she went to her forever home. We have gone downtown to see her. I sit here wondering how she will react. There are new faces for her and old faces that have departed. Nathan says Treasure was always his dog but in reality she was mine. Last time we saw her she 90% of the time focused on me. We will see how the day goes. I hope she spends 90% with Nathan so he can smile and brag about it. I do love him so!

We Got It

We got that white stiff and boy did the dogs have a blast. We also have Gracie, Milo and Hugo here who will depart tomorrow. They are here for a wash and clip.

Inula was such a crazy dog along with Jeannie who wanted to go out non stop. Its as if it snowed for them. Oh the rest loved it too but they were over the top.

Also the new magazine is out and check out who is on the cover. Is your dog in the magazine? You will have to take a look and see.

Hugo says - what is that white stuff?

Fun was had by all and our last run will be at 930ish.

Issues Updating

I am having issues updating so we shall see how this goes. We had bonham and Tuffie's parents over. We also have Ozzie here and although they sniffed and started to play a bit the brothers didn't go wild and crazy. We will have to do it again. Here are a few photos from today.

Yes, it was cold out but....

Just some play and we enjoyed our visit!

Quiet It Is

We went out today as we always do and it didn't feel cold at first as there was so much fun going on and as the time went by the gloves went on and the pups were cold. It was time to come inside and play upstairs. Here are a few of the moments I captured.

Don't you just love this pose?

As you can see Ozzie is a play monkey.

The Daisy finds Ozzie awfully fun or is that he finds her fun?

Do you get the feeling Ozzie goes from one to the next to the next? He's going to be so exhausted tonight.Ozzie and his mom!

This was yesterdays fun shot.

Oh Panda even messy you are beautiful!

Ella and Roxie remain tight!I had to add this. This is Ozzie on top of Jeannie. There are really 3 dogs in this photo.Roxie says... you want???It's all MINE!Just another very sedate day at our humble abode!
