No Gallery Day

Risa enjoyed doing a watch over the pups. Due to so much going on there are no galleries. We have Abigail, Bentley and Fitz visiting. I will try to do a gallery tomorrow or Monday. I seriously need down time and I have all my grooming stuff to put back. Then I have the fun of turning the family room into a family room again.

Tomorrow night we will have a Jeannie and an Adele pup left. They will both remain. Goal is to get the next generation of Jeannie pup and the next of Adele. Jeannie's pup has an attitude. We are the right people to turn that around positively. They will be going to bed with us tomorrow night. Adele and River will move with our daughter close by. It seems they are feverishly finishing a basement to make that happen. I will have my summer clothes storage closet back. :-) I will see her frequently, I hope. Too many changes but happy for her.

We took the cabinets off above our appliances in the kitchen. We have to reduce the cabinets but for now its okay. We just finished hooking up a waterline to the dryer as its a steam one. Had to drill a hole for the waterline. Cleaned out the laundry tub cabinet, fixed a door and put all the stuff back. Still have to get a new vent for dryer but the old one will do till then. Dryer vent is coated and we can't seem to blow out the lint from it. So, we will start anew. Vent is very old too.

We had 2 puppies depart today.

What have we learned? If you do not rake before fall is done all winter long you bring in leaves - no lie.

Dogs are happy. Nathan made them some steak that had thawed. They all went yum yum.

I have yet to eat nor had some down time. Nathan is coverd with dogs watching tv. Can I too?

Still got things to do. So no gallery.... sorry.

What a Day

Okay no galleries today. I did manage to get everyone brushed out today but oh boy can this day go away?

Nathan started out this morning going to the podiatrist for an infected foot. He should have went days ago. Then the day began.

It's hard enough saying goodbye to the pups but the delivery guys was major late. The appliances finally got here. They are too tall so now they are plugged in hanging out in the kitchen while we try to figure out what to do with the cabinets above.

I must say I am SO glad it wasn't I who measured the space. I just shook my head and laughed. The timing wasn't great either as Gizmo's dad was waiting and he came into a disaster of a kitchen and us laughing about the fiasco. I think Nathan appreciated that I was laughing vs being mad but my motto is ^%$# happens and if you can't laugh... well you make life unbearable. There are always solutions - well I hope.

I had to put my grooming table back. I had to set up my dryers, hook up a dryer (need a new vent but I got it working till we get one) and then had to wash and take photos of 2 pups that are departing tomorrow. I can't even find all my supplies as what I needed was certainly at the bottom of a box vs. on top.

I still have a ton to put away and organize. I am blogging now and eating as I do. I have so much to do but the fridge is working cause we plugged it in despite not fitting and so is the freezer. The dryer I picked and measured fit perfectly. hahahaha

So those coming tomorrow you can laugh too as that is all we can do at the moment as we mull over a possible solution.

No Update Today

I am on overload. Good news and bad. We are defrosting freezer, cleaning out fridge for tomorrow delivery and we have a pup going home. Them we have class. To top it off Nathan bit the bullet and got the dryer as it was no extra charge for delivery.

So, I am cleaning out that room to make room for the dryer to come out and a new one to go in. How I am going to get my grooming table out, the towels out, my supplies etc and wash and clean out behind the dryer - well I may not sleep tonight. Inevitably there are always things that fall behind and need to be cleaned. Plus it all has to go BACK!

We still do not know when delivery will be but we have 2 pups going home so we will be juggling tomorrow and then all that stuff has to go back - oh I said that - a nightmare. By Sunday after the last pup goes home, I may fall dead asleep.

So, no upload. I am sure you understand.

Nathan will clean up the kitchen after cooking before the pup departure but the rest is on Dennis and I. Hmm why is that?

Nathan is not doing well with his arthritis and foot infection so he gets to take care of him. Maybe he will take care of me on Sunday. hahahaha

The Times

This is an old photo of Adele. I didn't have time to click a camera.

I spent 3.5 hours dematting a dog. Please use a comb to find knots before they get felted - please. My hands hurt as I was gentle as can be with this dog but that long on a table is not fun for human or dog. I did not need to lose 4 hours of a day with what I have on my plate. But I am thankful it wasn't left longer.

What else is new?

Let's see our freezer and fridge (2 units died or almost died. They are both going on 25 years old so I shouldn't complain. The issue is it takes 4 to 5 hours to defrost the freezer and come Friday (yes watch them come when pups are going home) we get our replacements. It was either then or the end of the month. The freezer frosts up in hours so you can't even see what food you have in it. The fridge/freezer unit barely keeps things cool.

So, we need to empty a fridge and defrost and empty a freezer by Friday morning. I am laughing. So thank you to those that got their paperwork in. I also have class tomorrow night so Dennis said I will do it - no worries.

Now, I hope I do not come home to an insane amount of work. I may. I know from defrosts previously I had to do 4 loads of towels soaking up the water. I also figure Dennis will be heaving food. I have that strange feeling. So is it worth that to get out of the work? Stay tuned. Plus I have 2 pups to wash tomorrow and 1 going home before class.

Rocco departs tonight and that leaves only Adele and Bentley. Saffron is in deep - I want the Stone mode. No one else is in heat. So, I should count my blessings, I suppose.

I stayed up till 1130 last night doing bags to go home with pups.

So, no photos. I will try tomorrow. I will also be taking photos of the class tomorrow night.

Snow Fun

Run, Run, Run! There's white stuff out there sadly going to turn into mush and ice. So, we maximized our time playing. Be sure to check out the pup photos as some of the adults were out with the pups.

Here is the gallery.

Rocco departs tonight. We will miss him. He is one of the dogs that got to play with the pups.

I am frantically trying to do bags, and paperwork and well it's interesting so the blog is short again.

We also have a dying freezer and fridge so we have been researching that. The dryer is going too so this could be interesting. I guess I should be glad they lasted over 20 years. hahahaha

Update Day

Mr. Chiclet is a Roxie puppy. He is so adorable. Now he has a smile on his face!!

Clarity also has a smile on her face. See Havanese do show you their emotions. Clarity is a Panda pup.

Archie's mom apologizes for not getting her holiday photo in. I just received it yesterday and figured you wouldn't mind a post holiday photo. Archie is a Spice pup.

PS: Aren't they simply gorgeous?

Is This Sunday?

Did you know your havanese smile? This is Pixie. She's not our breeding but she comes to visit us and we lovd it. If you look close, she is smiling. She is about to get a treat and that pleases her.

Here is today's gallery.

We had a low key day today. It was way too cold. When it is very cold we still go out but we do many outdoor visits vs.  less and longer. When I say frequent, I think one of us went out with the dogs at least every 20 minutes. We all had our turns. It sounds silly but the dogs love the outdoors but if it is too cold they will sniff but not run and then they come in after the cold and play as they are frisky after all that cold.

Adele and Bentley was walking up and down and over me all night long. I am not sure I got any sleep but I so tried. At 5am, I gave up. Bentley wanted Adele and Adele wanted me and Jeannie and Ella and Spice and Truffie all wanted me and oh yea Leti too.

Most of our remaining holiday visitors depart tomorrow. Tuesday I will take a break fropm grooming and do paperwork and bags for departing pups. It's so crazy busy that I can't think and that's good to be busy when they depart.

So many changes starting this week. Emptier house all across the board...

Visitors

Sorry but this has been a long day. This is Ms. Abigail. She is mother to Roxie and Adele. I have not seen her in a long time. She seems to be very happy to see us especially me and I am delighted.  Bentley, her son (Adele's brother) is also here. Same haircut and it is hard to tell them apart.

I do not have any galleries and I suppose I could go out and click some and do a last minute gallery but I am going to restrain myself. I will click tomorrow when we are more awake.

Holiday vistors are winding down. Then I have bags and paperwork to do for the pups going home.

Busy times are getting quieter.

Day is Going

Saffron is in heat - joy. No, she is not being bred this time not even by accident. hahahaha

Thyme is now 7lb 6 oz. She is growing like a weed. Tenshi and Thyme adore each other. Look at the gallery to see their interaction.

Dogs had a blast today. Chase, Socks and Bailey departs tomorrow. They will be missed.

Got lots to do - sorry so it's a short blog today.

Very Busy Day

Winston Being Cheeky

Rosie (Emmy's pup)

Winston and Bissli

It's a busy day. I still have 1 dog to groom after I finish the blogs. Nathan is at class with Thyme. I was unable to go due to my full day. I did 9 dogs so by bed it will be 10. Oh boy.

Today's Gallery.

So short blogs tonight.

Everyone is having fun. I am unmotivated to do my 10th dog but I must. Tomorrow pups and 4 dogs.

Feeling awful as I had to miss Thymes first class. But going and doing a dog and blogs at 9pm is a bit insane.

Windy Cold

We went from rain to it dropping in temps with mighty big wind. The dogs loved it!

Here is the gallery.

It's interesting that when it gets windy the dogs really get spirited. They love that cool nip in teh air where we bundle up. It's a dawgs life, I tell you.

Dennis said the dogs had a ton of fun while we were at the vets.

Skylar and Barney have departed.

Tomorrow Thyme has class. I hope I can go but we shall see. I also have a very full day grooming to make up for today. Friday washing moms, pups and 5 others. I may be asleep come Saturday. hahahaha

Oh well... it's been a day. Now it is tv time with dogs on laps.

Rainy Times

It's pouring all day so hardly any photos today. It just happens when you spend more time drying amd combing than you do clicking. Here is Holly after her bath and trim. She's now home.  Amazing what a bath can do.

We also have 2 brothers here, Charlie and Rocco and they look so much alike. You can see them in the gallery.

As I said, hardly amy photos - mostly just Holly, Rocco and Charlie. Sorry about that. Tomorrow will be lean too as we have the vet.

Messy Times I Swear

I want you to laugh. Both Pixie and Leo was brushed and combed out today. Can you tell? Dogs that plau look a mess even after grooming. That's okay.

The non Havanese departed today plus the Gidget. They adapted quite nicely. When you get that many leaving at once, it feels so quiet. Connor also departed and Oreo is going tonight.

Holly, Patched and Radar depart tomorrow. Poor Holly is going to need a mega bath after all this play.

Skylar is relaxed and playing with the pups now. We alsways make sure it comes together. It is nice to see when it does.

Here is today's gallery. I think Dennis and Nathan took the photos.

This Saturday Abigail and Bentley will arrive. Abigail is Roxie and Adele's mom. Bentley is Abigail's son.

Ice Times

We had a melt earlier than the temperatures dropped. That meant it left everything covered with a sheet of ice. We had to be careful and so did the dogs.

Gidget who has been visiting us all her life and was best pals with Wasabi decided she only wanted to go outdoors for short visits. Risa was the same. The ice on the feet always bother the very young and the older dogs. We also had the pups out and their feet got cold very fast. So, it is not comfie for those with sensitive pads. I did put bag balm on the dogs to protect their feet.

Although the temps didn't drop tremendously it was the ice that bothered them. So, although we got photos, we got only some with movement.

Here is the gallery.

We still managed to have delicious fun.

Radar and Patches arrived and already found their comfort level.

Murphy and Murphy (girl and boy) departed today.

Tomorrow Oreo and Connor departs. They will be missed.

We Had a Blast

The dogs had a blast. Everyone was playing at one time or another.

Skylar's pack mate (Skylar is Rowan's pup) showed up. Leo is Emmy's pup. They remembered each other immediately and has been playing their hearts out ever since. Every now and then Amy and Thyme join in but it is obvious these 2 were happy to see each other.

Skylar is also not reacting to the pups as if they are Martians anymore. We will have to try Leo to see how he does. We will do that tomorrow.

Here is a large gallery of the dogs today. Yeah, I took photos. Dennis took some and I think Nathan also did. If you listen to Nathan he says I do too many photos and videos. heh.

But here we are. It's the end of the year and we are having fun. Daisy departed. Penny departed. They are already missed.

The New Year lies ahead
With dogs to be fed,
And adventures to be led.
May you find fulfillment and joy
All year long with your havanese!

May 2017 be the best yet!

Nails and More

Today Nathan got in his - who needs their nails done mode. Here he is checking Chase. He likes to do them here and there vs. just at bath time. This way if nail cutting bothers them they won't relate it to the bath. It's a smart way of doing it.

We had snow today and mush and snow. Dogs played inside more than outside as it was just too mucky out there but some persisted.

Here is today's gallery.

Simon, the Pomeranian came in afraid. He had never been here. Today you will see in the gallery he is out with the crew without issue and inside with everyone. What a far way he has come since he arrived and its only been a couple of days. 2 nights ago he chose to sleep in a crate in Dennis room and last night he was in Dennis bed. His siblings also are quite comfie but he was the most nervous on arrival. It makes me feel good when they find their comfort level.

Today Skylar arrived (Rowan's pup) and she thought the pups were gremlins especially when they chased her. You will see her first exposure on video. Her second exposure to the pups she stopped running and just allowed sniffing. Didn't take video but already progress. Many dogs will do the flee - oh my gad they are after me when you have 8 little things chasing you. By the time she goes home perhaps she will be running with them. Conditioning works.

Magic dropped in for a bath and trim. Holly I give up on - well not really but she is Ms. Flirt with the boys. I brush her out in the morning and by the afternoon she looks a disheveled mess. At least I know she is knot free. Stone is the same. Ms. Dallas also departed. She is already missed.

The rest are doing really well. Everyone gets along with each other. They play. They eat, they snuggle - especially with us at bed and at tv time.

Snowy But Wet

The guys took a lot of photos but many didn't come out. Sorry. Here is today's gallery. I had a great photo of Dallas jumping over Tenshi but it was too blurry. Penny was laying on her back doing a shimmy like Risa does - blurry and that was only the ones I remember watching then trying to decipher on the camera. Nathan and Dennis was taking shots. Oh well...

It was a wet one. They came in with snowballs. I used the high velocity dryer more times than I want to think about. The dogs looked a mess. Water, snow and well it all ruins grooming.

Nathan had a pot roast that he shredded up and gave to the dogs in addition to their food. To say the dogs were thrilled is an understatement. It's not like it was their first treat as they  had turkey and roast beef this week but they loved it. Even dogs that were slow to eat gobbled it right up.

Dogs are all meshing very well. Other than a ton of grooming it was a great day!

Cool and Ice

Cinnamon - Brushed REALLY!

Inside Please

Poor Brewer's dad woke up to finding his furnace didn't work on a 3 year old unit so we have the Brewer here. I surely hope they managed to fix it. Good thing it didn't happen on December 25th or I said he could come for daycare. hahahaha Got to find your sense of humor when you have these blips.

Brewer wasn't crazy about staying out too long as it is cold again. It's also icy so they can't run like they usually can.

Check out today's gallery. Tenshi is at home but I included a few that I hadn't added in.

Audrey, who owns Gidget and her sister is off to a wedding for a few days so we have some non havanese hanging out. As you can see they have made themselves comfie. All are doing really well. Dennis is going to have them sleep with him tonight and I am going to have Gidget.

We had a good family time last night. Too much roast disappeared. I wanted more leftovers but I guess it was so good that everyone ate and ate. I am quite pleased with how well everything came out. You never know when you are multi-tasking and it was just me for the most part that set everything up and cooked and the daughter helped cook at the end. I was hoping I got away from cleanup but I did with the bulk of thing but come bedtime stuff was still out so Dennis and I finished up. <sigh>

Our freezer and our dryer is starting to go. It takes 3 cycles for the dryer to dry and the freezer won't seal. We hope it lasts till after pups depart. The freezer is over 25 years old so I should celebrate its existence. The dryer has been fixed so many times that the last time the repair guy said you really need to break down and buy new.

I am ever so thankful that this group of pups only have me doing 3 or 4 loads a day.

But I think I would not be so happy if our furnace went so I feel for Brewer's dad. Count your blessings they say!

Break Day

Today is a break day. We had family time. I washed Tenshi just now as she departs in the morning. We still have family here so the blogs will return to normal tomorrow.

Long story but this was the 1st night we could get together and that almost didn't happen.
