Busy Day

No swimming again today. That's okay. I was busy washing and grooming. Kat is getting excited about Roxie. It may be too early but tonight we will try after Nathan gets Jebi.

As you can see Spice's hair is finally coming back in after the pups chewed it to pieces. It still has a way to go but I can now put a little ponytail in it.

Thanks to the sun Truffie is turning his reddish brown. This was him before his bath and grooming today.

Tia was here for a bath and haircut. This is after she was finished. Tia just played and played.

Due to the weather not being that warm everyone just chilled outside till it was their turn to get groomed. Odin came for a bath and visit too. :-)

I do believe I am exhausted as I also had Phantom to do and some drop ins plus mine.

Tomorrow Paula comes and we take her crew to the vets. As she has a puppy coming in at the airport right when the appt is it seems its us taking them. Going to be a busy day tomorrow.

Was planning to wash Fiona tomorrow. Looks like it won't be till Friday now. No biggie. She's brushed out.

The Girls and Scruffy

Adele and Leti can't get enough of the Scruffster. They played like this all day long much to Pepper saying hey what about me? That's okay. She had Momma Spice that played and played with her.

I washed dogs off and on and groomed and it rained. Not much to report except maybe tomorrow we can swim?

Pippin Fun

Trying to get Pippin to pose was a comedy of errors. Most time she did the above.

Once in a blue moon she would try to pose.

We miss her already. Hope she is chilling with her humans.

Me, I have been grooming all day playing catch-up after I went to Grand Bend. It rained then got too hot and we didn't put on the pool thinking it was going to stay raining. We won't make that mistake tomorrow.

Paula comes in to get Phantom but she had plans to get something else and was in the neighborhood so one less boy to clean the undersides on when a gal is in heat. Cali will also be out of heat - hooray. No signs of Spice and Panda yet. Rather hoping they would so we can get it over with and relax in August till Jeannie gives us little surprises. Oh well... can't always get what you want.

Lake Huron Fun

We visited friends - Al and Shelley who have Abigail and Kat dogs - Summer Breeze and Chinook and they too are water dogs as you can see. We had lunch with them and then walked down two cottages to where the family was staying. So we had friends and family - wow - nice!

Roxie was loving the waves and had a total blast. Cali also came but didn't venture into the water. Both had a great time and us humans did too. Got to do a gallery for the family so I apologize for cutting this short. It was all worth almost 6 hours of driving. :-)

Here's a few photos of Roxie swimming in the waves on Facebook. It's public so anyone can see.

Deepest appreciation to Al and Shelley for everything!!

Road Trippin Time

Cali is at the end of her heat (1 more day) but boys no longer crazy. Roxie just started her heat. Go figure. It means Panda and Spice is not too far behind.

Today we have Benji who is getting a bath and enjoying Pippin, Leti and anyone else who will play.

Benji is such a happy, happy boy!

Roxie really likes the Pippin.

Leti also loves the younger set as they play as silly as she does!

Benji and Pippin are having a blast together and they also know the meaning of a treat. :-)

We are off to Grand Bend for the day tomorrow and won't be back till tomorrow night. The boys are holding down the fort. Phantom departs on the 10th and Kat will have a sense of relief.

Nathan is feeling under the weather so even I am not swimming. Hoping he feels better tomorrow.

I need to pack a car tonight myself in hopes he is better tomorrow.

Here are photos of Benji after his bath, paws rounded and trimmed areas he was trimmed to make him even. He cleans up nicely!

He is so adorable. He has the Abigail face just like his Momma does.

Long But Enjoyable Day

Sorry but with family over I didn't get much done. Our daughter, son-in-law, grand kids and my other daughter and grandkids was here. One of the daughters drove up from North Carolina. They were ever so tired and our groomer daughter Kendra also had an abscessed tooth putting her in serious pain. I will see them 1 more time on Sunday out in Grand Bend and then they will be departing from the cottage. Wish we too could have gone to the cottage but we have things going on here. Next year maybe. I only get to see them once a year.

Here's some of the family photos and Roxie is in some going and going and going. She managed to swim literally for hours and hours.

Nathan spent most of the time with the dogs with this grand kid or that or that daughter or that going in to sit with him as Dennis decided to weed and spend time with the family but didn't swim. He wanted to make sure I had time with the family despite me asking him several times to switch places. It was great he came out at the end and Dennis relieved him. We also had the dogs out off and on all day but brought them in when they got too crazy excited when the kids were jumping in the pool. Only Roxie stayed out the entire time swimming and swimming and swimming. I have NO IDEA where she got this energy. The rest came out off and on throughout. It was a great day for dogs and humans.

Thanks goes to Lynda for saying no grooming the dogs today. I will catch up Monday - promise - no need to touch.

Thanks goes to Shannon for understanding I was with family. I am sure Nathan was sufficient. WE love Levon and Trigger. They are great!

We also have Finn departing tomorrow. His stitches are clean. He is wearing a onsie that I had (new one). I got some dogs brushed but will play catch-up on the rest tomorrow.

The daughter was in love with Phantom, Adele, Finn, Pippin and shall I go on? When they arrived Levon and Trigger already departed. She's a real dog person and grooms for a living.

I am exhausted but it was a truly great day. Can't wait till Sunday and will be sorry when Sunday goes by too quick.

Tomorrow I try out my new brushes the groomer daughter brought me (2) as a present. Only a groomer understands what another groomer needs. :-) I am deeply touched!

Cheapest Games

It was just another drippy day in paradise. I actually had a sweater on when the sun wasn't out. It did rain. Our daughter from North Carolina, hubby and 2 grandkids are with us tomorrow swimming so we hope that bad weather is behind us. Can you believe how Wasabi was vegging at the pool?

The trio was watching.....

The plant pot falling off the railing.

It was windy so they were not quite sure how to handle this flying pot. But it became a cheap game of who was going to get close.

Some watched while others made attempts.

Some gave them ever curious glances.

Some tried to ignore.

Some watched.

Some decided to finally tackle this moving thing whipping around due to the wind.

It was rather funny. None were frightened. They were just wondering and watching and not sure they trusted which way it was going to go till the first tackled then the next did and Risa sat on it.

I think Risa has taken over Pippin as if she is her baby. It's a riot. Yes, Pippin plays with all but Risa coddles her.

Kat and Phantom had baths today. With Cali still in heat I have to wash them thoroughly every 5 days and wash underneath daily.

Finn made a trek to our vet for neutering and he is recovering nicely.

We had a great day and tomorrow is a fun day I hope! Not too often I see the daughter from North Carolina!

Ozzie's First Groom

Ozzie lives downtown so he visited Valerie for his first grooming. He also played with her tibetan terrier. Sounds like he had a blast. This is a Panda baby. Isn't he adorable?

Jeannie had a swim today before the rain hit.

Even Cali thinks this is rather funny. Show hair all gone but that's okay. She had a bath so we get all that extra grooming spray out and the shampoo. Val wanted to wash her with Why Bitch - yes that is the name of the shampoo. See https://www.b3salonproducts.com/shampoo.htm and she scratched and scratched and scratched so I washed her with my fave shampoo and conditioner and no scratching. Sometimes scratching is caused by foods, sometimes it is topical or even an ear infection.

Jeannie is a very strong swimmer.

Just for comic relief, doesn't it look like Truffie has swallowed Finn's head while he is playing with him?

Oh and Pippin is so relaxed and one of her best buds is Leti. She is such a fun dog! Oh well hoping for better weather tomorrow!

New Champion

It's not often you have 3 brags in a row. Just received this from Lucia. 2 Spice babies got their championship in a matter of days. I know Spice is proud and we are too. I am so very proud of Lucia as a new owner and handler. It helps to have a nice dog but she learned as she went and has done really well with him. She plans to continue showing as she has been bittened by the dog show bug.

Infectious Spirit

Ever notice how the Havanese love to run and have the breeze flow through their hair. Spice is a master runner. She is fast, fast, fast much like Wasabi who can catch a squirrel's tail consistently but she always lets it go. Spice doesn't catch squirrels but she does run with that same passion. I need to find me some of that!

Show Update

Two siblings got their championship this week - Epic and Montuno. Also, check out Jeannie's page for news about her and her photo. Montunos photo will be up when Lucia sends it.

We are excited as these 2 dogs are co-owned and our breeding. Without Paula, without Lucia we couldn't do this. With Jeannie, Nathan got most of her points and Val completed her championship while Nathan showed Adele who is sitting more than halfway to her championship with limited shows. We appreciate Val.

When you have a championship it is customary to congratulate the breeder, the owners and the handlers. The breeders as without them the dog would not exist. The owners as they are what cultivates what the breeders started. In some cases the owners are co-owned. Last but not least the handlers that help you even if it is from start to finish or a part of.

We hope we have not been remiss in giving proper credit. Each of you are truly appreciated. We are who we are due to the love of the dogs and those that we consider our friends and in most cases the dogs are what brought us together. Whether you are show people or a non-show owner we are blessed and richer for the relationships and experience. So, thank you!

Canada's Day

Cooper, Anne and Russell is wishing you a Happy Canada Day.

Casey's mom:

Wishing all my brothers, sisters, family and friends a happy and safe Canada Day!

Miss Casey

Forgot to include Casey's current photo. Got very tangled and had to get a lot of her coat cut off. She still gets lots of comments on how gorgeous she is. She weighs a little over 10 pounds. Loves to run and play and gets very mischievous. Loves to give kisses. Can you believe in 2 weeks she will be 1 year old!  Anne

Oh My So Very Hot

Montuno was just washed and he is off to the show. Nathan is also off and I am destined for the pool. There may be just a small addition to this post tonight but I am going to take dogs into the pool as it is so very hot and I can't take photos and take them in the pool by myself.

So no clicking - sorry.

Molly and Zoe just departed - they will be missed. Now that Pippin is knot free she will be my first to take in.

Till later...

PS: This cutie got his championship today and this weekend Paula's cutie from this litter got hers as well. Adele got her points bringing her closer to her championship.

Too Crazy Day

Sorry this is short but I had grooming to do, pool to jump in. Roxie was in trouble as she jumped in without Daddy while we were all out there. He told her no. She said talk to the paw. Oh my!

Dusty departed after another bath. Pippin is knot free and such a great gal for putting up with my grooming.

Finn finally recognized that there were gals around to play with that played like him vs. trying to get at Cali.

The daughter came up to chat and veg. I didn't get anything done that I planned other than grooming, trying a tele-extender and cuddling with dawgs. But there are days like that plus Adele had knots just looking at her as her heat concluded. That happens at times. I will have to go to a wash every 5 days till that passes.

Tomorrow Nathan is at the show, Zoe and Molly depart (oh boy have they been fun) and I have baths for the show and grooming. I may skip the pool. heh. They say rain anyways tomorrow. We shall see.

If I don't make sense, I am tired!

Dawg Daze With Friends

We had a wonderful time in and out of the pool. Gracie is here (not one of ours) but she has the energy - well I want her energy. She is so full of life. We were lucky to have Mac, Monty and Raylan plus Pippin - such a sweet little one Pippin is and the duo Zoe and Molly - so much fun and oh yeah Finn - what a blast and of course the humans! More humans and dawgs coming to swim tomorrow. Plus the daughter and grand daughter. Weather best cooperate.

Here are a few photos today and tomorrow I will put up a few videos that Steven did in slow motion - great fun!

Nathan tried for the 2nd day to try to get the duo to swim in sync. It is not happening. One goes on way, the other goes her own way.

Two Treasure pups - Dusty and Monty

Pippin - Think Steven wanted to steal her. :-)

It was a great day and thank you humans for sharing your little ones with us.

Hot Day

It's been a hot day. Here are some of the photos from today with one set comedy hour trying to get Zoe, Cali, Molly and Spice in one photo. We are talking Spice pups so that was INTERESTING.

Finn, Spice, Molly and Zoe all went swimming. Finn has no hair so he could live in there but he didn't want to. They all did well swimming but they wanted to laze and chill.

Fun was had by all... and it hasn't come to a conclusion yet! Tomorrow we get to see Monty, Mac and Raylan. Looking forward to seeing the humans they belong to as well. :-) Pippin and Gracie are going to drop in. Can I say pool time?

Sun Baked

Despite me saying I do not want to groom today Nathan tried to get every dog to come into the pool. Only Kat and Roxie ventured in.

We are sunbaked. We have Finn here shaved down - photos tomorrow.

Other than that we are now relaxing. I even got some weeding done out front, I bet my neighbors thank me. :-)

Hoping for another pool day tomorrow after grooming. :-)

It was nice to be able to regroup after my marathon sessions.

Oh Well

Dusty had a bath and then we found out she wasn't going for a couple of days as mom extended her trip.

Roxie and Truffie are playing a lot!

Yvonne's pups were here and if you want to see a few more photos do so here. They are really, really lovely pups. Nice structure, bites, great vet check. They all swam too. This blog is short as Yvonne just left and well we were wrapped up in pups. So much so that I missed a note on my ipad from Lynda... sigh.

Yvonne has a couple of pups that are ready to depart in a couple of weeks. These are our chocolate Truffie's pups and her Flora's pup. Flora is related to Spice and Wasabi. I really like these pups.

Fun Was Had

Been grooming all day so hardly any clicks. Plus its been raining so click click today is not happening despite all the Scruffy and Pepper kisses.

Dusty and Zoe got to play. They knew they were sisters as soon as they saw each other. It was a riot!

Today we got to spend time inside more than what we desired but sniff snigff its raining - do we really?

Jon was getting soppy kisses.

Leo and Brewster had a grand time.

Today torrential rains and more coming.

We had a puppy in the house - Lila

She is so attached to Zoe

The Leo

Lila and Brewer

Lila before bath

Lila After Bath

Lila and Spice

Zoe after bath

Dusty and Adele

Adele Lounging

Spice jumps over Lila

Adele out with the crew now

Just a few.... Sorry about rain drenched dogs and a lack of photos but it happens in the rain.

Tomorrow Yvonne comes with the pups so I get to see what the Truffsters kids look like with Flora. If it doesn't rain Yvonne and I will swim. We will set up an xpen on the deck for the crew to play. I am excited! Then they will go home but I promise I will click.

UPDATE: Shelby Kayak Times & Duo Grooming Ambience

This was her first time in the kayak. She did great. Next we get a doggie life jacket and head out for a long trek.

Barb

Scruffy and Pepper enjoyed an outdoor grooming session this morning

Scruffy really enjoyed it as he loved the breeze blowing through his hair.  I think Pepper enjoyed the change, too.  Although, you wouldn't know it from these photos.  I had a hard time getting them both to smile for the camera at the same time.

Lori

“Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.”

----

From me: I am grooming all day and won't be finished till 7pm. So tv and no blog - so forgive me but these 2 updates above are wonderful. Tomorrow I will add photos of Leo who is departing today after his bath. Dennis was taking photos so I may have Brewer (just bathed), Lila and Zoe who are next to be bathed and Dusty - Zoe's sister. Oh and I weeded and played with dogs. I know I am exhausted. No pool today :-( In case you wanted to know Leo was wonderful and I got lots of snuggles when I crawled into the lawn chair thinking a nap and then Nathan said what are you doing? I almost got away with it.
