Warm But Not Hot

The dogs that come are making the most of their time. Heres Parker running his body off.

Here is the gallery.

It tells me they often need more than a walk. They need the dog interaction. Just like we need the human interaction.

Laura dropped off the topiary of a havanese mom and 3 pups to us today. It's HUGE and so magnificent. She said happy mother's day. I wish I had something for her. So nice of her. She has full sized wolves in her backyard from this artist out of the UK.

Both Misty - just over a year and a half and Raven are in heat. We shall see who else comes into heat. This may be the no summer for me summer. LOL

I am so hoping we get good weather so I can swim. I live for the swim.

Other than the trug and fresh veggies and herbs, I think this may be a non gardening year despite that the garden centers and hardware stores will be open starting on Friday.

It's going to start getting exciting with the pups as 1 has their eyes open. Read the blog to see who that puppy belongs to. May the summer begin!

Crazy Fun

Here is the gallery.

Louis and Glory was over and what a blast they had. Zoe and Noah are here and so at home. They are claiming their spots and running with the crew. All is right in the world with the dogs. Glory is not a havanese, in case you noticed.

Murphy departs tomorrow. She just had a bath tonight. It's rather strange not being able to go out to craft shop or learn during covid times with Sherry but good to see her smiling face. Who has time these days anyways. I have yet to really look at the garden. So much to do, so little time.

Dogs are enjoying weather that is not hot but not cold. I should spend at least 10 minutes a day outside for my headspace but haven't been able to.

I was in a really sad mood yesterday and I suppose I am today as well. But the havs always pull you out. They make you laugh. What a gift they are!

Great Loss

With deep sadness, Lynda - loved by havanese Panda and Logan, her husband Gallan, son Jon and daughter Jaclyn passed away today. She was not given enough time. But she is no longer in pain from the evil cancer that descends on too many.

One of the last things she messaged me 2 days ago was can she see videos of the pups. I sent her the link. I tried contacting her after that as I was busy dematting 3 dogs - sigh. She never returned the message - how unlike her. This morning I asked her daughter and she says she is no longer able to communicate as she was heavily medicated to keep her from being in pain. Then I got a call from her son saying she passed away.

It's never easy losing someone you care deeply for. I for one will miss her. Panda and Logan will miss her greatly.

Covid is not easy for the families and friends who can't say goodbye in person. I will miss our dinners where she broke her vegan diet and had a shrimp or two. I will miss laughing, complaining and most everything.

I will be updating the puppy blogs today but not this one. I will play catch up tomorrow. Thanks for understanding.

Visits

Ellie and Tempie was playing up a storm. It was so nice to see her. She played all day and had a spruce up.

Here is the gallery.

Meadow was also here and you can see how she enjoyed herself. She is waiting for a sibling to be from this crew.

It was a very warm day out. Nathan got to sit out. I was too busy with grooming and pups to enjoy. I keep thinking when the pups are 3 weeks old plus.

Dogs loved it ouutside. We still have windows open. Tomorrow cold. How can that be?

Well, tomorrow is busy too. Now to catch up on mail and messages. LOL

Short Blog

As you can see its 630 and I finally have a half hour to blog before doing weighins of pups. It's been a day. Too much grooming but you won't see the results in this gallery. LOL

Meadow comes tomorrow. We are excited.

It was a pretty drab day out but warm. Good that mother nature didn't greet us with hot weather or I would have been miffed to miss it.

I promised a friend I would do a video of the pups. I still must but its tough today. Maybe I will send her to the video link. I feel like such a fallen friend but I am trying.

Hoping tomorrow is

Dreaming

We are dreaming about swimming here. It's a gloomy day. Dennis is still in bed and I have a dog to be groomed that is here for a play date so it is a no gallery day. I will play catch up.

Ollie - A Stormy PupOllie is here for a playdate and bath. He has such a sensational personality. He's a creamy and tan boy.

Dogs are always subdued with this weather. I think the humans are too.

Everyone we are talking about are really not in a good headspace with covid restrictions. I am so sorry for us all. Between pups and swimming, we will survive. Not seeing family and friends are tough. We know.

The dogs have no idea what the humans are going through and I am glad. They offer such a grand distraction!

This summer pups will be outside while I swim. They will get to swim - all 15 of them and well our adults will swim too.

It will all come together.... someway - somehow.

Rain Then Sun

Tempest and Halle are the best of pals. Halle is Cinnamon's - the brown one. She keeps getting darker. The spirit in both are wonderful.

Here is today's gallery.

The dogs play every day here. We just don't go out with an ipad or video camera so we don't always capture. I can say they have a delightful amount of fun. So much so that even when I comb them all out as I did this morning, they look like they have played hard come afternoon and that's okay.

When the dogs are happy, it brings us smiles and that's what it is really about.

Elvis has arrived in Victoria. He will be missed - humans and dog. I am glad all the sherpa conditioning we did worked out and that we had him in our lives before departure.

Almost time to weigh the puppies. Where does the day go?

Hoping pool time comes mid May when pups are older and I can relax with the dogs outside for a bit.

Pool Time

Is it pool time yet?

Here is the gallery.

I know not a chance but we can dream and dreaming is a 'good' thing. The weather is good. The dogs LOVE chilling outside - Nathan too.

Dogs were messy - not messy, combed, not combed and Dennis said today - what happened to Misty - she's all chewed up. I said that was from playing. Maybe I need to shave her down till she gets over this craziness of play. LOL

Warm But Falling Times

It was warm today. Cooler tomorrow. It's what spring is all about. The dogs finally got all combed out but I find when pups are young, I tend to be doing too much so the blog will be less than every day considering I have 3 others to do, Yes, I will still update but short ones.

Here is the gallery over the last few days.

I find myself not having the time to do matted dogs - sorry. It hurts my hands. By doing so, I am taking time from the pups and I simply never relaxed no matter how well the puppies are doing till 3 plus weeks as then Dennis is still doing night duty but he's sleeping in the same room and listening at that point. This means he is up earlier in the day.

I do comb out the crew here.

When I crawl into bed tired, no more ipad, I just drop to sleep when my head hits the pillow with the dogs all surrounding me. It's wonderful. Yes, they do the same with Nathan but they pick and choose and that's ok!

Off to finish laundry and weigh pups. I weigh them twice a day.

The Mess of It All

The girls love Stone and you can brush him out and there he is messy as all get out saying WHAT!

He has such a fabulous personality.

Here is the gallery.

Harlow departs tonight. We are on puppy watch and we still manage to get silly crazy with the dogs. MS. Tenshi is here for a play date. Yes, even the dogs go silly crazy with the restrictions.

It's a short blog today but we are enjoying and they are enjoying as you can see in the state of affair the Stone is in. Till tomorrow!

Glorious Weather

The dogs just love when it is not too hot but it is warm enough to relish hanging outdoors.

Here is the gallery.

We have Rocco and Rocky that dropped in. They played their hearts out.

I am not getting sleep as Cinnamon keeps waking me up at 4-5am as she hears the squirrels. I want to kill her - well not literally. Nathan doesn't hear a thing. maybe I should kill him? LOL He gets a daily nap - not I.

Short blog today. Till tomorrow!

Changes

Stormy's blog is being updated starting last night and the other 2 will start getting updated Xrays on.

Misty's hair has been chewed thanks to the pups and so when they said no dog shows this year and maybe next, I took the scissors to her. I didn't go short and the ear hair is still all chewed up but little by little it will get trimmed and will get back in shape if the pups stop chewing on her. If I was to shape her up completely, she would have had pixie ears. LOL

Here is the gallery.

No dog shows means the dogs can be dogs.

Tempest and Hallie received the rest of their course in video form. No more classes till? I hope soon. I remain hopeful. It is what gets me by - remaining hopeful.

Exciting times are coming with puppies.

The dogs have been playing and Cinnamon has been mothering Hallie. Yes, after all this time she still makes sure she is clean. I love our moms. They are truly special beings!

I am still learning as a past time. We are all set up for pups. I had forgotten the heat lamp. We still need 2 more in place buut one will suffice for now. 2 moms will get baths tomorrow and well maybe a couple of my own. Rocky will also get spruced up and play.

Till tomorrow. Now it is tv time!

Is This Saturday?

Ms Katie was here for the day. She played and had fun. What a cutie she is. I heard she was so happy to see Momma tonight.

Ever notice Cinnamon's collar? That's from Hallie. Cinnamon let's her do it. I trum and shape it and she does it again - like a soother. Yesterday I had actually shaped it up and it looked good and well Hallie was at it again. I give up. When she grows out of this irritating experience with her mom, then I will shape it again. LOL

Pictured above is Cinnamon, Ali and Hallie, they are both Cinnamon's pups. Ali is already all grown up and Hallie is not but she thinks she is.

Here is the gallery.

I groomed and groomed today and just finished. I am literally exhausted and the mid section of my back has a knot in it.

We are setting up the pens tonight. We will finish it off tomorrow. Dennis sterilizes it and then steam cleans it with this pro unit we have, It does a good job but we don't use it as much as we could. It's like a vacuum where you say, I can just sweep this up or I can drag that vacuum out. Which do you do? Both probably take equal amount of time but one works better.

We had some fun dogs visiting today. The pool is clear, It is too cold to swim. Starting tomorrow I will start taking Stormy's temperatures. She loves it so that she will probably hide from me. I will start updating their blogs and stop talking about them here, maybe tomorrow. Today, this is easier.

Dogs all had a treat tonight thanks to Nathan.

What a Day

Ms Roxie with attitude and Ms cutie Raven posing for the camera.

Here is today's gallery.

All 3 moms have milk in already. No concerns about that but it means Sunday we get this room ready. There is always that 3 day either way window though usually accurate from progesterone which all 3 moms had. Better to be prepared. Temps get taken and i will update their blogs when that begins - Sunday on.

Although the pool looks not as clear as usual, you can now see clearly to the bottom. We are now training the pups that no this is not a huge water dish.

It is Dennnis birthday so he decided to hibernate in bed. He knows soon he will be up all night. Life changes with pups. He does night duty and I for the most part do day duty. We have cameras on them at all times so I can watch too even at night.

Have you ever watched a havanese chill in the breeze. It is the finer things in life that they enjoy - the things we often take for granted. Their expression changes and they just enjoy the breeze. It is quite nice to watch.

Tomorrow is a big grooming day. Sunday is a big moving day - furniture out, whelping boxes in, cameras set up plus all the things we must have on hand for the big debut.

The non moms will miss being in this room. They are not allowed till they are walking. But soon we will have swimming and sun chillin and well life less isolating for humans as even if we are isolating - we will all have the pool. Something to look forward to, I say!
