Cold Day and Issues

Sunday's blog seems to have disappeared and I haven't a clue what I said. I put in a ticket to see if they can recover but know I really did one. They are working on it. LOL Maybe what I said wasn't important. Someone trying to tell me something?

Here is today's gallery.

It's a cold day.

We had Charlie and Dallas visit us for grooming and play. I also had a few others and got Ella done who already looks like a mess. I am playing catch-up with my own now that Cinnamon intense focus has passed.

Henley has arrived and immediately started playing her heart out. Everytime I think of her name I think of Don Henley.

Nathan had his usual nap. We are making the transition to reverse osmosis. It was installed days ago but you have to flush out the system a few times before usage. Not any different than distilled. It is cheaper than the bottle water we have been investing in with us and the dogs. But the cooler gave us cold water. If I can find glass bottles that someone will let us buy (Cedar Springs sells them only to customers) I would fill that and use our cooler. We are now using containers in the fridge. The cost of dog dishes alone is a hefty cost as we place out 10 dishes a day and change them out twice more a day. Yes, we are a bit nuts in making sure they have clean, cold water all day. We even have cooling bowls.

Looking forward to saving money.

Henley and Parker love the wee pups. The pups have perfected their skills so well that they can keep up with some of the older dogs. It is amazing. Mia thinks the little ones are gremlins descending on her. When you get older, you sometimes feel that way.

Look Who Came to Visit

Ellie was here for a bath, comb out and trim pads, nails and to make her hair round around her feet which she was great for. What a doll. Marlie was out of his mind happy to see her. Well, they all were but it was how he was like when he got here.

Here is the gallery.

The weather is wet, mucky and well time consuming. It has not been fun but teh dogs thought it was. They mostly played inside but they did get outdoor time. Sonny - I am told a golen but looks liek a lab to me was here and had a blast. I had to leep drying her off as she kept wanting to go out and get wet and that means we get wet too as we go out with them. LOL

Cinnamon had a setback today. But she seems better at the moment. Life is a rollercoaster. I want off the ride.

I groomed for the day and every one I groomed except Ellie decided the weather is too bad so they are coming tomorrow. LOL

I kept my pjs on all day that don't look like pjs. It is one of those days.

I am hoping tomorrow is a good day. Sherry and I are going out on Tuesday so I can get a mind break. It is my day off from grooming and Monday is extra busy. She says where do you want to go? I have yet to figure it out. LOL I think I need dogs and sleep!

Hope the rest of you are surviving the awful weather. Now to keep the groomed dogs looking like they had a bath!

Accuplex 4Heartworm (Antigen) NEGATIVE

Ehrlichia canis NEGATIVE

Anaplasma phagocytophilum NEGATIVE

We are now doing a fecal. Last night she spit up and spit up phlegm all over my bed. It is the first time she is able to get some phlegm up. The Choledyl had kept it in the lungs vs working like an expectorant. She had her best sleep since this happened. So much so that I kept checking on her to see if she was breathing. Crazy where the mind goes.

Nava departed today and it is the 1st time Cinnamon was wanting to play with the pups. But in the videos with Nava, you will hear her coughing and coughing. Believe me, this is a better cough and she can breathe without trying to catch her breath. Plus her desire to be with the pups engaged is a positive. She is such a great mom.

Two vets are not better than one. They each have their own bills and ideas. After a hunt to see if Cinnamon had heartworms and whatever, our local vet says I guess we are on the right track. She has pnuemonia. I am awaiting my usual vet's advice.

I am NOT doing well. Too much - indeed on overload but I will relax when she is well. The rest, I just have to get my own coping skills. LOL

Dogs are doing well. No matter what goes down, we always make sure they have the time of their life. Their happiness is mine - even the dog who peed on the dog bed. Well, that didn't make me happy but I laugh now that the bed is cleaned etc

Winston has departed and is heading to his new home. His humans moved so he stayed here while they dealt with boxes and downsizing and all that fun.

Harlow - still seeing if she goes tonight. Rocco departs tomorrow.

Bad weather is coming, they say. We shall see. A gallery added later...

Five Pups in House Plus Olders

Here is the gallery.

Marlie arrived last night, Coco arrived for a play day today. The moms were excited and they were excited to be here.

Vet came and did a checkup and their next vaccination. Coco had hers yesterday.

The adults really like the puppies and so do the older pups. It's an outstanding bunch. Parker came in and went oh pups fun. Every single dog thought they were delightful and oh my the rolling around that Tempie and Coco did was priceless.

Crosby had a bath and I have to comb him out again as he is playing up a storm. Just another fun day here!

Togetherness

Harlow always manages to have fun. She gets so excited to be here.

Here is the gallery.

It's getting yellow out there. I wish we would get more snow or melt.

The pups are now out with the older dogs all the time except nap times. They still need their naps.

Parker arrived and he loves the pups. The puppies brother Marlie arrives tonight for the week. Ellie comes Saturday for a grooming and play day.

Vet appointment tomorrow. Classes Thursday.

Today was my day off but I still had grooming. Who knew. Next week on my day off I go out. LOL

Tomorrow morning I wash Ozzie, trim feet etc. He departs at 930am tomorrow so right after breakfast he gets a bath. We will miss him. He had a total blast.

Three more days and Nava departs.

Crazy fun was had today. It is interesting as to who plays with the ppups and who says - really?

One Blog Only Today

Night and day we play, play, play.

Here is the gallery.

As I am grooming my head off, I need to reduce blogs to 1. But I will return to 2 when Nava departs so her bath and departing photos are in the right blog.

We are going to start taking the pups out to play with the adults and get them used to the lifestyle here. Nathan may take our 2 to bed and the other 2 will stay in the xpen at night as we can't spoil them to the bed before departure.

Already they are out with teh adults playing outside.

As you know the adults LOVE playing outdoors when the weather cooperates.

Shady and Nora's parents got home very late and they are now at home.

Ollie came for a play session with his bro. Charlie was here - Mia, Rocco etc. Winston's parents are moving so he is hanging out for a few days. The packing and moving was upsetting him and that is a usual so they come here, set everything up in their new place and then go to their new home with familiar surroundings. It all works.

Harlow has decided to take over Teddy's recliner. Well, Teddy is not here so its up for grabs. LOL

Well, back to grooming. Miss Mia needs a grooming session and will be departing tonight.

Back outside to run with Nathan - the rest go!

Sunday Almost Monday

Here is today's gallery.

Shady and Nora's mom is stuck in holidays. They will come for their duo tomorrow. Charlie will depart tomorrow. Two Cocos depart shortly. We had 4 Cocos here. Come Tuesday I am taking a day off from grooming. Everyone needs 1 day semi off a week. Monday is crazy busy so Tuesday it is.

Marlee and Sadie are here overnight. They took over their spots. LOL

It's been a low key day with play each time they head out or come onside. Naps are taken throughout the day - not together.

Sisters

Nothing like siblings. Yes, they remember each other. These are 2 Leti babies that happen to be sisters. The long coat is Spirit who resides here and the shorter coat is Coco who just departed today.

Here is the gallery.

We had a light dusting of snow today. Everyone played inside and out and now Nathan is taking a nap. :-)

Dogs departed - more tomorrow. It is getting quiet.

This week we had Ozzie, who is still here playing up a storm and Ozzie who are siblings as well. They knew each other immediately just as Spirit and Coco does. Leti also connects with them still.

I want a nap too - with dogs!

Fun But Tired

I just finished grooming. I have been at it since 8am. To say I am exhausted is an understatement. I thought of skipping blogs but I never have.

Here is the gallery.

Dogs have been having a great time thanks to Nathan and the son. I play but just with mini bursts.

Little by little dogs are departing.

Dogs have been eating well. Tonight they had steak. The dogs are indulged. Naps, great food, games and much more. Harlow arrived today and her usual, talk to the paw, dad and off she went to have fun. Then when dad comes, she is excited. That's the way it should be. Dogs that are nervous, humans depart and they open up and relax. It makes me feel so good when that happens.

We had schnauzers, a golden, a maltese and well plain fun this holiday season. The humans don't have time to celebrate but what we do for the dogs - makes it all worth it. Till March break... tee hee

The maltese departs tomorrow. To say she is at home here is an understatement. LOL

Short Blog

I started at 8am and just finished grooming dogs departing. I have the same for the next 3 days then I play catch up on my own. LOL

Here is the gallery.

Dogs had fun. Tenshi was back after the holidays. Benji departs tonight.

Nathan went to get food at Global. When we have visitors and pups we are going through the largest bag in less than a week. It's one of those hidden costs.

On his way back, a woman was chasing her dog that escaped their house and it was heading for the main road. the more she chased, the more he ran. Nathan came back to get treats and head out to help but he could no longer find them. Hopefully that means positive results. I am glad I have my front door blocked. It gives me peace of mind.

I am eating as I blog - first food of the day. I think a couch is calling me with dogs. In 5 more days, it is a quiet house. Two days later puppy class begins.

2020 Play and Fun

We manage to always have fun here.

Here's today's gallery.

Inside, outside it doesn't matter but it helps thgat we are not dealing with rain or mud. It's not cold - just at freezing so weather is good to play.

Tomorrow till the 6th, the goliday crew departs. Lots of grooming. But we will miss the wild play.

Last Day of the Year

We had a golden visit us for the day. Magic also dropped in for grooming. I made headway and groomed all.

Many photos taken before grooming. Charlie played with the pups!

Here is the gallery.

We had a dusting of snow enough to keep the mud at bay. Small miracles.

It is hard to believe in less than 7 hours it will be 2020 - double 20.

Here's to happy dogs, happy people and happy life! May next year bring moments to treasure. If you own a house and/or car may it be the year of no repair. lol

We may not make it to midnight - we rarely do - well Nathan doesn't. I try! The dogs try too!

On this New Year I wish that you have a superb January, a dazzling February, a Peaceful March, an anxiety free April, a sensational May, and Joy that keeps going from June to November, and then round off with an upbeat December.

Wishing your dogs 12 months of success, 52 weeks of laughter, 365 days of fun, 8760 hours of joy, 525600 minutes of good luck and 31536000 seconds of happiness. When they are happy, they bring smiles!

May you smile all year straight through 2020!

Next time blogging - it's a brand new year! We made it to another year and that is much to celebrate!

Departures and Dirtiness

When it all comes down to it, they clean up nicely. Here was Ollie waiting for his Mommy and human sister.

Here is today's gallery.

There is no end in sight to all the mud and wet.

But today the crew chased a red squirrel with the maltese in hot pursuit as well. Then a rabbit jumped the full width of the pool and they were off again. No camera but Dennis was way excited with the action and kicking himself for not having the camera. They all came in mighty muddy and wet. Much cleaning.

Was going to wash Murphy but think not. It is a fruitless undertaken with this weather. I looked at mine and said - why - just comb them out. They will wait till the weather sorts itself out.

Be sure to check out Leti's blog where you will see Zoey and Abby tugging on a video.

I am behind on uploading videos, I have not forgotten.

The dogs are really having a blast. Bedtime is a blanket of hair. It's a riot.

Classes start for Hallie and Tempest January 9th at 6pm. Hope some of you can join us.

Messy Day

Here is today's gallery.

We started out great. Then the freezing rain came and this is how we all look. LOL It is now so icy out there that its just not safe. So we are breaking ice and keeping them on deck. It is best to be safe.

So, we groom, we play and enjoy under gazebos and inside. I am so glad we got the gazebos. It gives them shelter even when we have bad weather.

Nora has found a kindred sister - Ella who they share a bed with each other. I must get a photo as it is so cute but I grabbed my camera and in that time the Maltese jumped on Ella. Nora said please and well I missed the shot. LOL

That is how my day goes - missed shots but laughter.

Tomorrow Ollie gets spruced up. Boy does he need it and he departs. Majik and Oreo also depart.

Ash and Grey come for New Years and so does Lina's Charlie.

Think I may dry some chicken in the dehydrater for a treat for all. We shall see. have to do something for ringing in a double 20-20 year!

Departing Tomorrow

Got Corey, Chiclet, Charlie and Socks departing tomorrow plus Logan and Panda. I washed and groomed Corey and Chiclet as they are departing early tomorrow. Charlie and Socks go later and will get a full grooming tomorrow. Panda and Theo was just here overnight and so is Logan and Panda. It's a busy but VERY fun house.

Here is the gallery.

Mud was pretty bad so much so that I need a nap and that's rare for me. I am literally exhausted.one can onlly do 15 hour a days without missing a beat and then you crash. That's me now.

I can't believe Ollie is departing Monday. Ozzie will miss his bro but he's a real player and will be more than fine. It was truly nice to have the brothers together.

Almost New Year's folks! Who will make it to midnight?

Muddy Times

What you can't see is the fir branches and the mud all up her tummy. She was not the only one. I just finished at 1006pm tonight.

Here is the cutie clean.

Get cold please as this mud and cleanup is exhausting. This one isn't due to go home till the 4th. I wonder how many more baths before then. LOL

Holiday Season is Still Here

Our handsome prince! Pablo sends cheer to the Talemaker Family and Friends far and wide.  He turned 11 months yesterday! Such a big boy!

Darlah, Nathan and Family, we are grateful for your passionate dedication to this wonderful special breed. They bring so much joy to the world!

-----

Keep them coming through the New Year!

I want to title this - can I dance too - or is it my turn - cuts, please!

Here is today's gallery.

As I type, the dogs are running to the window trying to chase squirrels. I know impossible but they surely like to try.

We had a number depart and a number will come tomorrow for the New Year. Then it quiets down the eve of the 5th.

The dogs had a reprieve from grooming today. We get back at it - well I will get back at it tomorrow after pups departs.

Ozzie and Ollie - the brothers are in the house and this is what they look like after wild play. Do they know each other. Yep!!

Short blog tonight. I will make up for it another day. LOL

Here is the gallery.

Not many photos outside as we are in a melt and it feels like a flood. It isn't though.

Happy Holidays

Finn's first Christmas experience with his humans!

Dear Nathan and Darlah!

Sending you best wishes for the Holiday Season from our family and from Lola.  All the best in the New Year!

Inga, Dave, Cassie, Sylvia and Lola

Hello Darlah and Nathan,

Thinking about you and all the Talemaker Havanese families.

Here is a photo of Kona's vist to see Santa this year.

I hope that you and your family enjoy the holidays.

So many families will be lucky enough to be bringing a new

puppy home. I so enjoyed seeing all of them develop through

your blogs and videos.

Kona and I will be heading to Florida on January 2nd if weather

permits. We hope to stay there until the middle of April.

Take care.

Hugs from Kathy & Kona.

Hi Darlah and Nathan

We wish you and the Talemaker family a wonderful 2020!  Emmy continues to bring us so much joy and laughter every day!  We love her to bits. She's attentive and so so sweet. She LOVES running in the snow, car rides, and learning new tricks. We took her to the Christmas Market and she met so many people who just wanted to say hi to her!

We received the Havanese calendars and they have been happily received by Ulrich's father and brother in Nuremberg, my parents in Vancouver, and my brother's family in San Diego.

Thank you!

Rosalie

Here is today's gallery.

I wanted to include this in the blog as Sue Edwards made it for us. It's a stunning piece. Sue is dealing with some serious health challenges. Wish she lived closer so we could help. My heart goes out to Sue and all those dealing with serious life blips.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I got to see Ronnie today - even if fleeting. Thank you for giving the pups their puppy fix and thank you for the presents. Looking forward to taking her to lunch soon.

Thank you also to Lynda for giving us a splurge of Chinese food. She is going through some serious health challenges herself. I am amazed at how she meets her challenges and still think of others. You are special.

I am so exhausted that we will have to do Chinese tomorrow. Today, I am barely staying awake.Dennis tells me he needs a shower so I am it with the pups again. LOL

Dorothy, the cookies - homemade - wow. Thank you. Where do you find the time. Plus Sherry confronting crazy Yorkdale to get me sweats I really wanted. Now she is kicking herself for not buying herself a pair or two. they are the softest.

For everyone in the Talemaker family - we wish you the very best for next year. May you create memories that make you laugh for years to come. I am so glad you have the desire and time to experience a havanese. It is what gets me by and you get me by too. Thank you!

Christmas Eve

Holiday Greetings from Ozzy!

We wish you the best Holidays ever! From our family to yours.

Ines, Carmen, Felix and Max.

Merry Christmas Darlah, Nathan and Family and Pippin’s friends at Talemaker.

Best Wishes for the New Year.

Karen, Ron and Pippin

Hi there,

So Finn slept from 10:30-7:30 am!!  He’s such a precious pup!  He’s doing amazing!  Getting a ton of love.

Our kids have completely raised to the challenge and are learning so much about him and training him already.  He will nip and jump but the minute we say no and walk away...he sits immediately because he just wants to be with us and please us.  He definitely loves being rewarded with treats which is great!!

He has a completely relaxed disposition.  He absolutely loves lying on his side and getting his belly rubbed....and there are no shortage of people in our house!

He hasn’t completely learned his name yet that’s probably because he has five people calling him “Finn, finzie, finnley, finnee!”  Hahaha!!  But he is super smart and will figure it out.

We are absolutely in love and thank you thank you !  We can’t say enough that you did all the work.  We think you already have your next customer....a friend has plans to get a puppy in the next year and she is already sold on a Havanese and Talemakers!!

Have a happy holiday season!!!

Marlon, Nicole, Sydney, Hudson, Davis and Finn!

Sent from my iPhone

From our house to yours - have a very happy holiday!

Abby is my sweet girl! Love her to pieces! ❤️ Hugs to mama Jeannie!

Holiday Greetings from our crew, Pixie and Leo.

They only get the 'hat torture' once a year, the rest of the time all LOVE!

Dorothy, Tom, Pixie and Leo

Hi Darlah and Nathan:

Just a quick email to wish you and your family the best over the holiday season.

It has been fun to watch the latest litters of puppies grow and develop under your kind and generous care.  Your compassionate and gentle influence on our dogs remains with them throughout their lives. I feel blessed to have the privilege of having a Talemakers' girl in my life - Moxie brings us smiles, joy and laughter every day.  We love her so.

I have attached her recent holiday pictures for you.  She has grown into such a wonderful girl - still working on agility and tricks classes with her.  In fact, we have her expert trick certificate (which will be recognized by the CKC beginning in January) and will be working on her championship level in the new year.  She is so smart - much smarter than me!

Keep well, and we look forward to seeing you soon.  All the best,

MaryLou and Moxie

More Later

Also, only if you are up to it, read Ella's blog.

We also want to recognize two dear friends that are dealing with cancer. One day at a time. It is a clear reminder that we must make each day precious. May they be able to put their concerns aside during this holiday season and find laughter.

We also want to recognize those that have lost family members. We understand this grief all too well. Each is unique. Finding ones coping skills can feel daunting but indulge, please. A good book, a movie - anything to find some enjoyment and don't feel guilty if you manage to find it.

We feel so for all those going through difficult times this holiday season. It is not easy for everyone.

We do dogs. We don't have time for celebrations (do miss it) other than making the dogs have the most fabulous time. A part of me is deeply sad that we are not surrounded by human family but they are all over the place from BC, Las Vegas, North Carolina, Portland etc.

Life is well life and creating memories with what you have is important.

Ash, Grey, Ollie and LexiDogs had great fun today. Ash and Grey, the schnauzers are here overnight. It is great exposure for the havanese. If a dog has not had any exposure - we fear what we do not know - they tend to worry about the bigger ones. We are lucky as we have the schnauzers and Jesse the collie who visits. Plus we have Inula. It's all positive.

Here is the gallery.
