Oh the Challenge and Dental Clinic

Here is Stone and Cooper playing up a storm. They are messy as ever as thewy ran through the dirt under our maple sprinting like it depended on their life kicking mud and dirt everywhere. I will have to wash the undersides once again.

Nathan bought this grate for my tub and why? Well if anyone has poopy bottoms you must clean or mud on their feet, this grate has them not standing in the dirt, poo etc. It is highly useful but I am buying a longer one that goes the length of my tub. Their hair is also dryer by not standing in water. I have always wanted one but knew I had to have a custom size due to the bathing beauty and when I saw this place, we jumped on it. We didn't realize how very useful it is especially this week. I like the product line they carry. They even have Madan brushes which no one seems to sell anymore. It's called Lynn Professional and they are in Calgary. 

I washed and cut Dash and Maki's mom saw the cut and said I want him like that. I cut him down today and tomorrow I will wash and finish. Still have no idea if I can have a pup depart as I do not have the pups assigned and the pertinent info. I also have 3 more dogs to do. Who needs time to relax? LOL

Abby refused to do our stairs and in the excitement of the others going up and down, she is. Dogs learn from the others at all ages. 

We have our pool slowly warming up and we will see how warm it can get and will I swim in less than 20c weather - well not usually but I may if the pool is warm enough. I need the mind break and the exercise.

Add the feet and back and undersides cleaning I have been doing then the pups and all that entails and on and on... I told Nathan time to explore food delivery and he can do dishes at night but that won't happen. It's going to be a very busy next couple of weeks and we have a dental clinic for the dogs on the 11th this month and still have openings. If interested, send mail to nathan@potechin.com

Yes They Run

They all run except the old dogs like 15 year old plus old but run or not, they have so much fun. Remy departed. He was so excited to see his humans. I love that they love it here and then the holiday is done and well there is no place like home. Here is a holiday.

We had sprinkles today so we were able to get the dogs outside more than we have been and I think Pippin saw it as a sporting event. Maybe it was a sprinting event. LOL He wasn't the only one.

hmm I wonder if Spicy eats later in the morning. She always eats but she wants to wait till everyone is done where Cooper eats like he hasn't eaten all night.

Dash came mid day and is here till mid day tomorrow after a groom. Bailey is here for the day and is so enjoying herself. We get a number of day visitors that come for play or groom. Today she just played and played.

Logan and Panda came for overnight as they are getting the house sold and will be moving. 

Meadow and Abby - well Meadow plays but Abby is a pistol - is all I will say. LOL

Chester has a crush on Tempie - a real crush. 

It's been a great day. I could go on and on but do not have the time. We are still neck deep in puppy selection and well I am doing what I can for the bags. Nathan just got the grooming spray, doo bags,  food and shampoo. I may be in decent shape now for all the items I do not have to design.

There are Days

Dennis took a lot of photos and I formatted the stick. ooops I didn't. It was on my camera. He usually uses Nathan's. Oh I am so glad. When I thought I had formatted the stick, Dennis looked at me and said you go out in the rain and do it again. So here is the gallery I didn't think I had. Persistence pays off. hmm these looks like yesterdays photos. I am so confused but it is registering as todays. It was raining yesterday and today and every other day it seems.

This puppy selection and being so tight on creating all the things that I do that I can't without knowing which puppy and what name is getting to me so when that occurs, you make mistakes. 

One hold out was enough and then 1 only this dog and many same dogs - well I left it to Nathan to figure out. I helped him with most. 

It is raining again. It has been off and on. Dogs are running the halls upstairs. Then the pups will do the same.

I am having a learning adjustment with my heatpress so having to ruin each substrate till I get it right so that means 16 substrates of each. Substrates are blank material be it a tag or a tote bag or a blanket etc. I have never been in this tight position. I have almost been there but not this bad. So, forgive me. People anxious about which pups are theirs - I get it. I also am there with you. I think I caught Nathan banging his head up against something.

Nathan is also talking to Ruth's mom night and day - 6 calls a day is a light day. So - lots of reasons for a messed up blog.

Mia departed today. So did Noah and Zoe. Chester arrived. Mr. Cooper absolutely adores Chai and now that we have Abby here - well he has choices. LOL

I did brush out everyone and I did have them looking magnificent till 10 minutes - maybe 5 minutes into play but that's okay. That says they are having fun and that's okay by me. When they have fun, I smile.

Very Wet Times

It is wet outside and not warm. Warm is coming they say Sunday so we start heating the pool Friday, I think. We shall see. Mother nature may have its own mind. 

Relationships are tight with the dogs. Alfie and Misty were snuggling today - be still my heart!  We do not have many changes this week and most went home. Tomorrow Noah and Zoe depart. Only my grooms and Chester arrive. It's quiet - less pitter patter.

I just finished grooming everyone and I am telling you they are MESSY already. I mean really messy. I have to laugh and laugh. This rain is challenging.

Despite this rain, the dogs are truly enjoying. We do so many activities with them that they get tuckered out and look forward to TV time.

Hail and Wet and Tv Time

What is this tv time all about? 

When it is rainy or after a hard day of play, Nathan turns on the tv in the tv room and settles in with the dogs - ours and the visitors. They find their own spot and sometimes change. We have a 3 cushioned recliner unit with tables, crates as tables and 2 recliners. We also have an additional crate that is HUGE. All crates always have their doors open and they climb in and out of them. The room is huge as it is actually is a diningroom (we never used) and the livingroom connected. We also have an additional couch at the windows looking outside which some enjoy. The gate is always opened when no one is coming to all the rooms but the tv room and kitchen is also always open so the dogs have a ton of room. 

Spicy tends to like my fave chair in the familyroom that I sometimes sit in. 

Chai is off to class tonight. I am supposed to go but not sure. I have so little down time and much to get ready for the pups departing. I am making headway but not enough.

The dogs have gone out between the rain fall. We time it that way. Some really do not like the rain and can you blame them? It's not even warm rain. 

Really Hard Rain Today

Nica came for a groom and Cooper just fell in love with her. He couldn't get enough of playing with her. They had a blast but now she is home. Mr. Coops will miss her.

We have had heavy and light rain off most of the day. Our pool water is actually quite high and its supposed to rain all week.

Dogs are preferring indoor play. I didn't even put the pool cleaner on as what does it matter. Hoping the weather changes as it's almost May. Time to warm up and get sunny.

The dogs have settled in with Nathan for TV snuggle time. Me, I still have videos to upload. LOL 

Rain and More Rain

The dogs are acting sick of this rain already and it is supposed to rain all tomorrow off and on. Mud was all over the place in the house on the floors. 

I still have a dog to groom so I am short blogging tonight. It is already 815 and I put aside 2 hours to groom a dog so maybe just after bedtime I will be done.

Dogs run with our son inside in the halls when it rains to get their exercise. Those that can't or don't want to watch and enjoy. The dogs look forward to it. 

Before the Rain

Pool is still getting cleaned. I have a eeeew moment to share with you. A mouse died in our pool cleaner and I didn't realize it till I went to empty it. I am awful around mice. I think I screamed. It was not alive. What fun for a morning.

I guess as it is spring the mice are out. 

Remy was checking out the pool cleaner. They all seem to as it moves all around the pool. 

Dogs were having fun. Dennis got in the run game before the rain arrived. Now Nathan is doing TV time, which they love.

We have dogs coming and going. We had the pretty Bailey here for a haircut and play. Logan and Panda departs tonight and Ollie has arrived for a few hours. Bonham is here and is having a total blast - be still my heart. Opus and Cooper are well two peas in a pod. One dog was afraid of the rain so we gathered him up as we were outside and distracted him. It worked!

Sun Bathing

It was not hot but wasn't raining. We still had to have light jackets on but the dawgs were thrilled about sunbathing. Can you blame them?

Pippin gets up on high and scatters the blankets in the TV room. It's a riot.

They just finished eating and well I am blogging. Nathan is enjoying the last of the sunshine. Dennis is taking a nap and the dawgs are loving outdoors.

Remy arrived from Wasabi's 1st litter. So he is a major senior and was playing. 

I was looking at Sky in the background on this photo and she is looking more and more like Tenshi.

Katie had her once a month bath today. She usually thinks a bath means she is going home. She's not and didn't act like she was. <sigh> I so wish Ruth could see her. It would do her such good but where she is at will not allow dogs. 

Cool Day

This is Ms. Spicy.

We had fun today. Nathan went to see Ruth - still they do not allow dogs. Feel bad that she can't see her Katie but she is enjoying here. Spicy is still sleeping on my feet. 

I am in the midst of combing out dogs. Some are done, some are not but all will be by days end. Here are 2 reflecting and pondering what to do next. heh

Pippin has arrived and Ollie has departed shorter than the usual.

Logan and Panda's family are extending their days as they are doing work in the house. They will depart in a couple of days unless workers extend their time.

I got a mini grate for my grooming tub (birthday present that had to be made) and why did I need it? It only covers a small section but if dogs have dirty bums, I can put their legs on it and clean them off without standing in dirty water. So far, I like it. I have always had grates but the height is too low. Doesn't sound like much of a birthday gift to many, I suppose but anything for the dogs and I so appreciate that!

Today I fixed 2 of my clippers myself by cleaning and changing the assembly. The parts cost under 10 dollars for each and they seem to be working. Usually I send them in for repair and 25 dollars later for each they are done. They oil, clean and change out the assembly. I watched a video online and did the same. If this works, I will do it this way each time. 

The house is actually quiet unless someone comes to the door or the phone rings. I had to call Bell today as I couldn't see my bill online and they called me back and I couldn't hear the woman at all. 

Insult to Injury

I go and load in my stick to my camera and went oh boy I must have formatted the older dogs photos and was about to cry. But I found the stick weddged into my keyboard so I wouldn't forget which was the next card to import into my computer so I could create galleries.

Here it is. Dennis had to have had a day too as he didn't take a single one of Spicy and she was playing and snuggling with Chai - argh. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. 

Spicy laid on my feet half the night and me being who I am didn't dare move and then about 5am, she crawled up next to me and snuggled in. Cooper found a bed he adored. 

We had a bunch of dogs depart - 1 waiting to go home any minute - 2 in an hour. The house just emptied out. I guess this is the end of spring break. 

It is Ronnie's birthday - Happy Birthday - so exciting. 

Dogs are absolutely enjoying but I have a tummy ache - haven't fit in eating yet and got a dog to do. Till tomorrow. It is usually not this busy but 16 pups for a vet check in our backyard and a late vet - well it does it!

Happy 7: 2 Day Post

Short Blogging

We have a lot going on and most of our visitors are departing today and tomorrow so grooming has to occur. Spicy and Cooper arrived and that is way exciting!

I groomed so much today and did so much laundry that I had piles to fold and flying hair everywhere. Dennis decided to do all the sheets. All the dog beds and all the puppy blankets. Oh boy... He gets in these modes and I have to say he makes more work for me.

As it's been raining, we need to clean all the floors. We have our local vet coming early tomorrow for the puppy checkups etc. As it is supposed to be rainy and cold, we will be doing it inside.

Nathan is off to class tonight with Chai. I was going to go but seems like I have a lot to do.

Dennis thanks Anne and Russell for a wonderful birthday present and yum bagels. 

Pablo's mom got us a bag of liver treats from Costco for the dogs and it seems Crumps is the manufacturer. How interesting. Thank you!

Tenshi's mom celebrated a birthday this week. Rusty and Luna's mom is celebrating on Wednesday. I hope great things for them both. 

Dennis commented without Pablo and Harlow dinner prep is quiet. I am so laughing. They like to eat! 

Shoutouts to those with cold, flu, covid etc. May it be a light version and a quick return to healthiness.

Now I have to finish the blogs and literally print out a photo of each pup so we van do this vet visit quickly. 

Cloudy Times

Due to rain we have had some pretty messy dogs. I am cleaning the feet and sometimes undersides but when it is not raining, they so appreciate the outdoors like us.

We are excited as we have Spicy and Cooper arriving. Scruffy and Pepper departs tonight - and Harlow too. Jasper departed earlier.

Mr. Alfie arrived just now - fun times indeed and so many changes.

Dogs look at rain and so forget about it! With rain breaks they go crazy outdoors - and we do too!

Miss Pepper wants to wish all her sisters and litter cousins a very happy second birthday! Our spicy gal loves to run on the grass, sleep with her belly up and keep our feet warm when watching tv on the couch and we feel so lucky to have her in our life. They Were Wrong

Here is the gallery.

All day long we were waiting for the impending rain. The sky is dark now so it may be coming. Pups and dogs had wonderful play sessions outdoors and all was so excited. 

Harlow kept looking over the edge of the pool and I kept saying - HARLOW. She would look and then go okay I won't give you a heart attack. Chai was doing the same. No wonder why Chai and Harlow get along. I think they have the same mindset.

We had Beau here - a Leti pup and we have not seen him since pre-covid. He came to play and have a groom and I will tell you my heart skipped a beat. It's hard when you don't see the dogs. He was so happy go lucky too bouncy and play bowing. It made my day.

We are supposed to get rain off and on all weekend. I am not impressed. I am silly. I don't want rain. I don't want extreme heat. Give me sun and 70s weather. What a spoiled brat I am but hey muddy paw prints and dogs feet to be cleaned are not fun. I wish I had a device that would wash their feet as they come in the door. Dreamland.

Dogs had a ton of fun today. Dennis is getting dinner ready for them as I finish this blog. They are all sitting in the kitchen staring at him as if he would finish quicker by them doing so. LOL

Quiet Day

Nicky and Riley look so much alike except Nicky is smaller. Nicky has departed today. Bailey and Daisy  departs today. Riley is here for a bit. Noah and Zoe arrived and was quite excited. Lola is in her element. Ollie arrived for an overnight. Coco and Amy are here for the day. So quiet but a full house with a number departing.

Pablo, Scruffy and Pepper can be found running to get their spot on the recliner in the tv room. If Pepper doesn't get it, she goes on high on the sofa. Pablo and Scruffy will just push up against each other and share. I have to get a photo of it. Both would prefer to have it to themselves but they do share.

It is cool. They came to do something else with the pool. We can't turn it on yet. LOL Well it's too cold anyways. Nathan had his coat on.

Ruth was transferred to a facility. We were supposed to go to it today but she is not up to it. It is a very hard journey she is on but Katie is doing well. 

Murphy and Robbie now have a new abode. How exciting but tiring to put all that stuff away.

It's Been a Day

It's been a day and it is only half over. We have non stop barking as we had new dogs arrive. Tonight the collie departs and the barking will stop. What occurs, so you understand is one dog barks, another chimes in and then you have nonstop barking that only has a few moments reprieve. It's 143pm and I need a gin and tonic - seriously need 1 or 3. This has been exceedingly difficult. We never experienced this with the late Jessie the collie except for the 1st hour. I am trying to figure out why this is so different but it is and the rain and storm didn't help. Some visitors do not care but if the rest is barking they will but they are not afraid. Many are. Robbie remains wonderful. This did happen the last time he was here but this stay has been extended. I am good at conditioning and training but one dog feeds another. 

Enough - just needed to vent and I am eating a big old fat brownie for comfort.

Pool people have not been back yet. We can't have the dogs out back when they are working so we take them out frequently for short play sessions. Hopefully they will come soon and get that over and we find nothing is broken. We are hopeful! That is why you open early.

Dogs are used to it not having a cover on it. They give it the respect it deserves and we are always - one of us out there with them in case someone jumps in or does something equally crazy as that water is COLD (50f). So far no issues. Before the season and when it is running cleaning the pool we do put it up to 65f so its not a shock if someone jumps in. Remember oceans or lakes at that temps before the season begins. I wouldn't go in at that temp but some do and would. 

Dogs are playing indoors and enjoying. Seems our temps inside is 68f which is fine with me. I need socks on - hairless ones. I just groomed and well I have a little bit of sock and mostly hair to contend with and Nathan is napping so I do not dare go upstairs to get socks. Till a half hour from now till I can.

What Happened?

The pool was opened today but they have to come back tomorrow to finish. Water is too low so we are adding water and its not so green this year - bravo. 

But we have to be careful with dogs that are not aware of the pool. We always go out with them but I don't want anyone falling in with these temps. I am sure the water is cold too. What does this all mean? Pool should be ready when warm weather returns. Last year we had a late opening and many repairs so we had a short pool season plus I didn't get much pool time. This year I hope to.

Nathan was stuck at the dentist as a crown fell off and now they are saying root canal and lots of work. But they need to talk to his cardiologist 1st so he just has to deal and take pain relief. Joy...

Tenshi and Amy departs today.

Tomorrow the Collie Robbie, havanese Murphy goes home and Brodie. The dogs have adapted to Robbie the collie finally but they have their moments when they go what is that. LOL It's not as bad as the first day - the reaction and it has been good for the havanese to adjust. Murphy and Robbie will go to a new abode and that will be fun for them. 

The dogs actually really enjoy this freezing weather. I know I do not. We have not put on our heat yet again but maybe we should or I need to pack on the blankets. Everyone has winter jackets on. I just went to the mailbox with a sweatshirt. If I had to stay out I would have opted for a coat again. 

Here's to swimming i n warmer weather and no dogs jumping in the pool.

Tomorrow we will also get to see Daisy who we haven't seen for quite sometime.
