Got To Love Them

They are so delicious now. They climb on the adults, play with them and have a roaring grand time. To me this is a delightful age. Here is today's gallery.

They run, they play, they jump and just know exactly how to maximize their time outside till they are exhausted and then inside for a long nap.

4 more days baths for 2. 5 more days home for 2 and bath for 1.

how did the time go by this fast?

Nine Weeks 3 Days Old

There are 2 particular dogs that LOVE LOVE the water bowls. That is Buddy and Rheo. I am just now adapting to their names.

The pups were out in the rain today. Yes, another day of rain. sigh

Here is today's gallery.

It's interesting as the dynamics is changing in a big way. Buddy is head to head these days in his play with Rheo. It's so interesting to see the changes from day to day and week to week.

This is a no eat the pad day. Day 2 - bravo little ones!

They are so enjoying playing outdoors.

I can't believe that in less than a week the first 2 go home - next Friday. Rheo will be the 1st and Milo the 2nd to depart. Saturday Buddy and then Sunday Tuesday and Tchibo. Come the 30th all pups will be in their new homes.

Too fast for me but a couple are coming back to visit so that makes us happy!

Be sure to see the videos.

Nine Weeks 2 Days Old

It was heating up out there but I only had a small stint with them this morning where I was able to take a video and photos. I was grooming.

But they have been outside several times already and will be heading out shortly again.

Here is today's gallery.

Pups had a leave the pad alone day. They are learning. Bravo, little ones. They are eating well, playing hard and sleeping deeply.

I just love this crew!!

Nine Weeks and a Day

We now have names:
Chocolate Pup = Rheo
White Chin = Tchibo
Brown and White = Tuesday
First Born = Buddy
White and Sable = Milo

It's been raining so we had upstairs play today. See the gallery.

They are still going after the pad but they are getting better. They still wait quietly for us to come get them in the morning. They are amazingly delightful. They are such a great bunch.

They are now eating food that is not softened and doing well. Mom really has no milk despite their attempts.

Hey Come Play With Me

We are finding it a challenge to get the dogs all in one group to go around the walkways and around the pool. They are too interested in exploring. I did take a video today of our attempt. Also Ozzie played with them on deck. You will see that in the video.

They continued being brats today but only once as they went after the pads. This too shall pass. It always happens around the 9 week mark. Not sure what 9 weeks has to do with it but then they stop when they realize we are not so pleased with it. It's a learning process.

Here is the gallery.

When out early today they were soaked down as this humidity level is oppressive. At this moment it is too hot for them to go outdoors so we will play upstairs. They will just lay under the couch if we did take them out to try to cool down so what is the point. We will take them out after the sun goes down as hopefully it will be cooler and we can condition them to outdoor dark.

They so enjoy their play.

Be sure to watch the video of them outdoors.

I am genuinely going to miss this crew. We await one more name and then we will announce each and who it is attached to. Hopefully that will happen by tomorrow.

1 Day Shy of 9 Weeks Old

This is a photo that Chloe's mom sent us. They came to get a puppy fix. They own Simba and Pepi. I couldn't go out as I didn't want to spread my germs. So, I am relying on their photos but Nathan said it was a fun visit.

We took each dog on a walk about by themselves. Everyone did the chase Nathan except partially Rheo (Choco boy) wanted to smell the roses so to speak but he soon got back into it.

They were magnificent in the grass that is way too long and they all did the paths wonderfully. Wish I could have got better photos but that Nathan guy was in the way, heh If I stood behind them they didn't know who to go to.

Here is the gallery.

The boys were being boys this morning and we were not happy with them. All of them surrounded the pad and was making it travel around the pen and then they thought oh fun let's eat it. We put in a more secure pad holder and sprayed it with a disinfectant that doesn't harm puppies but tastes terrible. They have not done it since. Are we feeling our oats?

8 Weeks 5 Days Old

I have to say that Raven has really won my heart in a huge way. The way she is with the pups is amazing. Stormy will play but at times she doesn't realize they are little and you need to compensate. Raven seems to have a gentle touch. We love them both, make no mistake but it was a bonus to have the Raven with this crew. I hope she is the same with Saffron's pups.

Here is today's gallery.

Blogs are short as I am still sick. What am I seeing this week? Choco attempts to win all the time and first born sometimes manages to win. Personalities are still developing and that is why it is so critical that they have this time with their siblings and Mom. This is the period of try, try try to see what I can do and what won't be tolerated. It is a learning process that is critical as they learn to appreciate boundaries. They have been learning this all along but this stage is magnified from now till they go home. I can't imagine sending a puppy home earlier as they would miss this stage that is so necessary, in my honest opinion.

They also use this period to perfect their skills. If you look back at say a 7 week video and the one today, you will notice the difference.

Check out the videos.

As soon as we have all names for the pups we will start calling them their names.

Light Update Today

Not many videos. Sorry... but did get one of them swimming. Didn't take a long one but its a funny day today. I feel like I am treading water but not going anywhere. This too shall pass so I apologize.

Here is a gallery of them swimming.

I think they did better swimming the first time or maybe I just was not up to par to take enough video but they had fun. It was funny to see their little legs running around. It does my heart good to see them wet and running around. They are such a handsome crew - each and every one of them.

They had visitors today but as I am so sick I do not want to pass this on so I am staying away from outdoors and people. I don't belueve in sharing in this way.

Pups are great. It's raining and Dennis will have them play upstairs. Dennis is coughing, Nathan seems to be getting sick. A house full of sickies but we shall be well by the time they go home.

Really, really going to miss this crew!

Roxie Boys 8+ Week Visit

I am rather sick so this will be short. The video is now up of the visit. You can find it here. I have no energy to edit it so you have the raw data. More fun that way, no? Been doing that anyways.

Here is the gallery.

We had gardeners loudly cutting things next door ruining our speaking at the visit and they stayed most of the day next door - argh. You will hear it on the video. Sorry, like I said raw data. Turn the volume down and you don't have to listen to it like we did.

My apologies for everyone that came and had to listen. It was actually good conditioning for the pups as it was loud. We also had the opportunity to say you don't coddle them when they have concerns as it validates their fear. You are best going on as if nothing crazy or loud is happening. They did recover from it relative;y quickly so they do have some good coping skills. Bravo little ones!

Visit went well despite the craziness. We also had Rosie show up during the visit.

I am running a roaring fever at this point so if I don't make sense, ignore me. Pups can go home from the 26th on. So soon... I know.

Outside Sometimes

The human here has the chills so this blog will be short.

Here is today's gallery.

They are really enjoying the outdoors. After their family visit tomorrow Dennis is going to start letting them run in the backyard for a different perspective.

Less than 2 weeks and they will be going to their forever homes.

They are quite delicious and fun!

If the weather cooperates we will get them back in the pool before departure.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Tomorrow - visitors!!
