Pup Play With Older Crew

This puppy is smart - the chocolate. She watches and goes in for the kill. Meaning she waits till they knock a treat out and she swoops in to get it.

This is today's gallery. You will see a lot of Ollie and ozzie in this gallery.

Both Oxxie and Ollie were here and had a wonderful time with the pups. Well, they are pups too but now the older crew.

Here are the weights

Fun New Toy

The puppies really like this toy. You put treats in it and they attempt to try to knock the treats out. They had a blast with it!

You will see some of it in the videos.

I love the way this crew takes on new things. I am going to have to try the singing rabbit. I haven't yet.

Tomorrow is the vets. Besides finishing one more dog and another one before we leave for the vets, I have crates to get ready and my bag that I pack in case of accidents. We never seem to need it but its best to have it.

The gallery is on the Ella blog. You will see wet photos of the crew!

I have to laugh. It's comic relief time. Tongues out, lap times and plain fun. We have it every single day. Going to really miss this 3 crew.

Each has changed since you were here the last visit. You will truly enjoy!

Oh Getting Stunning

Okay, we are already - stunning that is but look at Saffron's boy. He snuggles in deep. He lays on his back cradled in my arms while I scratch his belly. He sits there and waits for you to pick him up. He made my day today.

I truly can't believe vets this week, Saturday visit - wow.

We did have someone back out from getting a pup today due to a family issue. So, we are back at needing one more family. We have NEVER ever been in this position so this is new. Just when we told everyone all puppies have families. Go figure.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Characters

We have a bunch of characters as you will notice in the videos and in the gallery.  This is certainly one of them. You can find the gallery on Cinnamon's blog.

I combed out all the adults dogs and started in on the pups. I am trying to get them used to grooming. It is important, I believe.

Saffron is no longer feeding the pups. The pups had veal added to their food to test their ability to digest it properly. All had firm stools. We will start giving treats here and there to see how they do.

There is a method to our madness. LOL

Be sure to check out the videos.

Cuddles and Play

The number 1 cuddler is the black gal who will have lighter colours bleeding through. Oh my gad did she give me love today. What a gal!

Here is the gallery.

I love puppy snuggles!

Tuckered Out

How do you know it is time to tuck them in to sleep? When they start laying down like this. It's a sign... I need a snooze. They look so adorable too when they are catching zzzzs.

Be sure to check out the videos.

With each play session they actually perfect their skills. If you pay attention, the change week from week is great. It's wonderful to see the growth!

Play Time the Best!

The puppies are getting heavier from this crew. That means they will get taller shortly. It will be interesting to see their weights at the vets on the 26th. I can no longer weigh them in the food scale as they simply jump out.

They are such a fun crew. I can't wait till we can try them outside.

I love picking one at a time up and snuggling with them. Some are too busy and have places to go and things to do but I always get my snuggle in.

Here is the gallery.

The Next Day

Oh I so love the personality on this one. This morning she was leaping above the rest - even the larger ones to say hello. I laughed. Pick me to pick up - will you? It wasn't in a needy way but rather I find your snuggles fun sort of a way.

This is a no gallery day.

6 Week Visit With Families

I can't believe that the 3 crew lasted so long in play.

Here is the gallery.

Interesting enough the chocolate was shaking and I couldn't figure out why. People thought she was shy but with everyone before this point she was highly playful and anything but shy. I thought hmm is she going into a fear stage? They all do at one point. Then on a video, I noticed she wriggled out of someone's hands. It was an unintentional oops and it took her a bit to recover but she did. This is how they build their coping skills.

This happened to a pup on an outside visit one year and in that case they were standing up so we introduced a must sit on the floor when possible rule.

I deleted the video as I don't want to embarrass anyone by showing an ooops. Pups are wiggly and they can squirt out of my hands too. It HAS happened to me especially when pups are so wanting to go, go, go! So, no worries. But now I understand the shaking.

She's running like a banshee now upstairs. She was not harmed. It just frightened her, I imagine.

Pups were wonderful - well I believe so. I know what they are at this stage. I applaud their milestones. I laugh at their run so fast they sometimes run sideways. That will change before next visit but its a funny stage.

Can't wait till you see them again but not looking forward to so many baths. LOL

Bath Time Before Visit

Boy

Girl

Girl

Girl

Kept trying to understand what attracts me to this black and white. We all are here. She's cute. She has personality and she has the Wasabi and Spicy look. It is an interesting attraction. She looks very feminine. She has spirit.

Here is the bath gallery.

How did this crew do. All of it was okay - what are you throwing at me next. They made me laugh.

But no one liked being wet in a crate. I guess I need to do one at a time. Oh boy. I would still be washing but maybe its good conditioning as well. Time will tell.

The black who is actually a tri and is having colour bleed through was a riot in the water. I wish it was summer as I would take her in the pool and have fun. She was silly with the water patting it with her paws.

Out of the 11, I am honestly not sure who I am most attracted to. That is unusual. I rather love the 3 crew!

Be sure to watch the videos.

1 Day Shy of 6 Weeks

It was really nice to have a visit with Christine. Bonus she wore the pups out so I could continue grooming.

I can't wait till we can take the puppies outside

Till then, we are busy taking them to play in different areas of the house to get them exposed to new surroundings.

They are really doing well!

Check out the videos.

The gallery is found on the Cinnamon blog.

5 Weeks 5 Days Old

When you are exhausted, you sleep wherever. What an adorable cutie this pup is. She sleeps anywhere. It's a sign of play and deep sleep.

Here is the gallery of the 3 crew.

They play, they sleep. Fun is the operative word!

Be sure to check out the videos.

5 Weeks 4 Days Old

The Saffron pups will be just over 6 weeks when their families come to visit. Saffron's crew is the youngest but they have met the challenge of being with the older ones. they had to practice being as agile and up to the development stage of the older ones. I believe they have really did well with this challenge.

We have short blogs today but watch the videos, I am starting to upload soon.

The Younger Crew

Well, there is an Ella puppy in this crew. Can you pick it out?

The puppies, as I am typing, are all sleeping together in a pack. This is interesting as that is not how they started when we merged the 3 crew. They slept separate. Sure there was one from the start that slept with whomever was closest but all and all they slept gathered in the safety of their siblings that first day.

That has all changed. They have created relationships. They feel comfort in each other and they have learned trust and respect. Everything we do is for a reason. It all unfolds.

Just before we were about to merge them upstairs, we thought this will not work at this stage. Cinnamon's had size on their side and didn't understand soft play, not laying on top so the little one won't feel crushed. Then the next day it was as if a light switch went off in all and we decided yes, they are ready to go upstairs all together. A 24 hour window can change everything. For each litter, it is unique.

We have also learned that 10 days apart is the maximum window to merge.

There is a bonus when you have 2 or 3 litters together. Yes, moms can help out like they did with Saffron's pups when she had her c-section. But beyond that, they learn early on how to interact with non siblings. They learn to create relationships. To me, you can't get better than that!

Be sure to check out the videos.

Visitor

Well, sorry folks but as we had 1 puppy still available, we had a puppy potential visit today. We usually do not bring out the pups before our 1st family visit. But Karen got to play with them and they had their first visit in the kitchen.

You will see Karen at the visit on Saturday.

Here is the gallery.

How did they do? I think they were wonderful. I am truly impressed. Plus you will see Stone playing with them in the gallery. He just loves the pups.

You are going to LOVE this crew. As one of the moms to be has to fly in, you won't see her till the next visit but I will be taking lots of videos so she can enjoy too. Got a iphone or ipad? Maybe we can facetime her in. Wouldn't that be fun?

Be sure to watch the videos. You will see their first kitchen visit. It's 9pm now. I have dishes to wash and clean up to begin. LOL
