Immaculate Conception: Temps Added

Well, she has 2 folks due get this ANY DAY now. This is what happens when you have no connection. The buggers can't swim far but 2 made it. I was hoping not. But it is what it is.

What we are worried about is a possible c-section as pups are large and she has never had a connection so delivery will be tough. I am rather anxiety ridden with this one but nothing we can do now. Yes, one could be hidden but for now we will say 2. I am sure they will be beautiful pups - just because.

Roxie is sitting at 99.6 at 5pm and 99.8 at 10pm. Bedtime - no pups tonight. Dennsi is still cleaning and setting up. Oh boy.

mary and jesus must be their nicknames!! good thing you brought her in or you would have had a real surprise!

February 11, 2014 | Unregistered Commenteralene

I'm sure Roxie will be fine and she will have 2 very special puppies! She has to. She's always been special to me along w/ her Mommy Miss Abs. :-)

Since this is a surprise do you know who Daddy is?

Thanks - me too! Am worried but we are experienced.

oops answered this Debi on Panda's blog. hahaha I must still be shell shocked. Lynda was visiting and I think I was a space cadet.

Alene: Yeah - now watch we will have a girl and a boy. I still don't think I would name them Jesus and Mary though. :-)

We are setting up the room now. Going to just setup Roxie and Panda and then will do Spice later.

Wow! You will definitely have your hands full. Why will she need a c-section? Not sure how no connection means c-section. Does she look pregnant?

February 11, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterSylvia

That's OK Darlah! I've done that too! Read your other post first anyway. :-) I can relate to your excitement.

My last dog, Tia was one of two in her litter and it was a 1st litter as well. It's not all that uncommon I don't think for 1st pregnancies.

The best of luck, dear Roxie! You are going to be a Mom. I hope the delivery will be uneventful, Darlah and Nathan!

Debi: Female lines usually determine the amount in a litter. For instance Abigail always had 4 or 5 so I expected 4 or 5 from Panda and Roxie. Wasabi always had a ton of pups - so did her mom so I expect Spice to have the same. But timing, sperm count all can play a part. Outside ties can too. I worried about 1 for Roxie as I figured she would be so in love with a single that I would have an issue. I remember Risa's daughter who is at a friends having a singleton. That puppy was so cleaned that she took the hair off of her cleaning her so much.

Thanks, Angela!!

Sylvia: No connection means less sperm to create pups. 1 or 2 pups grow large as they have lots of room. Large pups equal a c-section at times. Without her having a connection she is like a virgin giving birth.

Oh my baby Roxie is going to be a new mum! Could they arrive before Friday? If a c/s is necessary, will this require a vet stay for Roxie and her pups? Will be on pins and needles for the rest of the week.

If she had a c-section we would bring her home right after. We know how to deal with ivs etc. It's amazing what you learn as you go.

Wow, so much is happening..... I hope all goes well and thanks for keeping us updated...
