Xrays Coming

The vet felt Misty and went hmm is she even pregnant. Misty has a longer body so she carries different than Raven. She has had pups kicking for a week so I knew she was. Xrays are coming but we indeed see 5 but we shall see and count with the xrays. One we thought maybe 6. The xrays will come sometime today. Five is a great number for a first time mom. Lots of pups but not overwhelming.

I think she will whelp 2nd. Her mucous plug is still intact. Pups are kicking wildly though lots of room so sometimes hard to feel. You will see in the xray. When the pups are tight, you feel the movement more as less room to move.

Getting Ready Too

Misty likes this coveted spot too. Something about the blanket, the sun filtering in to it from the window and being close to where I sit. The blanket being extra soft and I mean extra soft is a bonus! We liek really soft blankets here - human and canine.

I still have cords running every which way and I need to sort that out. I am exploring cord concealing possibilities. If you have something in mind, send the link my way. I also need something else I can put in front of the opening to the other pen as it is hard for momd to jump in and out without something. It's the little silly stuff. Otherwise I am mostly done.

Tomorrow we find out how many. Is that exciting or what? How many do you think?

About Misty

This was Misty as a puppy. Just because she is black and white, don't forget she can have any colour as Truffie is a chocolate and she has a variety of colour in her line. As this is her first, it will be a surprise from the start.

Each night now she thinks she must spoon with me. LOL She wants to be closer than possible.

She's been walking around with a squeakie toy lately making it squeak. She is getting ready!

Misty Times

Misty is finding creative ways to sleep without putting any pressure on her tummy. It's a riot. I may bathe her tomorrow or Saturday for her vet visit. I haven't decided. I may bathe her just before due date which makes more sense.

She has suddenly started growing more obviously and pups are kicking. No more morning sickness and is hungry as ever. We won't know till late morning Monday how many pups. We will - well i will post as soon as we know.

Misty's Belly Shot

She is due from the 12th on so soon. Misty is a gentle but playful dog. She was cut short due to her play and I wanted to even her up after some of teh dogs she plays with chewed her to bits all in the name of fun. She can't help but infuse a part of her day - even pregnant with fun. We could all learn a thing or two from embracing life like this. She is also a massive hugger. I suspect her pups will be fun and Raven's will be laid back as they have been in the past. There are always exceptions. This is Misty's 1st litter and Raven's last. I expect a variety of colours in this litter. We shall see...soon.

XRAY Dates

Xrays on March 8th. Truffie is the dad. Had planned on using a dog from the states on Misty for her first time but with covid impossible. Truffie makes gorgeous pups. I am happy with the choice.  I mean look at Rebel. :-) I was supposed to do a trade - stud for stud just to see what new possibilities I could bring in. Always exciting but scary too as you never know what you introduce into the line. Really looking forward to both breedings. Misty is an internal play monkey. It is why I cut her hair down - 1st time for that and may go shorter as I suspect she will have the pups playing all through her hair.

Got to start decorating her whelping box with her photo.
