1 Day Short of 4 Weeks: Gallery Updated

Here is the gallery.

I will attempt to update the galleries as I am able to but depending on the hard drive, I may only be able to do the videos. It all depends when the hard drive arrives. I will do an update before we install the drive in both Nami and Hallie's gallery. 

Nathan is away soon for a week - joy for his guy trip so we go from this to that. 

Today, we will take more pups outside and this crew really needs their nails cut, The Hallie's pups not yet.

Pups are getting mighty active and I do want to try them on food tomorrow but depending on what else I have on my plate, I may wait. They are still gaining so there is no concern. When they feed solid food, their bodies react and initially the output is great till their system gets used to it. With the washer, I may have to delay a day or two. What to fix 1st - lol.

Pups have already started to slim down but not lose as they are burning more calories. This is normal. They are growing.

Both sets of pups are truly wonderful. I make sure I interact with them as much as I can. Nathan waits till they are 4 plus weeks old. I think he misses so much that way and I get to know them better but he enjoys the fun stage vs the changes that I find that are so fascinating that is more subtle. Although I do the majority of the work, I get to bond in every stage. 

Then we will have Yoshi. Oh boy and Yoshi is a magical loving dog. It is going to be chaos but fun!

Back Up Partially

It has been a very long day but we managed to take one of the Nami pups outdoors. You can see it in the videos and gallery now. I would have played catch-up but it is nicer to get it up on the same day.

Pups are getting fat. They are getting more active by the day. It all happens when it happens. The majority of their abilities happen after 4 weeks. Each day they perfect their skills and get better and better. They do get excited to see me.

In the next day or 2, we will do nau=ils on this crew.

We did take 1st born outside. I have photos but will post when the drive is fixed. I do have a video. So you do have something to look at today.

3 Weeks 4 Days

I am so behind and overwhelmed so this will be short. I am having a terrible time getting laundry done. Sorry...

No success in the pad but they are socializing with each other.

They are really perfecting their walking skills. It is fun to watch them!

3 Weeks 3 Days

The pups survived the new environment over night.

Nami has now decided in order for everyone fitting in, she would stand and let them feed that way. 

It is a riot but it works. 

Pups are playing more but no success with the pad training but that is typical. Someone has to mark it and then they get the idea of where to go. This is just the start.

New Digs

So, after I finished my 1 million points goal with exercising, I set up the xpen. I took the whelping box out, washing everything that was in it and sterilized the entire pen. Had to wait for the benefect to dry and placed a pad, a crate and blankets in it. It was a lot of work but I am glad it is done.

The pups adjusted quite quickly though I am not sure Hallie did. Nami did. LOL I swear Hallie was looking at me as if to say, well what about mine? She also rubbed herself all over Nami's crate and blankets and Nami just watched. 

The pups have already woken up and I placed them on the pads but no success. That is typical and normal and is an ongoing process that we be They learn from repetition and smell. 

Long day but it is 5pm and I am doing a blog. Much better than 7 or 8pm. LOL

3 Weeks 1 Day Old

I know, late again but this will calm down. I had a heavy schedule of grooming today plus we do have our own and boarders yo play, cuddle with and comb out too.

The pups are getting lively walking pretty decently and playing. It is delightful to see. They will get better and better and with 6 days, they will be rather steady o

They are getting large enough that one or 2 has to push their way in to get to a milk station. I do help whenever I see. If I am not in here, I always have the cameras to watch. Before cameras, it was highly stressfilled.

They are good pups though and it is fun to interact with them now.

3 Weeks Old

This is a Hallie boy and a Nami boy side by side. I also took some group shots but can you tell which are Namis and which are Hallies? I have to admit, it is a bit diificult to do this when too busy but I tried. We will try again on another day but I am way too busy this week.

Pups are walking visibly now. I am trying to catch them on video. In one week time, they will attempt to eat solid food. It changes everything as bowels change and cleanup escalates. We will add a pad but it is constant laundry and cleanup till they get used to the pads. This takes time. It is an ongoing training till they go home. It is also the stage that I call a lot of work and it is me during the day and Dennis at night. Dennis is actually napping as he is so exhausted. I am overly exhausted myself. 

So, if I am late on videos and galleries and blogs, please do understand. I had several people say why didn't you update? Well, I am now but I have laundry, changing bedding, water dishes, photos, videos, blogs and that isn't counting my time for exercise, the other older dogs. We have game time, grooming and well lots of water dishes get changed many times a day and of course feeding time. The point is, please please understand I may be late sometimes. I am not sure there is another breeder that does this daily but I want you to get to know them before your visit too. So, updates during these busy times may be late. They will come.

Almost 3 Weeks

These pups are playing well. It is their age and their eyes being open. They do a lot of mouthing each other. 

They are doing really well with their interaction. They are enjoying each others company. I tried to catch some on video so you can see what I am seeing. 

I really can't believe they are going to be 3 weeks. In one more week we will start them on water and soft food. They will get messy and we will take it slow to watch how they digest the food. So, this is always done in stages at about 4 weeks old.

Here is a photo of the boy double masked of Nami and choco gal of Hallie side by side. I thought that may be fun to see.

This crew is edging up on 3 weeks. How did that happen and Hallie's are 6.5 days younger. That is a lot, at this stage.

Now that everyone has their eyes open, you will start to see interaction between the siblings increase by the day. We will soon come into the more lively stage.

When they are out of their whelping box, they will be able to see each other. Interesting times coming.

2 Weeks 4 Days Old

I can't believe that 2 and a half weeks these pups made their debut. They are now rolling over, practicing walking, at times. They are close in a pileup or distributed. No one has tried to climb out so it is not time to come out of their whelping box. That day will come, It always does.

These two litters will be able to play outside on the deck. You can't do that with winter pups and they will experience snow for the 1st time in their new homes unless we have a freak storm.

They can't eat solid food till 3.5 to 4 weeks old. Their digestion system continues to solidify. It will be fun to see them eating.

2 Weeks 3 Days Interesting Feasting

We have a creative feaster. If there is no room as we get fat, I will go over the top and feed that way. I so laughed and he was latched on solidly.

Pups do interact now but not for a long time. As they get olde, that time will increase. At this stage they are growing and sleep is their friend. They need more calories that they can fill their tummies with to give them the energy to play. They eat, they sleep, they grow and they do interact but that interaction with increase as they gain size. It is a normal process.

Nami is known to wake them up so she can clean and feed them. Hallie lets them sleep till they start moving around. Each mom, like humans have their own style. Both are right. Both get you there and both moms love their pups. They beam when they show them off.

Last to Open Eyes: 2 Weeks 2 Days Old

This is an interesting puppy. I believe she will be Hallie's colour even though she is a Nami puppy. She may have been the last to open her eues but she rubbed her face on my hand and snuggled in. This is not the usual. She just LOVED my caress. It's not that the others didn't, she was just animated about it as if she was ready to see who was petting her when her eyes were closed.

Pups are starting to get animated with each other. They will play and perfect their skills as the days goo on and you will notice in the videos, when you watch them.

I got in a combout on the moms 1st thing this morning. We had a crazy busy house this morning. I still have to get exercise in. 

I will continue to add photos to the galleries and videos. 

The pups are looking wonderful. Can't wait till they are running down the halls.

What is next step? When they attempt to try to climb out of the whelping box, the box will go.

This is 2nd born boy who opened his eyes today at 15 days old.

This is 3rd born - a gal who opened her eyes yesterday at age 14 days.

This is double mask boy who opened his eyes yesterday at 14 days old

So now you know who the holdout today. It is the very dark brown brindle gal. Will it be today or tomorrow. She appears to be in no hurry. She barely has slits.

2nd With Eyes Open

Without Nathan I have to take photos on my phone, message them to Nathan and download them to post. Taking by myself is difficult but I don't want you to miss the moment. This means we now have 2 with eyes open. Let's see we have mustache and double mask. I am hopeful the rest open by tomorrow. They are waiting for Nathan. LOL Dennis is just too busy to help as we had a flood in our basement from a washer hose escaping literally. 

With the show ending tonight and Nathan not doing tear down as it seems he leaned back in a chair, fell down a hill and hurt his back, we may get the rest when the rest of the pups eyes open - that is if he is capable. What a fluke accident. It can't be too bad as he is still there. But it must have been scary.

When everyone has eyes open, I will take new photos, mark date and post them. I feel like I am letting you down but trying not to. You will still see individual photos with eyes open. I try to get them on video too. I have to get better at this. Maybe I am facing these challenges so I learn.
