Trimming Feet, Comb Outs and Sunshine

I managed to get everyone combed out today and trim Cooper and Spicy's feet but did I take a video - nah - too busy but I will do someone else's later as so many have asked how you do it.

Here is today's gallery.

Weather was great. We have a pond on the pool cover and the pups - well they can't help themselves. The adults loved sun bathing.

But do they look combed? Not everyone hahahaha. I so love a dog that rolls and messes themselves up. Don't you?

Looks like we have a mouse in the trug - argh

Ah...feet are looking good! Love the pic of the dogs just laying on the pool cover, soaking up the sunshine ☀️

Looking at the pictures of Cooper makes me curious. He is obviously a tall boy when I see him beside others. Is he within the standard for the breed? Tall, light and handsome!

Cooper is a Teaser and Mugs pup, a bigger line, bigger than the norm for sure but Teaser had big pups, i.e. Scruffy is one. Darlah can comment on the breed standard.

Cooper was going to be a show dog but he grew too big at 6 months so we got lucky and got him. We refer to him as our “big boy”. Spicy is our little girl ❤️ Love them both to pieces.

Thanks, Anne. I have a tall boy too, but I think Coop is even taller! It just means we got more dog to love, right?

Yes Sue, the more the better!

Cooper is over the breed standard. The standard reads: Height/Weight
A Toy breed, the Havanese ranges from 8.5-11.5 in (22-29 cm) in height and is a featherweight at 7-13 lb (3-6 kg).

But truly it does not matter - too big, too small for the standard. It only matters if you are showing.

Spicy was a show dog - a specialty winner etc. It doesn't make her better. Just different journeys - is all.
