Cool But Fun Times

Elvis really likes the girls and can you blame him?

Most times you can always catch him with a gal. He is due for a bath as he doesn't go home till the 22nd and if I don't wash it will make his hair hard to maintain so he may be getting a bath tonight. He will get another when he goes home.

In the gallery you will see dirty feet on Inula despite her having a bath today. Nathan maintains her coat and well 2 minutes after she got outside her feet were black. You can't win. 

It is threatening to snow but we had a morning of drizzle. That is why the black feet. Got to love it. 

Tchibo has managed to really much it up. He is a fun spirited boy. He is wonderfully likable.

Penny likes to make the couch her own. I laugh. She loves her comfort! Marlee and Sadie has settled in just fine as they always do. Pixie and Leo are playing and playing now. It's wonderful to watch. 

Teddy and Shlomo have departed. Miss them already!

Nathan is taking a nap with the dogs - well whomever wanted to join him. Soon Nathan will be cooking up ground beef. the dogs will be sniffing the air and he will be adding it into their food. They do so love dinner. After playing so hard they have quite the appetite!

Marlee and Sadie (Thyme) arrived. Here you can see Sadie under Kai saying who are you?  Oh you are my sister from another litter. LOL I called Sadie Thyme by accident and she still responds to both names. What a smartie pants.

Tomorrow Teddy and Shlomo departs. Soon it will be March break. I want May and the pool. hahahaha

But the dogs are having a blast. 

Movie was good last night. We ate at Me-Va-Me. Huge portions - good. Sure beats the VIP movie food. It was good to get out!

Short Blog Today

Teddy goes home Wednesday. His Mom and Dad have a beautiful grandchild. He's been with us for a bit and he treats this home as his. Anyone that comes regularly has their sleeping spot, their place on the couch. It's a riot to watch. Elvis thinks they all belong to him. I just laugh when he gives someone that look - hey that is my spot so he settles in mighty close and breaths. They move and he gleefully gets the spot he wanted. What a creative way of doing it. 

Penny is in the photo above. Her mom and dad are moving to Calgary and we are loving her up extra, extra as we will have to put up with just seeing photos. They get to sell their house after March break - staging and fixing and all that fun stuff. I believe Christine can relate.

The daughter is taking me to Montreal Saturday to Monday. Not much time. I am hoping Nathan does the blogs but we shall see. I may be calling in and filling you in remotely. So in reality we have half a day Saturday and a full day Sunday and I suppose Monday morning eating. So no grooming this weekend. Please understand that Nathan is not up to the task. LOL My poor guy will need sleep when I get home and I see we have a time change in there. 

Tonight Nathan and I are heading to see Black Panther. That's the last of our tickets and they expired next week so figured we best go to see something. :-) No drop in tonight. It will be nice to veg together. 

I groomed everyone out, washed and trimmed 5. 

Oh and tomorrow Marlee and Sadie. I am excited!!

Shall We Dance?

The air is crisp. The dogs think it is a delightful day. No rain. No snow just coolness.

I had an easier day - just a few dogs today and I plan to relax tonight.

The daughter's mattress came last night and Nathan was amazing as he got the boys to take the old ones out and he made the bed so all we had to do is crawl into it last night. It is an improvement. One day a tempur mattress. I do believe the dogs enjoyed it. It surely beats a 25 year old mattress. 

Pippin is about to go home and I find him grooming challenged. I get him perfect and he rolled and makes sure he looks natural. It will be a miracle if he looks okay but we will so try. 

Penny is arriving shortly. I treasure my time with her as they are moving far away and well I am trying to make a lasting experience. LOL

The dogs really have some tight relationships here. It is nice to see. They play, they snooze, they play. Yes, it is important that they get their naps in and when that ground beef is cooking they get mighty alert. 

Oscars tonight! The dogs and I will be watching. I am not sure that Nathan will. 

Tired Day

I started at 8am and finished grooming at 745. No breaks. No eating. It's been a long day. The gallery is small as it usually is when I am unable to atke photos too.

I am told the dogs had a ton of fun. I am truly hungry and barely able to think so I am signing off. Sorry...

Today is too long and oh I wish I could crawl into bed. Two more hours and counting!

In, Out and About

Cold Again Surprise

Such a fun day. I did get everyone brushed out early but some decided to wag their tongue at me with a nah nah and wreck their hair.

Charlie, Leti's baby came for a bath and a spruce up. Oh my is he adorable. Leti was thrilled. Stone was thrilled and so was Spirit. What a blast they had. 

Tonight we have class with Willow. Snow they say is coming just as I suspected but probably won't start till we are in class.

Dogs are enjoying in and out today. It's cool, cloudy but still enjoyable to them. maybe that mud 2 of the dogs got onto despite blocking the area will go away now. You should have seen their legs.  they had so much fun.... Dennis comes running in look so and so needs to be cleaned. Thanks, Dennis. 

Tomorrow Chester goes home and he has had a total blast. He is such a play monkey. 

Really Warm Springish Day

Well the day was another wonderful one and then they say snow is coming. I have to laugh. As Dennis has had snow on his birthday (April 17th) and I certainly have snow more often than not on my birthday (March 24th) I believe we are still in for white and wet times.

So a spring tease? I imagine it is. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's not over yet though I sorely wish it was. I want to be in our pool with the dogs getting a sun tan, LOL. Besides I have pups to get acquainted with the pool. It will be fun in say 2 months from now. Can I make it till then? I am trying.

Teddy has arrived today. Rocky was here for play and a bath/trim. Cody heads home today. 

The dogs are having a GREAT amount of fun. I imagine they too think spring is here. I hate to burst their bubble too but it is fun while it lasts. Have to grasp every good moment you can. 

I have been slacking. I have been grooming but now I have to do the rest. 

I have a 25 year old mattress. I ache each time I sleep in it (nightly) so when the daughter said she was buying a new mattress (hers is 2 years old) I said I would GLADLY take her throw out mattress. I don't care if its the lowest end mattress, it has to be better than a 25 year old one that each time you rotate it the spots are getting few where you have a semblance of normalcy if a mattress can be normal. hahahaha

So, I am excited as the daughter is going to try to get it into her van and deliver it. I suspect the dogs will also be excited too. I will fill you in as I imagine they will roll and ahh in it - or at least I think they will. Stay tuned.

Another Warm Fun Day

Sometimes it takes me all day to comb everyone out as I do it here and there and today was it as we were simply having way too much fun. I call it a badge of fun. the messier they are the more fun they are having.

They ran, they played. It was like a spring day and I doubt this will last but such a nice tease especially without rain. 

Tomorrow Rocky comes for a spa day and Cody departs. It's the last day of February. Can you believe?

Frisky and Running

Nathan says the dogs are rather frisky today. I said no duh. It's sunny and warmish. Trouble was leading the pack in the runs. When Brewer is here he usually does that. It was great fun to watch.

There is still a bit of ice out back but its the best day weather wise. No rain. No mud and sun - yes sun!

Puppy drop in tonight is early. I like that as I can get back and do things vs taking the dogs out and rolling into bed. 

Dogs are in and out today all day. They are loving it. It's as if they are saying - mother nature - FINALLY! Let's hope this lasts!

Posers and Fun

Trigger always poses for the camera. I have to laugh. Levon gets so close to me each time I get the camera out you can't click him unless he is outside. Inside, he's saying what is that thing - hey - it's me.

Cody arrived tonight. Murphy, Tiny departed. Levon and Trigger depart tomorrow. Kai and Willow go to Puppy drop in tomorrow night.

Nathan is sitting in the familyroom as I type watching the Voice Battles. It means I am surrounded by dogs too as I update the blog. It's nice. This room is larger than the tv room and when we don't have pups, it's great to enjoy the room. 

We had a really full day and I didn't comb out any of the dogs but a few. It's a break day. Tomorrow - catch-up. I did have baths and haircuts so it wasn't like I was a total slouch.

Cold But Better

Sun is shining. The ice is still out there but they have traction now. It's cold enough to keep the mud at bay.

Tucker is going home after a fun play date and a bath and I am trying to keep him clean. He was such a great boy on the table. 

I got everyone brushed out. 

I am dealing with everyone calling or iming me as this is my late mother's birthday. So, it's a day. No need to respond. I just state it in case I seem to be off on my post. 

The puppies are adding to everyone's lives. The dogs, even those that usually do not play are finding the pups endearing. Chester was the big treat winner today. It's funny how it changes. I rather enjoy that. If it was always the same dog the game would not be as fun, I imagine.

Murphy and Tiny go home tomorrow. Tiny thinks he is Romeo. hahahaha I will let you imagination go wild. That's it. I wanted to end it on a fun note. Stay warm!

Darn Weather

Here is today's gallery. Trouble says ENOUGH! This weather thing is not cooperating. Plus for some reason the crew we have here now think squirrel hunting is grand fun. Trouble and Trigger almost cornered one but smart squirrel figured up the wall was an escape. Not sure what the fascination is at the moment. 

The dogs come in soaked. Chester went out and all you could see is skinny wet legs. Tenshi I have had to hose down twice as she likes to run around our tree that seems to have mud under it so we just put an xpen out around the tree to stop that as there are only so many legs one can do. hahahahaha

We are taking them out but we are also doing a lot of fun games in the house. Can we get to pool time yet? I know, I am dreaming.

The puppies are a blast. It's good for the adults as these 3 are fun and tend to engage even the most irritated ones. It's nice!

Two Updates Today

This is what happens. I brushed Truffie and in less than 2 minutes he looks like this. 

I am brushing and combing throughout the day so some in the gallery are groomed. Some not yet. But rest assured I got all completed.

Spirit went to the vets. See the update on Leti's blog. Tonight Willow goes to her first Family Dog class. Friday night we attend a puppy seminar with Gillian. It's a 2 hour seminar without dogs. 

The weather has become cold again. I want to take a nap. Class is at 7pm vs 6. I like the 6 slot as I have downtime after we get back vs preparing for bed. 

Dogs are still not running in back but they are in the house. 

Off to play the find the treat game to see who wins when.

Calling Out For Help

A couple of years back many of you generously donated to help the havanese. I created baskets from all items you donated. I made them into baskets and then we raffled them off online and at the National and Regional Specialty. Well, I am asking for your help again, please. Many of you that donated also bought raffle tickets and won. They were sensational baskets and we need to do it again.

It must be new or look like new. It doesn't matter if it is small or large. Anything from grooming items, beds, crates, toys, carriers, food, treats, gates - anything possible for dogs or not for dogs. Anything that people will buy raffle tickets for so we can make money for the Havanese. Last time in one of the baskets we had a collection gift certificates from amazon to keg to cineplex. We had a sleepypod, toys, food, treats. It can be non dog items that people have interest in. Perhaps that Xmas gift that you don't really need?

Last time I did this it was highly successful and I want to be able to do the same. 

I must have all items no later than the start of May as I have to build the baskets and of course we want to give those that are unable to come to the show the opportunity to buy tickets. We can pick items up or you can drop them off here. 

I hate asking but when its for the havs - it's a good cause.

Still Wet

Yes, we still have ice. It is muddy, wet and we have sitting water in the back. Taking photos is interesting so again we do not have many. Dryers are working overtime.

Tomorrow night Willow starts Family Dog. 

We are looking forward to the puppy drop ins. Each time, if we can, we will go as they are truly fun. I wish they had it for older dogs as well. 

The weather is crazy. The dogs are napping more. I find that always happens when it is so mucky. 

We played find the treat and we always makes sure everyone eventually wins. As I type everyone is cuddled in to Nathan and Dennis while I finish the blog. Then it is MY turn. 

Wet and Drying Out

I tell you, we have a lake out there. It is warm and it is so wet.

Not much as there are only so many ways to catch a sopping dog and off and on the dryers have been running - more on than off.

Tomorrow Ozzie departs. Pixie and Leo arrives and our son Jon is off to Whistler for 10 whole days. Stormy has been sleeping with him so she will miss him for sure!

I do believe it finally clicked that Spirit was staying, though she did look for her pups this morning. But it is starting to sink in. They hang out in my office for bits of time - just the 2 of them to help Leti make the leap. 

Spirit gets her shots on Thursday. I will update the Leti blog with the weight. Willow went to the vets today and now weighs 6lb 6 oz. She has gained 2lb in 1 month. Willow starts family dog class on Thursday. Hope we have some small dogs in class too.

Mighty Wet Out There

Everyone got soaked today so I had to play catchup when I got back and the we had class with Willow and Kai. They had fun!

But I had a ton of cleanup.

I think I like snow better - not wet snow - that fine powder snow. Is that too much to ask? Last night in bed they all had to sniff Spirit as if to say you are joining us? She has made the adjustment quite well and the others have made an adjustment to her. 

Dennis didn't have xpens to clean and he got to watch tv. The joys of silly things you don't have time for when you have litters. Things other people take for granted and well our focus are the dogs and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Wet and Melting and Play

Stone just LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the puppies. What a special boy he is.

It's mighty wet out there. We have had a lot of playing indoors and slushing it outdoors.

Thank you goes out to Sherry for picking up an item for me for grooming that died unexpectedly. I was unable to get out of the house today and seems like the stores are closed tomorrow. Well, most places are. Pacific Mall must be busy, busy with Chinese New Year. Would be fun so if you are looking for something to do...

Dolly and Trouble arrived. They are literally having a sensational time. Though I have corned beef cooking and Dolly keeps sniffing the air around the stove. Got to laugh!

Leti and Spirit are doing well. Spirit is running out with mom and the dogs. Nathan said oh my gad I love these puppies - they so love me. That they do, dear!!

The Great Melt

Our driveway is clear. The backyard is melting and boy is it sopping wet.
