Calling Out For Help

A couple of years back many of you generously donated to help the havanese. I created baskets from all items you donated. I made them into baskets and then we raffled them off online and at the National and Regional Specialty. Well, I am asking for your help again, please. Many of you that donated also bought raffle tickets and won. They were sensational baskets and we need to do it again.

It must be new or look like new. It doesn't matter if it is small or large. Anything from grooming items, beds, crates, toys, carriers, food, treats, gates - anything possible for dogs or not for dogs. Anything that people will buy raffle tickets for so we can make money for the Havanese. Last time in one of the baskets we had a collection gift certificates from amazon to keg to cineplex. We had a sleepypod, toys, food, treats. It can be non dog items that people have interest in. Perhaps that Xmas gift that you don't really need?

Last time I did this it was highly successful and I want to be able to do the same. 

I must have all items no later than the start of May as I have to build the baskets and of course we want to give those that are unable to come to the show the opportunity to buy tickets. We can pick items up or you can drop them off here. 

I hate asking but when its for the havs - it's a good cause.

Still Wet

Yes, we still have ice. It is muddy, wet and we have sitting water in the back. Taking photos is interesting so again we do not have many. Dryers are working overtime.

It looks like Spirit and Leti have now made the leap completely now. 

Tomorrow night Willow starts Family Dog. 

We are looking forward to the puppy drop ins. Each time, if we can, we will go as they are truly fun. I wish they had it for older dogs as well. 

The weather is crazy. The dogs are napping more. I find that always happens when it is so mucky. 

We played find the treat and we always makes sure everyone eventually wins. As I type everyone is cuddled in to Nathan and Dennis while I finish the blog. Then it is MY turn. 

Wet and Drying Out

I tell you, we have a lake out there. It is warm and it is so wet.

Not much as there are only so many ways to catch a sopping dog and off and on the dryers have been running - more on than off.

Tomorrow Ozzie departs. Pixie and Leo arrives and our son Jon is off to Whistler for 10 whole days. Stormy has been sleeping with him so she will miss him for sure!

I do believe it finally clicked that Spirit was staying, though she did look for her pups this morning. But it is starting to sink in. They hang out in my office for bits of time - just the 2 of them to help Leti make the leap. 

Spirit gets her shots on Thursday. I will update the Leti blog with the weight. Willow went to the vets today and now weighs 6lb 6 oz. She has gained 2lb in 1 month. Willow starts family dog class on Thursday. Hope we have some small dogs in class too.

Mighty Wet Out There

Everyone got soaked today so I had to play catchup when I got back and the we had class with Willow and Kai. They had fun!

But I had a ton of cleanup.

I think I like snow better - not wet snow - that fine powder snow. Is that too much to ask? Last night in bed they all had to sniff Spirit as if to say you are joining us? She has made the adjustment quite well and the others have made an adjustment to her. 

Dennis didn't have xpens to clean and he got to watch tv. The joys of silly things you don't have time for when you have litters. Things other people take for granted and well our focus are the dogs and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Wet and Melting and Play

Stone just LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the puppies. What a special boy he is.

It's mighty wet out there. We have had a lot of playing indoors and slushing it outdoors.

Many departed today Shady, Nora, Logan, Panda, Ty and Winston. Tomorrow Scout and Coco departs and I will be at the Home Show with Sherry. Then tomorrow at 430 we depart for a puppy drop in at Whos Walking Who with Willow and Kai. 

Thank you goes out to Sherry for picking up an item for me for grooming that died unexpectedly. I was unable to get out of the house today and seems like the stores are closed tomorrow. Well, most places are. Pacific Mall must be busy, busy with Chinese New Year. Would be fun so if you are looking for something to do...

Dolly and Trouble arrived. They are literally having a sensational time. Though I have corned beef cooking and Dolly keeps sniffing the air around the stove. Got to laugh!

Leti and Spirit are doing well. Spirit is running out with mom and the dogs. Nathan said oh my gad I love these puppies - they so love me. That they do, dear!!

The Great Melt

Our driveway is clear. The backyard is melting and boy is it sopping wet.

3 Updates Tonight

It is wet. It is messy. We only managed to get a few photos. These are busy times. I am brushing out dogs after all the wet. We have pups departing and well it is busy.

By Sunday it will be quieter and on Monday I head out with Sherry. So..... now I am back to combing out. Yep.... and drying dogs.

Happy Chinese New Year!!: 3 Updates Tonight

Hi Darlah and Nathan,
Just want to let you know that Tenshi behaves fantastically throughout the flight to Montreal. She was a bit restless during the take off then she settles down in mid air. I wonder if she was feeling the pressure changes on take off. We came out of the plane and I let her out and gave her some treats and she ate it all ( usually when she's stressed she wouldn't take her favourite treats), so it tells me she's alright. We got home and she was eating her supper with no problem.

So today, we play dress-up for the Chinese New Year! Thank you Darlah for making her pretty and smelling good. My mom is totally in love with her. But then who wouldn't?

Happy birthday Katie. She is now 4 years old. Cant believe it! Where has the time gone? Happy birthday to her brother  Odin as well.

Sopping Wet

We have the great meltdown quite literally. Out back is water sitting on top of ice and it's simply way too dangerous. We had to put salt down in the front. The dogs are just going out on the deck. I do not want them running in the back. I do not want them to sprain themselves by slipping etc or worse. It's that bad. So we are playing games in the house and having a blast but I am participating in the games. It takes more than 1 of us to play indoor games.

Magic and Tenshi want to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!! This is the year of the dog! This is also  Tenshi's first flight. We wish you both a wonderful New Year celebration!

Tchibo is a wonderful dog. He loves to play and nothing seems to bother him. He was the quiet one in the litter. He's not quiet now. He is a complete play monkey!

Tenshi is off to celebrate Chinese New Year. She is on her first plane ride. I hope it goes well. She had her bath this morning as you will see in the gallery. Magic is also here but won't have a bath till 2pm - any minute now as her mom is coming to get her at 4. She is also celebrating the New Year. Logan and Panda will be here this weekend as their parents are celebrating. We wish everyone a wonderful celebration!

We are heading to class tonight for Kai's last class. Then Coco, Leti's pup departs after we arrive home. That means I have to have everything in place.Dexter departs tomorrow. Saturday the last 2 depart. 

So busy times this week.

Monday, I am not grooming nor combing out etc. I am heading to the Home Show with Sherry and taking a day off. Even if it is an emergency, I can't do - sorry.

We literally have water pouring off the house from the melting. I am not sure the dogs like the wet that much but outdoors they went a few times already.

Poor Brewer, the Leti pups chased him. He was none too pleased. He looked at me as if to say let me go back in and we placed him back inside with Dennis. We were trying dogs to see who could tolerate the crazy chasing Leti pups. 

As this is Valentine's Day, I want to make the blog short but I wanted to give you some photos seeing I was slacking yesterday.

Slacker

Leti with Hair. (LOL)Dennis nor I took any photos. I do so apologize. We had many dogs to groom - well I did and then a puppy going home and we spent the day truly participating in play with the dogs vs. clicking. I do so hope you understand. Tomorrow we return to galleries.

Everyone is well and having an immense amount of time including us. it's so important to do that every now and then.

We also had to have our furnace checked at 8am (all is well) and we forgot to put the heat back on. So about 2pm we were freezing and then Lily's parents came. Oh my...

Short Blog

Sorry - short blog. Everyone is having fun - no gallery - sorry. We will play catch up tomorrow.

We have a puppy departing tomorrow. Willow is heading to Puppy Gymboree tonight and we put a collar on her the first time and she did a stay really really well. She was frozen in time. That's supposed to be funny but lets say she hates the lead or collar on her so this fun session ought to be funny. I left it on her and walked away forcing her to walk with it on. She got better but let's say Willow was more compliant.

Ozzie arrived. Chase departed. Brewski is giving Roxie a hard time in a good way. She just had a bath so I think he likes how she smells.

So Where's the Snow?

Tia departed, Tchibo arrived. They found each other's fun before the departure.

We keep waiting for this snow or rain but it's not coming here, at least. 

I brushed out everyone then combed out. Yesterday was brutal as we had snowballs on EVERYONE. Today not as the snow is not that heavy and wet. I am so tired of combing and doing laundry. lol Maybe I can take a nap?

That's what I will give Nathan... a double nap for Valentine's day. Do you think he will take one? 

Snow Keeps Coming

The snow keeps coming and the dogs are having a fun time. We will try to get more photos of everyone as the day goes on but right now some are saying you need to shovel before we go out THERE.

Snow is Coming

Well Mr. Farley and Ms Clarity has departed. Christine's home sold. We are excited for her. They will be missed. We have a full house this weekend. If we get enough snow and we can dig out, it is going to be fun, fun, fun. Crossing my fingers that we get a significant dump. hehehehe

Panda the pup departs tonight. Everyone will miss the play monkey. Kai finishes her last class next Thursday and we signed her up for Recall. She loves class so. If you are interested, please do sign up. We would love to see more havanese in class. It doesn't matter what age your dog is.

Chinese New Year Plus More

It's the year of the dog and Tenshi and her Mommy and Daddy are preparing for the celebrations. The 2018 Chinese New Year begins on Friday, February 16.

Thursday Tenshi arrives for her bath and trim up so she can be stylin' for the holidays. What a beautiful coat!

Magic also comes that day to get ready for the celebrations. 

Risa is celebrating a no groom day today. LOL

Stormy and Willow have a grand time together but who wouldn't as Stormy is a huge player. Life is not fun unless it's time to play. Anyone who plays with her, she will play with them. 

We had a few flurries today but it has now stopped. We have class tonight with Kai so the blog will end here. :-)

It's Snowing

Dogs were loving the snow but they were also lifting their feet.

We have a puppy (not born here) called Panda who is playing like crazy. Murphy especially had an amazing time with her today as you will see in Leti's video of the play outside. Kai is also connecting and of course she plays with all the pups being a pup herself.

Dogs are out playing like crazy as I type but its too dark to click photos. Soon they will be snuggled in for a nap, I bet in the tv room with Nathan. Me, I have to groom some more.

Getting Cold Again

Snuggles are the best! This is Adele, River and Farley in a deep snuggle and they remained that way for over an hours. LOL

After eating the crew usually like to either hang out in the kitchen or in this case above in the tv room. For some reason they LOVE the tv room. Maybe it's a relax place like it is for us. 

Adele and River are here for the day today, Thursday and then back for a week for Valentine's Day. The daughter is going to sleep on a bed of ice at the ice hotel. I would prefer truffles. LOL

I know where is my sense of adventure.

Happy 6th birthday to Tre, Kobe, Laci, Ringo. Tre and Kolbe was the only one to share a sac and placenta. 

We are off tonight for a dinner with friends so any received photos we will add when we return.
