Happy Birthday!!

Our Coop is six today, wow, where did the time go! Couldn't ask for a better dog, in every way! 

Life is Good

We have been sun soaking but we had some spronkles this morning. I am bummed. The pool is only at 74f. Shall I let it run all night?

Today all the dogs had chicken broth ice cubes outside. They loved it. It created such a mess but that's okay.

I brushed out everyone. We sat out quite a bit today. Dogs are LOVING the warmth and the sun. This morning we had clouds and sprinkles but boy is the sun out bright now.

Crossing my fingers we are swimming tomorrow but the term invigorating comes to mind. The price we pay for such a large pool. 

Have to get plants out and more chairs outside. Off to do that now. The dogs will join me, of course!!

Warm and Sunny

Think I must have ate something that was bad as I am not doing all that well. So short this is. Had lots of photos. Dogs LOVED the cushions going out. Still have chairs to come out and my couch. Dogs are loving this weather and pool is now up to 68F. Not warm enough to swim. Maybe by wednesday night it may be warm enough - yikes - sort of hoping for sooner.

Mother's Day

Hope you are all having a wonderful Mother's Day! The dog's are in their element. It did rain - yep again! It is windy as ever so we have all sorts of debris in the pool. Yes, Nathan is feverishly cleaning it. I want to put the heat on in the pool as Wednesday it will be warm. I am insisting on doing so tomorrow. Nathan is seeing $$ signs rising into the air. But I so enjoy the pool. We do not take holidays so the pool is it. So, I say bring on the heat and we can stop heating if it gets cold again. Crossing my fingers the dogs and I are swimming Wednesday.

Rain, Dry & No Grooming

Well, Nathan got some of them groomed. I don't think it was this crew when this was snapped. What a messy crew they are. Due to rain we also had mud again so I washed feet before I left. 

I went to Lee Valley and bought myself a vegtrug. I am so excited about it. It won't be delivered to the house till closer to the end of the month. Then I will have veggies etc high up. It is something I indulged in with dematting money. Daughter took me and we went out and had Mexican food. The daughter bought me a beautiful fairy ornament. 

Tomorrow I get to go out with Sherry to eat, shop and enjoy. But got dogs to do before I depart. Tonight I have 4 so a short blog it is.

Juggling

Just a few photos posted - no gallery. I had a lot of grooming and I tried out the pressure washer. Oh boy...

I vow to do better after the weekend concludes. We are still having fun. It's not raining. No mud on bodies today. Life is grand and there is nothing like the havanese!!

I had fun putting in braids in Roxie's hair. She's always so good about it too. Nathan had a blast playing with Brewer weeing if he remembers his commands and he does. Dennis and the dogs did the crazy run fun that we do whenever the weather cooperates.

Moxie is so full of it. She is getting them all to chase her and she is reveling in it.

Blogs may be short this week.

Tomorrow night Nathan and I are going to a movie. Then on Saturday they are doing Mother's Day for me. It's complicated but that's when the daughter can do it as she has Mother's Day with her family and his family on Sunday. I almost thought it had to be delayed till June the way it was going. But then we had to factor in Nathan's birthday and Father's Day. It was getting crazy.

Then on Sunday I get to go out with Sherry to eat lunch at a new restaurant and shop. Maybe we will buy some chocolates for ourselves. Who knows....

Dear Tiny sticking his tongue out. He is smitten with Moxie. I have to laugh. He just LOVES her!

Trouble and Dolly came to visit. They both had a riot of fun and then was happy to go. It's worked. Trouble is on the right journey. I still get sad but this gives me some level of contentment. It just takes me time.

Levon and Trigger departed. Dusty is having fun! That little darling Tenshi always manages to have a splendid time. She is such a fun dog. 

It's not warm but it is not raining. I call that a bonus but the dogs are still getting mud packed into their feet. The ground is still saturated and my grass looks like no grass almost. Got to do more seeds, I suppose.

Off to do tv time with the dogs. They look forward to it so but I still have grooming to do first!

Sunny Daze

As you can see, it is still cold but it is sunny! Nose to nose with Moxie - heh. We had a good time today celebrating the warmth. We truly have a wonderful relationship with the dogs. I can't imagine life without the smiles they give us.

Puppy play... nothing like watching it. 

Today Levon hogged the recliner. Poor Trigger so wanted to get up on it to rest with him and Levon let everyone up but Trigger. So, I put Trigger up and he sighed. What a pita, Levon. I say that laughing. It reminds me of the game Roxie plays. She waits till everyone is finished eating then tries to control everyone. It's a game and they have so much fun playing. When Roxie tried that this morning I picked it up and said oh well guess you are not eating. Everyone went out with Nathan. I put the food down and she ate it right up. Yes, just a minor thing like that changes the nah nah look what I have game.

We have a busy week but a fun one. Maybe the rain is gone. We still get caked in and I mean caked in mud on their feet. It's so bad that you can't even brush it out. I wash their feet only to have it happen again. It's an Aleve day - heh. Everyone got combed out. Feet were done way too many times and I am having my first glass of water. All I can say is I truly hope that the mud goes away and I will be wondering what I am doing with all the extra time I will have. 

2 Updates: Before the Groom

Most of these photos were taken before the groomings that I did. Harper just had his bath and cleanup - next is Pepper and Scruffy. I will do then after the blog.

Dogs are really enjoying this weather. The pool is sparkling clean. We finally turned on the heat. When you feel you need a jacket in your house - well.

It was Nathan that had enough but I admit me too.  We were being a bit stubborn, stupid. This is unusual weather and they say rain is coming but we may have a day or two reprieve. Finally but where is that heat?

Dogs are enjoying trampling on the plants. The ground is still wet so they track in mud but this is better than rain. It's funny how your perspective changes.

Murphy has departed. Levon and Trigger arrived. Amy is here for the day. Everyone is playing in a huge way.

I best get to cleaning up Pepper and Scruffy or they will go home scruffy - heh.

Missed

Jazmyn is not ours but she has been visiting us for years. Jazmyn was Marlee's housemate. I just heard that she passed over to the rainbow bridge. We rather loved her and I hope Marlee is doing well considering the loss of Jazmyn. Our hearts go out to Patt, her family and Ms. Marlee. 

We Can Still Have Fun

Doesn't matter that it is wet. We can still have fun and that we do! You will look at these photos and I brushed everyone today. They do not look like it in the least. It is impossible. We also still do not have our heat on and well I have layers on but the dogs do not care. It's my bare feet on the floor that gives me chills. I am determined now not to put it on just because. It is supposed to be warm - isn't it?

Interesting enough our tv room is toasty and that's the room that has a ton of blankets that the dogs love to dig in and get quite cosy in. They all seem to have their favourite spots. Nathan says they are his blankets. 

Oh, and with this rain Moxie is going out and is fine with it. I guess after days and days of this lovely rain, you either embrace or you stay inside. We do go out between the rain falling. 

Poor Murphy leaned over to drink the water in the pool and fell in. Yes, and that pool water was cold. So off she went inside and got warm towels on her and the blow dryers going. Got her all dried and don't you know she was trying it again and I screamed - NO! She stopped and I swear she smiled at me. 

One would think that I do not have water down cause why is she trying to drink from the pool? But I place down 8 bowls - yes 8 bowls - 4 in the kitchen, 2 in the tv room, 1 in the hallway and 1 in my office. We change them all throughout the day. Not that they need that many but I believe in them having access to water always. Plus we use bowls that keep the water cold. They appreciate it. 

Dogs have been having a great time. Tomorrow Harper, Scruffy and Pepper depart. At least they will go home clean. 

2 Updates Today

This is another day of rain and Murphy sums it up by saying - really.....

I want you to know the dogs are having fun but we are at saturating limit in the back. The water is sitting on top of the ground and no longer soaking in. They say we have a few more days of this rain and snow Sunday - really?

The dogs are sick of it. I am sick of it and I brush but they look a mess as soon as they go out. 

They say we have broken records in the rain department this month alone. We have to keep pumping out our pool. It keeps getting the dangerous level of overflowing but we can't backwash anymore as the ground is nit handling the water. 

But still we play games. We have snuggle time - treat time and well we will eventually have no rain. hahahaha

So much for opening the pool. 

Did you notice Moxie knows Dennis has food. hehehehe They do so love him. He won't feed at the table but he does indulge them from time top time.

Amelia, Holly and Secret departed. Harper arrives. Those departing will get washed and not be able to go outside till they get picked up. Good thing we pad train around here as well on days and days of this. But still they are going out each time the rain lightens up.

Happy 8th Birthday!!!

Hi Darlah,

Can't let the day go by without sending a big thank you to Katsura for his part in creating  my fur baby. Ripley turns 8 today! Where has the time gone? There is a steak waiting to be grilled and, as you can see from the picture, we are going to curl up and watch the game tonight. Let's hope they win to make his day a very happy one!

No Gallery Day

Sorry we are playing indoors but everyone is having fun. This was Dallas playing with Nathan today. It is raining and it is supposed to be raining for DAYS and well the dogs are mangy messes but we try. I have 3 baths to do tonight as they depart early in the morning. That means no tv time tonight and no outdoors for them. hehe

The rain is something else. Our pool keeps needing water pumped out or it will overflow and well that means we have to add more salt but its clear. Shall we build a boat?

Good thing we have fun games to do in the house. Plus what is better than snuggle, keep warm and tv time but sniff... only Nathan and Dennis will get that. 

Tomorrow I promise a gallery even if it rains. 

PS: Moxie is full of Moxie. She LOVES and I mean LOVES to play!

Fly and Dance

Ever watch puppies when they have a ton of fun? This was Tenshi flying through the air with Raven. No photos but Amy arrived and Momma Saffron, Tenshi and Amy played at the door and poor Tenshi had to say - play or go or play or go? Wasn't fair of us to have a play session with them before Tenshi departed.

Winston also came for his bath. Since his snip snip his hair is all coming back in so silky. 

Tomorrow night I bathe 3 dogs that will be departing us on Friday. Dallas gets to see us tomorrow - hooray!

They say rain and more rain is coming. Not sure about your place but my ground is saturated. I hope they are wrong about the rain. Still we had fun with the sun today. Mr. Weather is teasing is.

Oh My It's May

This was Teddy. He was perfectly groomed till he backed up and put a foot in the water bowl. That's okay. We dried his foot up nicely. :-) I just love Teddy!! He departed today and so did Chester!

The rain continues. It feels cold. I am still dematting and brushing out dogs. Dogs are having a ton of fun. It doesn't matter if it is pouring, mud comes in, mud goes out - well not really - it just keeps coming in.

Totally a Mess

Inside, outside - tons of rain, mud, wet bodies and I am so done for the day. Brush and comb and brush and comb.

Is it May already? It's still raining - yoo hoo April showers....

It's cold. Still no heat. Dogs see me coming and they run the other way - well actually not but I feel that way as I have brushed them so much. I can imagine them saying ENOUGH lady! Do you have OCD or what?

Dennis looked at the floors he washed last night and shook his head. But the dogs are playing in a BIG way. Ty departs today. Ozzie the schnauzer came for an overnight stay. The dogs went oh my who is THAT but then settled in. It is great conditioning.

Plus who am I to complain. My friend Paula came back from holidays. She had damage from a storm. Oh my gad. So dematting, wet, muddy dogs... no problem.
