Two Updates Today

Amy is visiting and the siblings are having a blast! She's just here for the day and making the most of it.

You will see in the gallery quite a few photos of them full out playing. 

Daisy was supposed to be heading home tomorrow but her mom has the flu. Hope it doesn't last as long as mine did. If it does, the Daisy is welcomed here. 

Dolly and Dusty departs tomorrow and Mr. Cooper arrives. We will miss those departing but mighty excited about seeing Cooper, Anne and Russell. Plus we have the Murphy coming. We always get excited to see her. Saffron gets excited too!

Got to go out to Longos today. I put the groceries in the van while Nathan went to the bagel store. I sat in the van waiting for Nathan and watched this silver and grey long haired guy throw his groceries in his car. He looked angry and all I could think of is wow why buy all those groceries to demolish them. What a waste of energy and money.

Such event-filled days. hahahahaha

So where is the snow they said we were getting? The dogs want to know. No paths this year. For shame!

Happy 5th Birthday!: Another 2 Siblings Added

TreHappy 5th birthday to Tre, Kobe, Laci and Ringo. May you celebrate in style with the half time show. See the world is celebrating your birthday!

Yes we had 2 litters 1 day apart. Imagine that - 5 years ago! Kobe and Tre shared a placenta and was in the same sack. First and only time it has happened.

I hope my 3 brothers are having a fun filled day!  My nieces and nephews phoned & sang me happy birthday and we had a party & cake yesterday.

Mommy & Daddy shared their scrambled eggs w/ me - YUM - my favorite weekend treat.  Mommy laughs @ me b/c I wait for her to lie on her yoga mat and then I run and pat her on the shoulder and ask for a belly massage.  I walk around so she gets me in all the right places.  :-)

Happy 5th Birthday: The Daily Gallery Added

Its Shady's 5th Birthday.  Celebrations are in full swing today!  Shady and Nora have brought our family such joy.  Happy Birthday to his litter mates!

Brie also says happy birthday to Shady, Ossi,  Biggie and Lucy. May it be the best celebration!

On another note, here is the daily gallery.

Raven is doing better with food. She is now eating out of the bowl. She is the slowest eater and would only eat if you spread it out on the floor. As that is not what I want to cultivate, I persisted and the last day she has begrudgingly eaten out of the dish though mighty slowly. As the 3 pups, Thyme, Stormy and Raven eat together under my supervision I get to use leave it. Thyme gets this but Stormy sure tries a lot of tricks to steal Raven's food. Thyme will sit patiently. She wants it but she listens. I am impressed with her.

I was up till 3am so I took a nap today. I had plans to play catch-up washing dogs but just did one for someone else. Tomorrow is a new day. I would like to be fully caught up and start doing my desk etc. When you have plans to accomplish things life gets in the way. Oh well...

We had a long day waiting for MRI results but they are clear. Hooray! They still do not know what is causing the headaches and the vision issues. I believe this is good news.

Sorry this is short. It's been a roller coaster ride today. Going to go wash Risa. Since I was sick, I am slowly playing catch up on my own dogs. Shoshi and Trouble was done today and now it's Risa's turn. 

And It's Another Day

Daisy adores Danielle. She squeals for her just like she does for her momma. But Daisy slathers her with kisses all over her face and won't stop. It's a riot. You will see Danielle reacting to this love she gives in the gallery. She actually adores her. 

We woke up to hearing our grandson has lost all his peripheral sight. He is having serious headaches that won't quit. So we await the MRI results. They are suggesting he may have a tumor. Life is a roller coaster ride, I tell ya. We have class tonight and it may keep us busy till we hear. 

I didn't take many photos of the dogs. I was sort of in a funk after that news. 

But Nathan caught the Dolly with the puppy duo. Pups always manage to have fun.

We also have the Ty and Dusty here. Both are taking a nap with Nathan. Such a life they have - play, nap in the bed and then play again and yum eat ever so well. 

Oh, and Thyme refuses to do a 'down' don't ya love it?

We had a long day today and we are in the midst of playing recovery. Did take photos but seeing that Daisy escaped downstairs with the grand daughter, I didn't get any of her. She likes going downstairs with Dani as it makes her feel special. 

We had a great trip yesterday. The party was a success. We took photos and video and had some great memories. 

This is dad who turned 87 with his glasses that say F&ck Cancer. He has a great attitude. He made us laugh. The banter back and forth was amazing. Then we got in the car to drive back. We stopped and got Wayne's famous egg rolls  on our way out of town. Wish they were local. Snow was light but ice was great. There were too many trucks on the road and a LOT of accidents including one where someone was waving to stop and slow down - yes a guy was doing that in the middle of the freeway. The jaws of life truck was out and so were many fire trucks. We made it home just before midnight. Tracy who left 15 minutes after us arrived home at 130am. It was a long day.

Dennis said the dogs were quiet. The house didn't have noise pollution with tvs on. He liked it despite being sick. He slept till 130pm today. 

We played retrieve outside, chase, hide and seek and had a terrible amount of pure fun today and now Nathan is taking a nap. Driving was so bad so he drove both ways - well he insisted on it.

I must admit I need a nap too. It's snowing again and those not having a nap with Nathan will come out and play with me. No more photos. I am heading out to have fun without having to click.

Glad we made this trip as it truly made Dad's day and us too!

Roxie Says

It's time to take a break today. Hope you don't mind but we will play catch up tomorrow. 

Off to see dad in Ottawa to take photos, try not to talk about Trump and stay awake for the very long drive. We will probably be back around 1am only to get up ay 7am. Tomorrow we will be tired.

Tomorrow's update will be mighty short as we head to Ottawa just for the day. Dennis will be holding down the fort. It will do me good to be off line. :-)

They say snow tomorrow. That should be fun.

More Just a Dusting

We had a full house this weekend and then slowly they started going home. We had another light dusting of snow but that is it. It was enough to get the dogs excited though. I like the dogs in motion. 

I am thankful I was able to do full grooms today. Still sick but better each day. No nap today. Progress! Hooray. May I not be sick for the rest of the year!!

Dogs are having fun. I took another 2 hour nap. I do not take naps but this what have you seems to not be departing fully. I am better just not completely. 

Teddy departs tomorrow. Holly is visiting for the day. Daisy is here for the week. Cosmo is having fun! Mia is here for the weekend. Dolly ADORES Stormy! It's a full house with a ton of fun. Everyone appreciated the dusting. It brings them to life. 

Tenshi I am bathing tomorrow as she looks like a scallywag - a cute one at that! Glad I am well enough to groom in moderation. Tucker is here for a very short play date tomorrow and a grooming.

Pups and the Adults

It's supposed to snow but I am not seeing it. The dogs are managing to have fun. Dolly was caught playing tug with Stormy. I also caught Raven snuggling with Teddy and Teddy allowing it. At first he thought they were gremlins especially that Stormy thing as she is pretty persistent. Now a snuggle feels good.

I am not sure why but Stormy prefers a higher water dish that she barely can drink from. We change water and clean bowls many times a day. It's important to always have fresh water. Our steel water dishes have a cooling core in them to keep the water cold. They are called Frosty Bowlz. We love them as they have cold water no matter what the weather is and they keep things cool from morning till bedtime.

The dogs are rather enjoying each other. We will snap when we can. They will nap when they can and we will play and then chill again. Such is a life of a dawg - fun!!

Done and Wet

Saffron is now finished her heat. She just had a bath so she can be out in general population without the residual smell that she is still in heat. I do believe she is happy about it.

I am better today. Just trying to figure out if that means better enough to go to class or not. 

I thought Thyme needed a bath and then she ran outside and got muddy as ever and I said oh she really needs a bath and Nathan says - no you are not up to it. 

Dogs are getting wetter than wet and mucky. There are some that truly enjoy cuddling in on the desk, on the chairs - wherever there are blankets in the tv room and that's everywhere. It's a dog's comfort room. Nathan thought it was a man cave - yeah right.

The 2 pups have their vaccinations tomorrow. Will be interesting to see what they weigh. 

Gloomy But Fun Day

Still very sick. Crawling back on the couch after I type here. Was hoping I was better today and I think I was then I started grooming and oh well I need the couch. Here is today's gallery. 

Pictured above is Nathan trying obedience out on Barney. Every now and then he tests this dog or that just to treat and have fun with them. Barney departs tonight. I just finished his bath and clean up. 

Nathan says he is still sick but he is leagues better than me. I have to start boosting my immune system or reducing my workload. Otherwise I have to tolerate these zingers.

Can I make it to class tomorrow.... unless a miracle happens... it is debatable. But I so hope he brings me home Noodles if I don't go. Good sign - I am hungry.

Winston was here as well for grooming, trim etc. He had a blast. 

If I am not making sense, forgive me. 

Will tell you something interesting. As I am sick, the dogs all surround my body at night from head to toe sleeping extra close to me. They started doing this when I got sick. It's mighty uncomfie but trying to figure out why they are doing it. Are they trying to keep me warm? I am so warm I have a fan on. hmmm 

Leti starts at my neck with her rump saddled up to me then the next dog shoulder or so down and on and on till they end up back at my head again. It's awful when you have to make that 4am bathroom break but it must be love so I say okay....

Fun Gloomy Day

Play with me Dolly, Stormy implores

And so it began lots of crazy play today. See the gallery. Dolly rather loves the Stormy.

Everyone is having a blast. I am still really sick so we shall see how tomorrow goes.

Usually I would do updates on the pups in their blogs but 1 blog today.

Raven is a slow eater to the point that she prefers you to put her food on the floor in little bits. Stormy eats hers and wants to steal everyone else's. Raven gives solid neck hugs where Stormy is too busy to take the time for them unless exhausted. Stormy is more high maintenance. She is always getting into trouble. Raven is more laidback but she doesn't allow anyone to trample on her. They are night and day. When I feel better I will weigh them. 

Also note: Do not give your pups bully sticks. We have found they loosen the stools. It seems to happen with most havanese. One doesn't know till they try and that is the end result. Also give treats in moderation. I only treat after grooming. For instance I have been sick so grooming for the pups is not happening. They have not had a treat and they are fine with it. Treats are to be used to wow you did that!

I am hoping I can make it to class on Thursday. We shall see. 

Another Day

We woke up to this - foggy as all get out! It is mucky and wet outside.

Tenshi is visiting and managed to get a muddy mess. I pray I am better tomorrow as she needs a bath. Dolly looked like she was all brown. They are having fun. Teddy stayed clean and walked around the wet. Good one, Teddy.

I am still very sick. Nathan is sick. I didn't get to brush out Murphy. I feel ever so bad. I was in bed. Dennis is not sick - hooray!! I am staying away from the door so no one else gets this. Off to comb out Logan and Panda and Brewer then climb into the couch. That is actually an improvement cause yesterday grooming was not possible.

Photos as I can but not today. Dennis has been great playing silly games with the dogs. He is great!

I am too sick for updates. I have probably been awake for 6 hours today. The rest has been sleeping on the couch.

Dennis and Nathan are holding down the fort. Me, I can't. Dogs are having fun. Me - not so much.

Oh My

I had everyone brushed so they headed outside and yes this is what they looked like after combing them all out. Today I have chills so this sight is not laughable. It's oh my gad now what? I was fine this morning but this afternoon I have chills and a fever. The throat is scratchy and I am not finishing the front room nor the grooming tools. I will get there.

Dennis did take them upstairs to play and run so I didn't have even more work. See the gallery.

Last night Murphy and Saffron slept with Dennis in his room. Saffron is still in heat and this gave her company. It made them both happy as they were spoiled silly.

Dolly was falling asleep sitting up after a full day of play. I took her in the recliner with Teddy and we all rested. Nathan was taking a nap with a few others. They have so much fun that they get really tired. We make sure they get their naps. Teddy finds laps exceptional.

The pups also take naps a number of times a day. Can you tell Stormy is chillin? What is interesting the past couple of days is Raven has become mighty comfie telling Stormy 'enough' and she does need that at times. Raven is really coming into herself. 

But we have a problem. Stormy is relentless when it comes to chewing shoes. So, I am on the hunt for a closed shoe rack that will fit maybe 4 shoes at the back door. She seems to get so much glee from chewing and I am reminded she 'is' teething but you chew on treats and toys. We will see how it unfolds but if you see an enclosed shoe rack, please send me the info. It's on our list to buy yesterday if not sooner.

I really can't be sick.

What a Day

I have to laugh at days like this. The Dolly came to visit us - a positive. Teddy is here - a positive! Murphy arrived - a positive!

I went out to get a table to fit my shampoo/conditioner and my grooming tools. It is a Mastercraft Base Workbench that you usually use in your garage. Dennis is building it. Tracy and I picked it up at Canadian Tire. It was on sale. I am tired of my grooming room looking like a disorganized mess. I have been saving for a bit. The box was 80 lbs so getting it to the van required help. We got it home and Dennis shook his head saying I thought I had a day off. <sigh> Yes, he needs a day off.

While I was there I bought 65. worth of bulbs that we needed for the kitchen as they burned out. There are 4 long tubes and 2 u tubes. Over $10 a lightbulb with no other choices. Good thing these ones last. They are used daily but its been years since we had a burn out. My tips also went to these. I think I need the $$ back. You will see why. 

Nathan goes to put a u tube bulb in and it fell out of the ceiling lighting. Dogs that were in the kitchen were carried out of room. I checked pads, blew their pads incase something was lodged. No one had an issue and I was very thorough. Dennis was in a mood saying if he did it then it wouldn't have happened. I just shut my mouth, cleaned all the counters and Dennis did the floor. I am not sure Nathan appreciated Dennis' mood. 

Then Nathan went to move one of the tubes on the counter and one rolled off and again a broken bulb. We repeat the above process. Dennis is really in a tizzy as once again we have to clean again. No dogs were in the room. I was thinking how could this happen. Then Dennis started taking the old bulbs to wrap them to dispose of them and HE breaks one. 

After cleaning, I started in on the front room trying to organize, throw things out that was stored in there when we had pups. It has to go somewhere. We also have club stuff in there and Nathan is no longer the president. He figured 2 terms was enough and I agree. We need to lighten the load not go crazy filling it. So, all that stuff has to be shipped out. I need to tag it and ship it out. It's boxes and boxes of stuff. Oh my. So, it now looks like a war zone. Things do not look pretty when you are midstream trying to clean and organize. I wanted to do my desk first but gee this happens. Hopefully by tomorrow I will make a dent but I am not sure. We have puppy potential people coming and I have a full grooming day. Maybe a late night tonight? 

I didn't groom today other than Teddy, Murphy, Logan and Panda. 

Dennis is still working on the table and when he is done I have to make room, fill it with my supplies and on to the next thing. 

So no gallery... and I am not super human.

Today

I had Chester perfect but as a puppy and he is a puppy he couldn't help but smoosh his face. I laughed and clicked anyway. I kep brushing and trying to capture but he was having none of it. I love it!

Teddy was looking for the recliner in th tv room. It is actually his fave spot. It is Brewer's fave spot too. Brewer got it this time. Teddy got to go upstairs and take a nap with Nathan. I think they both won in this situation. 

Thyme had her rabies shot today. I keep telling Nathan not to book on class night. Oh well. She now weighs 8lb 5oz. I should bring Chester upstairs to see what he weighs. The scale is back upstairs. 

Now I have to wash Thyme. It's A & W night. hahahaha
