The Heat is Still On

We have been wetting the cement to make sure it stays cool on the dog's feet. It is still hot and it will be for days. What an interesting summer but we have managed to make sure they get their exercise but not overheat.

Harlow looked out the door today and decided the cool floor was better than that. Many of the dogs chose indoors. Outdoors was small bits of time. Heck, I went outside and decided indoors was better. LOL

We are on a mission. Every week we seem to do many many dog beds and blankets. This is day 2 as Dennis is on a mission to get them done. I am still 4 loads away. He forgets about it. I keep checking on it. 

Last night I made my bed with fresh sheets and the dogs rubbed themselves all over it. See, they appreciate fresh cleaned too!

Oh My Record Breaking Heat

Well, today Yoshi was bred so come fall, we will have 3 litters. We must be nuts but we had a long lull of no litters. Yoshi is a small gal so she will have small pups - 7 to 9 lbs, I suspect. Her pups would be due around September 23rd. Going to be a full house indeed. 

It is hot today - like beyond hot. We let dogs in and out early and will go out late again and we also had short ventures outdoors. This heat is truly something else. The dogs do not like it but if I am out, they want to be out. 

Harlow had to go in to get her tummy drained and they got the most they ever got out of her. She feels so much better. She was ignoring outdoors and now she is a happy gal. I tried to find her breeder to see if she is stiill around (just incase she wants to hear about her) but have been unsuccessful. The gal is loved and is happy. At 7am this morning she was out trying to see if there were any rabbits. She hasn't done that for a bit. I am glad.

Soon we will be doing tv snuggles. It is Dennis day off and he has been in his room all day. LOL When pups come days off go. sigh But pups will be fun! The cold won't be and here I am complaining about the heat. Can't win.

Miss Mia departed today - over 16 and she is still opinionated. I hear her sister is too. Lola arrived. 

It actually is a quiet house, at the moment.

Oh Down Time

I spent a fair bit of time today grooming so although I always see the dogs betyween groomings or have some join me and rotate them, Dennis and Nathan has spent the time with the dogs.

Cooler in July

Harlow was truly enjoying heading outside to enjoy the fresh air. Dennis had a bunch of the dogs on the outdoor couch. It lays flat where you want to and they love lounging on it. They get the fresh air and the chilling time. 

I combed out a bunch of dogs. 

I am about to watch tv with Dennis and eat a green apple Italian ice that I have never had before. Hope it is not gross but I will soon find out. 

The dogs will sit with me and Dennis - some with Nathan and we will enjoy a tv show that we watched yesterday and will continue today.

I am also trying to figure out where we setup the pens and if we have to remove a couch or? One would think I had it all down pat but each time it changes. LOL Mommas are doing well. 

Warmish Day Out

These are 2 Hallie pups - siblings. Jax is a brindle and Tuppy is a chocolate with green eyes. We also have Petey here who is from Nami. But you can go through their blogs to see the pups of the past. Just so you know.

Dogs had fun. Nami has pups coming to board so I will post theirs then. 

The dogs were enjoying this cooler weather. It is supposed to warm up again tomorrow but of course I am grooming all day then. LOL It is what it is.

I had planned to do a blanket for Nami's pen. I want something new but been too busy and lacking creativity. Sherry has made me a number of them so I will use hers after the initial baby shots.See, I am thinking and trying to get ready but still have time. 

Going to lose my August but gain tiny human beings. Imagine that! 

Fun But Hot Day Again

Had a large amount of dogs that I had to groom. Some for the day - and some that were departing that also needed grooming.

Tomorrow is my day off. 

I have a tummy ache that won't quit. I am not sure why. But I want to lay down.

The dogs played. They had a ton of fun. Yoshi is in heat. 

Brewer and Brodie departed and Brodie was trying to eat my pocket as I had duck treats in my grooming pocket so I relented and gave the 2 a treat. I thought it would make his day but he wanted MORE. Some dogs are treat-a-holics.

Kandoo's brother and mother hung out together. It was fun to watch.

The little puppy is Tessa and she is having a wonderful time. I do believe every dog is.

Long Day But a Fun One

Dogs had fun. Weather was cooler so we got way more time outside - hooray! I have been busy doing brushouts. No pool today but that is okay. Can't be greedy, can we? 

It is Nathan's day off so that means I do his jobs and mine. hahahaha

Nathan got bit by something and I think it may be a mosquito but he says it really really hurts. Who knows. He should get it checked.

Dogs are heading back out so I am heading out there with them. I need to water, besides.

I am busy doing face cloths for puppies. I design some so they look nice. Silly, I know but this way they each have new unique ones.

Lined Up

Dogs are having fun. They are funny. Even they manage the weather sticking out their noses to see if it is agreeable.

We do not take Harlow out when it is too hot or smoky till early morning and just before bed. 

Nami and Hallie are getting big tummies. Their xrays will be on August 5th. Before then, I will put belly photos up etc

They are now eating 3 times a day.  

I am tired - apologies - short blog. They are all having fun!

Nathan's day off is tomorrow.

Weather Weather

Supposedly we are getting rain. I am hoping. I am tired of smoke so we need clean air. 

Dogs get to go out for an extended period early and late till this passes. 

I like the heat as it means swimming but I seem to have allergies to smoke. My nose runs constantly. I am itchy and it only happens on smoke alert days. hmm Can you imagibe what it does to the dogs but Nathan and Dennis have no reaction. Why is that?

Dogs played. They had fun. I have a full day of grooming so I may go to bed early with a few dogs.That is my excuse. hahaha

We still manage to get creative to keep the dogs active so they do get tired. 

Oh Really Heated

Unbelievable heat this summer but thank you as the air conditioning is working.

Many dogs departed today. 

It is my day off tomorrow and I need it as I have a full day Thursday.

The dogs really prefer inside except early in the day and late at night.

The play is grand despite the weather but mostly indoors.

Some real players departed today. 

The dogs told me they want to nap with me. Yes, I heard them - so laughing!

Swim and Play

We took Yoshi's baby Tickles into the pool as she is shaved down. When we take dogs into the pool, we must comb them out. Due to that, I tend to take dogs that are getting groomed in only and do it before they depart. Sounds selfish - I know but its a lot of work. Everyone wants their dog to swim - I know - sorry. I do my best here and there to take someone in. It just works that we can take them in when also getting groomed.

Tickles is a VERY strong swimmer and had a blast. It was fun to see her. 

Astro swam earlier too and she is departing tomorrow. 

We are under yet another heatwave and I have a lot of dogs to groom tomorrow. Personally, I haven't had time to get into the pool but Nathan has. LOL

It is Dennis day off and all the dogs want to be with him. He is sitting outside playing games surrounded by dogs.

Moms and Heat

Yoshi was blessed to have her 2 babies for a visit today. She is so delighted, it is unreal. I can't explain it fully but it as if someone gave her the best present in the world. It is delightful to see.

It is steamy hot today. Dogs have played in and out - mostly in. 

We have some new dogs here and many departed. 

It is dinner time and they all look forward to it. It is yum lean ground beef cooking as I type. The dogs eat well.

Another Hot Day

We always have heatwaves but this year off and on nobstop muggy heat. Thank gad for air conditioning. The dogs would be miserable and so would I. LOL

As you can see, Ollie is getting delicious play and kisses. 

I had a very full day of grooming so I did minimal exercising to keep my streak. It may be that way for a few days. I am actually too tired to do another dog so I will get up at 7am and skip breakfast. LOL My schedule is like this till Wednesday when I will take my day off. Please do not ask me to groom on Wednesday. I need a day off. My day off was supposed to be Monday. 

We have 17.5 old Remy here who will depart tomorrow and come back in August. He is doing well and we have no issue having him back. Besides, it creates memories that I will treasure forevermore.

We do have a full house but it is a fun one. No one seems to be going to the states but some are going to Mexico. 

Tomorrow we have Vivi, Logan, Panda and Benji departing the rest is coming for the day. 

I am so tired today that I probably am not making sense. I need a couch with dogs. I am that tired. 

Still, the dogs had fun. They do not want to stay out. I don't either. lol

Hallie and Nami have just started eating 3 times a day. 

Play is the Game Today

Yoshi and her daughter Tickles played and played all day long. They had such joy in play today. They were not the only one.

It is muggy and hot. They say rain is coming but I don't see it. It is simply more comfortable inside.

With a full house, Nathan likes it extra cold as he says during the night he gets hot with the dogs. Me, I have dogs all over me and I have blankets on. It is so funny.

It was a greenies sort of a day. We were handing them out. The dogs love them - all but one.

It was a less humid day so the dogs spent more time outdoors.

The dogs played. They had a ton of fun and I am finding more and more the dogs appreciate the grates, the air conditioner and the cool floor.

We had to go to Walmart to get baby wipes and found a cooling bed. It was large and on sale for $20. We will see who uses it tonight. Even if I place it on the bed - well we will see.

We also stopped at Baskin Robbins and I got a sorbet. It was so delightfully refreshing.

I also ran with the dogs down the sidewalks. It was fun and I can do that now with all this exercise and not even feel tuckered out. It feels so joyful to do this with the dogs before it got too warm.

Indoor Playing and the Rain Came

It is my day off so I am going to go upstairs and veg. 

It has been a day of Dollar store, Loblaws and well back home as it was terribly humid today.

The dogs love the indoors due to the air conditioning. Can you blame them?

Getting a Happy On

Harlow had a great day. She got a cheeseburger and her dad was with her. She was delighted but she still wants that air conditioner. It was great to spend time with her dad too.

This was a no pool day. 

I had some grooming to do. We had a visit. I got my exercise in. Tomorrow is my day off and yum it is popcorn time, I say.

We have a busy fun home, at the moment. Dog friends are in abundance - new - old and everything between. 

I even mowed the lawn. What can I say - hahaha miracles as no one else can. Nathan says he can't. Dennis is allergic so it is n

Cooling Down

It is a small gallery. Nathan and I are out to the Keg for Lobsterfest thank you to a giftcard from a special someone's little one's family for his birthday. It is Nathan's fave restaurant.

Dogs were enjoying the cooler weather. It was great chillin'. They said that they were happy that it was cooler but still warm. I heard them speak to me - honest. LOL

No swimming today but that is okay. No day off - till Wednesday. It is a crazy week but a fun one. 

Congrats on a baby being born - grandchild for Ellie and Coco's parents.

Early blog so not much to talk about but we are still doing fun things. The dogs go and come and we have fun!

Hot Day Today

It was steamy hot today. Dogs were only allowed out now and for short periods of time throughout the day. Go out, do your business and back in despite you wanting to laze outside. We have a number of senior dogs that just can't tolerate the heat. Harlow is one of them. So, we are careful.

Looks like no day off for me tomorrow. Nathan missed a dog so she will be done tomorrow. I will take Wednesday off. Oh well. It is supposed to cool down tonight - hooray!
