Two Weeks Old

Can you believe these pups are 2 weeks already? What are we waiting for? Eyes to open. Now that will be fun. 

Yoshi is amazing. She gives them mega attention and then she makes sure she is eating, resting and resupplying her milk. They are gaining. We have 3 over 1lb and 2 almost at 1lb. They are still a few ounces lighter than Nami's pups. They seem to be on track for her pups. 

In a week or so they will be out of their whelping box. They will have a reduced pen size till Nami and Hallie pups depart.

13 Days Old

Hard to believe they are almost 2 weeks old. How did that happen. Yoshi is such a grand mom. Within the week, they will be attempting to get up on their legs to walk under the rails. Their eyes will open and their world as they know it will change. I imagine they will enjoy the journey.

Within a week after the older puppies depart, this crew will be upstairs without moms and Dennis will sleep in his bed the 1st time in months.

12 Days Old

The pups are really growing and getting more active. Yoshi is such a great mom. She gets them all in place to feed. It is a riot to watch. 

I can't believe how much Yoshi is eating. I mean she is eating about 8 times a day. It is an insane amount. She feeds the pups. She eats and of course she wants duck treats. I guess that is how she is managing to have enough milk for the pups. Let's just eat and eat and eat. She is not gaining. It is all going to milk supply.

11 Days Old

The pups are strong puppies. Yoshi is a confident mom. She dotes on them but also feels confident enough to go out of the xpen to cool off and to eat and drink. She is a great mom. 

She gets snuggles daily while they sleep sitting on my lap on the recliner. It is important for moms to get special attention throughout the day. You can tell, it makes them feel special. They are doing such an incredible amount of work as are we as the pups are always monitored. 

On occassion we have to help a stray pup on but they do rather well finding the milk stations. All pups are gaining well. 

It is hard to believe that when Hallie pups depart, these pups will be out of their whelping box playing. At that time, we will remove their pen and place them in the larger pen. I no longer will have to climb on to the couch. There is no room, at the moment in here. 

Nathan doesn't spend their early days with the pups. He waits for them to be walking and playing but I find these early days you get to know them really well. I enjoy all the stages.

If there are issues, it is I that stays up all night but other than a surprise pup, these pups are like Nami and Hallie's pups - they bring no challenges to overcome. I thought they may with how tiny Yoshi is when I learned how many pups she was having. But we had a welcomed surprise.

I am pleased with the pups and Yoshi. I consider her a dream mom.

10 Days Old

Pups are already 10 days old. How did that happen?

Here is the gallery. More will be added through the day.

If you look at the pups now, they have all filled out and they have doubled their birth weight. This is the timeframe that you look for them to do that. They are gaining nicely and are fat and plump.

Yoshi is now full of milk where she is hanging at times as they are eating more and therefore the amount of milk they need increases. Mom and pups are doing really well. They are active as they were right from birth and they all have round tummies.

Most likely other than #1 and the last, they most likely will be smaller than Hallie and Nami's pups. We shall see how it goes. I will tell you at the 6 week mark.

9 Days Old

Here is the gallery. I will add to it throughout the day.

The norm is to look at 10 days and see if the pups have doubled their weight and these pups have already. 

It is interesting now that the smallest can't be seen as the smallest by simply a visual. They are all gaining quite nicely.

I noticed tan eyebrows becoming more pronounced on the tri pups. It is going to be so cute. 

These pups will be going home before our December Break boarding begins. It is going to be a long stretch of busy-ness. 

As soon as Hallie and Nami pups depart, you will see these pups coming out to play.

8 Days Old

Whole Week

Here is the gallery.

Can you believe we made it to a full week. They pups are active. They are growing and gaining weight daily. Momma is taking care of them well. She so loves the pups. You can tell. She lights up when they wake up. She makes sure you are not taking them any where  when you go to show them off. 

Every now and then they cry to get them to let her milk down. This is a trigger to mom that her pups need to eat.

Day 6

Here is the gallery.

These pups will go home November 30th weekend just before the crazy December rush. 

We do board so if you are going away, we will need to know if we are boarding them. I know crazy to talk about this in September but we book up fast.

These pups are gaining and getting plump. They do make noises if they want to feed. Yoshi seems to have them trained. LOL

Most have tan points on them. The blacks are blacker than black like Hallie's boy. 

They want for nothing. Yoshi is amazing but she does get out and eat and drink to replenish herself before taking care of them.

Calling it Day 5

Here is the gallery. I will add to it throughout the day.

As the bulk was born one day and 1 born just before midnight, we will call it day 5. 

One of the pups does roll overs consistently. It is one of the white and black pups. It is a riot. It is as if he is playing a game with himself. I bet he will end up being a true character.

Pups are gaining. They want not for much. Feed me, clean me, snuggle me and I am good and they are.

I still marvel over the reality that she had 6. I hope they fit to feed as they grow larger. We may be feeding this crew a tad earlier if it becomes a struggle for her to fit them all in. We shall see.
