Wet Wet Day

It's been wet so we had less time outside - their choice and who can blame them. I am going to wash Katie. I have been combing her but I am waiting till its not so wet as it defeats itself. 

Katie has been here for quite awhile and I am not sure how much longer but Ruth is getting better. 

We had a busy day as we had Teddy the rescue go for his checkup. You can read his blog to see how he is doing.

Thunder, Keke, Opus and Logan and Panda are arriving tomorrow for the weekend. Meadow and Daisy are coming for grooming and play. Tomorrow we pick up another rescue who will be going to Sudbury. We are trying to figure out transportation.

Tonight I have to attempt to setup the puppy room upstairs as they are destined to go there at night in a few days. I will start and Dennis will finish. 

Dogs played well and had fun. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law was here today dripping off Corey and Chiclet. They will be here for 10 days. They are doing well despite human mom thinking they wouldn't. Chiclet is on nathan's head and Corey was sitting with Dennis till he went to bed and now he's laying up in the top of the couch with Nathan in the tv room.

I need to get moving. I have videos to upload and a room to do. I hope I do a good job fast. LOL

One would think it was an easy thing to do - just click but when you try, someone like Pablo stands at your feet making it impossible to click and worse - HE KNOWS IT. LOL

The dogs had a ton if fun today. They ran. They dragged in all leaves and twigs inside. The operative word was fun.

Coach, Sassy, Pablo and Frannie departed today. Ms Ellie was here for the day. Tomorrow Siapoa and Dimsum departs. The house is getting empty.

Nathan sits outside with his toque on, a jacket and enjoys the dogs. Better him than me. I hate cold. I will go out when something fun is going on and I have the time but bring that summer back!

I think the cold is invigorating to the dogs. They ran and ran.

Who Plays

In reality there isn't a single dog that doesn't play here. Eventually they do as this house is - well a safe and fun place. I am glad we can give that to the dogs.

Harlow and Oakley was caught playing as you will see above. Oakley departed today and Ms. Harlow departs tomorrow night. Pablo comes tomorrow overnight. Pablo is one of the party hearty boys. Coco the Maltese comes for the day and Benji and Tia depart. Tia is a senior and sometimes she finds the play too much and then suddenly she plays. It's on her terms. LOL Benjamin as you will see in all the galleries thinks everyone is his best pal and even thinks he will get away with stealing Roxie's food. Pingo get combed and looks like a ragamuffin from all the play minutes later much like Rebel. I could go on but each plays and enjoys but afte the day of activity winds down, tv time is enjoyed and Nathan is often found crushed on the reclining couch trying to see the tv. I could go on but will keep that for another day.

We have another rescue coming in on Friday sobetween all the interest in Teddy and arranging a new one and my usual, I am sadly behind.

Archie departed today. Kally goes tonight. Leo has been hanging out and enjoying. Oakley departs tomorrow and so does Amy, Leo and Winston. Teffy has been in the midst of everyone - no issue.

TV and Outdoors

Louis came over with his owners. I couldn't go out but for a minute as I had so many to groom. But it looked like all was having fun. You will see some photos, at my insistence in the gallery.

We have a full house but a fun one this week. We had 2 cancellations over the holidays but already 2 new are booked replacing those that cancelled. We still have some spots so if you are going away... your dogs need a holiday too.

Barney was here today plus Ellie and Leo has joined us. Tenshi departs tonight. We will miss her but her mom and dad need her in Montreal and I get that!

Coach and Sassy also arrived. They are from Wasabi's first litter.

Dennis made me good quality hotdogs and scrambled eggs. It was delish. He only microwaves so for him to cook was great. He knew I was extra busy today. A wonderful surprise and no he doesn't read the blogs. He is now sleeping till 10 and then I get to crawl into bed about 1030ish.

In and Outside

We have a number of visitors so there is a lot of play. I swear when the visitors depart, our dogs sleep for days. I am not sure if they are recuperating from all the play or they are depressed or a little of both. They do have each other but there is nothing like having the opportunity to be social.

It was a great day. Teddy was trying to play with Diamond. She was starting to play back. I didn't expect for him to attempt engaging with the other dogs but so impressed. I need to give him a bath today. I thought I had to wait for a few days so he settled in but he seems to be doing well with everything so far and he really needs a bath.

Coach and Sassy arrived today. They are already playing. They are from Wasabi's 1st litter and love to play still. This is Coach in the photo - black and white.

In Step

We have a few visitors. It almost feels like the holiday season and it is delightful to have the activity. Look at these two in step with each other and thoroughly enjoying each others company.

We had a busy day. We went to get Teddy, who is staying here under the umbrella of Havanese Fanciers Rescue of Canada. I am on the commitee of rescue and have a fabulous group that genuinely care. The Havanese Fanciers site has been down so I will post here about Teddy's experiences. When that goes live again, we will place his photo and bio there. Claire who also does the social media will be posting updates there. We are all in his corner to have the forever life he deserves.

The dogs that are visiting are having a great time. I am sadly behind as I had so much on my plate today but it was still a lovely day. It's cold out. The dogs seem to enjoy the briskness and most of all - hooray no rain.

Last night I was not doing well. I did something stupid. I had a door open at the top of my desk. I bent over and stood up fast only to have the top of my head connect with the corner. I have a good size egg on the top of my head but no cut. I was in a lot of pain. I was vomiting and queasy. This morning I felt better though the head still is sore. How stupid can I be but get this not stupid enough as I left it open again but noticed I did so didn't do it again but really, Darlah! Interesting enough all night long the dogs licked my face, my head. They did not want me to sleep. Havanese are the best but tonight sleep guys!

We have a wonderful bunch of dogs visiting. They are outstanding. They play and play. If you want a smile - well they will fill your wish.

We have a lot of fun dogs at the moment.

Tomorrow Nathan and I are taking a drive to pick up a rescue havanese named Teddy. He's on the large size and lives a relative sedate life. We will see about getting him to enjoying after he adjusts. We will be posting after he is here.

We are still waiting for Kally who will arrive at 9 tonight. Tomorrow Diamond comes for fun.

People are going shopping and we have visitors. No matter what has happened this year, what a grand way to end the year.

Drier Day

Nice to see visitors this year. Covid stopped people from travelling and now that people have shots, people are travelling again and we get to see their dogs. We have Ollie, Pingo, Benji, Tia, Rusty, Luna and Kally coming tomorrow. Now that is so much fun. Each brings an element of fun that I look forward to.

If you want fun in a small package - well Coco the maltese will be here for the day. She makes us all laugh.

Archie came in with exhuberence as if he was invited to a party and well he was the guy that everyone was waiting for. LOL Siopao and Dimsum immediately got comfortable and in their element even though its been some time. It may have been some time but they remember. We so make sure they have grand memories.

As the winter starts heralding in - it feels like normalcy and that we celebrate!

Melting

No one was crazy over the weather today. It couldn't make up its mind but it felt damp cold. That's okay. The dogs do play well indoors.

We are hoping for a warmer day tomorrow. Maybe those days won't come till April?

Want to Buy Plus More

Did anyone buy this comb at my suggestion and you do not use it? If so, I want to buy it. They do not make it anymore and it's the one thing I was using all day every day.

When it is raining you run inside. Here is the gallery. Although the dogs went out, most stayed under the deck. I truly believe they like snow much more than rain and can you blame them?

Slowly Grooming

We or shall I say ME is slowly grooming here and there. I have not got to Tenshi yet but oh boy she has been playing hard and looks like a wild child.

Everyone had a blast today. Harlow has taken possession of the up high bed now in the tv room so she can look down and surgery all. LOL

People are going away and we get to have their dogs visit. We are so excited.

Fun Fun Day

We had a full house of fun today. I have much grooming to do. LOL Leaves in the house, stuck to them and wild abadoned fun. They so enjoyed each other and I enjoyed watching all of them. The play was great today. Those that went home are probably napping. Those that remain are napping after dinner.

We had a couple of videos uploaded that Nathan took. He should have taken more.

Our son Jon came over and outdoor furniture and pool stuff is away with the lone table and chairs that can stay out so we have something to sit on in the winter if we are so inclined.

It is going to be a fun winter as we will have pups playing in white stuff. I hate cold but I surely enjoy watching the pups in winter.

Will it snow a great deal? I can't remember a great storm for what 30 years when the city was shut down and we had a crazy neighbour that shovelled his way all day long to the main street. Those were storms. As Nathan says, we do not need a snowblower. We have our arms. All these years I think we still need a snowblower. Will we get one this year? I doubt it. But here is hoping.

Deep Fall

It's deep Fall and we are having fun. The pool cover is on and the dogs are running all over it as you will see in a couple of videos.

The weather was splendid without rain. A friend told me she is having slushy snow. We are lucky not here.

We had a visitor Odin who slowly opened up and had fun. I love to see that in a 1st timer. The dogs are so inviting to others that are new. Havanese are truly special!

You will also see Pepper getting everyone to chase her. What a spirit. Ms. Daisy also found the cover fun and so did Katie - ih they all did!

Gucci was here and played her heart out. Ms Harlow is hunting chipmunks and she has Stone helping her. They just started this game but they both seem fascinated by their antics as if they want to play with them.

Brewer is excited to be here again and is playing in the leaves and had them all throughout his coat. I think it is time for Dennis to keep at it daily. lol Dogs like Brewer think the leaves are for jumping in and making a mess. I love his spirit.

Thank you to Sherry for a lunch treat - Phillies and thank you for Daisy's mom who gave us this box of Italian desserts that I must know where to buy from. Actually you all need to know. LOL Thank you to Pepper's mom for coffee and donuts. The donuts disappeared down Dennis throat in a flash. I feel spoiled. Not many days like that but today was it and I so appreciate it!

Oh and I started a blog for Tempie. She is in heat.

My ipad keyboard cover broke and a new one arrived and now I have lost my apple pen. We need trackers on them - well I do. I guess it will show up sometime. I am irritated at myself! How can you lose an Apple pencil - easy I say!

Cover and Rain

First thing this morning the pool cover went on. This is a safety cover that 4 adult humans can stand on.

Harlow was trying to figure out why this again? Yes, this means eventually the white stuff will come.

Instead of running all over it like they usually do, they walked on it. They smelled it and went okay. It may have had something to do with the impending rain.

Nice Fall Day

Weather is warmish for a Fall day. Hoping it stays that way. Good news, we may have photos of the dogs running over the pool cover. Supposedly we close tomorrow but I do not know what time. That is why I say we may. If it is late, the photos will have to wait till the next day as it gets so dark so early. We have never closed in November and the 9th - wow. Maybe it will feel like it is early when we open. Only 5 months to opening. I am not hopeful, am I?

After the pool is closed we have to try to get a son over here to give Dennis help in moving the furniture inside. The dogs will miss it. We also have to get all the statues in but it will also give them more space to play and they rather like that. Nathan will probably keep a chair out that he can sit on - maybe under the gazebo. We shall see.

The dogs had a LOT of fun today. Dennis took up the leaves and the dogs did their best to ruin his plans. But good for him, he laughed about it. He also skimmed the pool and we are doing the last recirculation.

No gas line put under the ground. It will have to wait.

It's Sunday With a Time Change

I am not sure about you but the dogs knew 6am was really 7am and they let me know for that solid hour off and on. So much for an extra hour of sleep. Poor Dennis had to be up for an extra hour.

We didn't get much of a gallery today as it got dark too early and Dennis forgot that dark was coming. He said blame it on him so I am. LOL
