16 Days Old

Small gallery today. The pups are truly starting to be aware of their environment. It is fascinating to watch but they are still sleeping a fair bit of time. That is how they grow and become strong. Ella is so preoccupied with Cinnamon's pups. It reminds me of Roxie and Spicy. heh

Be sure to check out the videos.

2 Weeks 1 Day Old

Now that their eyes are fully open, some of them are attempting to try to stand.

See the gallery.

I figure in a few days they will start getting serious about it.

Eyes and hearing open at the same time. If a loud noise occurs, you will notice they will react. they seem to have great coping skills as they recover quickly when there is a loud bang.

Be sure to check out the videos.

2 Weeks Old and Individual Shots

Not sure what happened but my entry for today didn't show up. hmmm Well let's try this again.

Here is the gallery. It contains 2 individual shots of each puppy.

Puppies are all over 1 pound now and all have their eyes open.

Be sure to check out the videos.

The pups are trying to get up on their legs. So it begins!

1 Day Short of 2 Weeks Old

Cinnamon is such a loving mom. It is endearing to watch. For 1st time moms, they took to it without hesitation and even want to care for each other's pups.

Here is the gallery.

The blog will be short tonight. No more eyes open. Perhaps tonight.

Be sure to check out the videos.

12 Days Old: 3 Eyes Open

3 have their eyes open. The brown actually had her eyes open last night just before I went to bed. The other 2 opened their eyes today. The 3 remaining pups have slits so I figure in a day or two all will have their eyes open.

See the gallery.

The pups are active and momma Cinnamon is very loving. For the 1st time moms - they are pretty spectacular.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Can't wait till they try to walk. :-)

11 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

Pups are all over 1lb - well this crew. Ellas is approx 3 ounces less. I have to put them together but I think Cinnamon's pups have a longer body.

I can't wait till their eyes open.

Be sure to check out the videos.

10 Days Old

Cinnamon is most often found feeding her pups sitting up. She found this comfort level herself and it seems to work well for her.

See the gallery.

Cinnamon and Ella nee a bath but we play the game of waiting till the pups are old enough to give me that window that it takes to wash the moms. We are not there YET. So we comb and the pups make tangles and we - well I try to ignore how they look. LOL

Pups are doing well.

Be sure to check out the videos.

9 Days Old

Over the last few days we have seen an increasing amount of pigment coming in on the pups. If you look closely, you will see their little noses filling in or completely filled in.

Mommas are still bleeding so you may see some stains here and there. This is normal and I continually change things out and wash my fool head off - or is that body. Moms stop this discharge at different timeframes. It is normal and nothing to worry about.

Here is the gallery.

In a day or two we will do their nails and I will try to get individual photos.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Side by side sibling... They are already in a routine. I truly can't wait till their eyes are open.

1 Week Old

The puppies are now 7 days old - 1 week. The 1st born is a solid tri. It will have apricot of some sort bleeding through. It will most likely have the colour under its tail and those famous different colour eyebrows.

Here is the gallery.

The pups are plump and fat. Cinnamon is forever doting and quite proud. It is delightful to watch.

Be sure to check out the videos.

I have to say all the pups are gorgeous and the boys - well rather handsome!

Day 6

These pups are 1 day short of a full week old. How did that happen? Cinnamon is an amazing mom. Today she had a puppy fussing so she tried cleaning him, rolling on his back, placing him under her to protect him. It was what every new mom goes through - why is baby crying. He started eating and he stopped fussing. The issue with Cinnamon's pups is they like to eat at different times so we are trying to get them eating at the same time so Cinnamon gets a break. Ella's pups do this sometimes but with Cinnamon having more pups, it can be problematic - not giving her downtime. I like the moms to have balance.

Here is the gallery.

As I am so good at making sure they are eating together today, that Cinnamon is laying out of her whelping box and cooling off.

Tomorrow a full week old - wow.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Day 5

Cinnamon is really doing well with her pups. I have never had a mom that didn't enjoy the experience but I also make sure they feel extra special for doing all this work. They get combed out, massages and extra hugs - well they normally get that but still they also get extra special food from steak to fish to all sorts of yum stuff.

Here is the gallery.

Sorry this blog is so short. All pups are gaining really well. This has just been a long night.

Be sure to check out the videos, here.

Day 4

Here is today's gallery.

Pups are all gaining well. Cinnamon is doing really well as a mom. She is attentive. As this is her first litter and Ella's, I am impressed.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Pups are strong as I caught one crawling over her back to get to the food.

Heading to Day 3

The pups all gained. Not as well as the night before but considering many lose or barely gain at this point, they are doing well. See Ella's blog to understand why. All pups in a 24 hour period gained more than 5/8oz to 7/8. So both litters are doing well. I hope Dennis manages to get enough sleep but the door bell keeps ringing. The dogs bark and well life...

Both moms have found sitting up and feeding pups works well for them. Yes, they still lay down but I find them often sittting up to give all the pups access.

I must admit I am still dragging and Nathan is not getting in a nap to play recovery either. This too shall pass.

Couple it with Leti being in heat, Kat and Truffie going crazy and a couple of dogs who non stop bark for their food - can someone buy me quality ear plugs that are soft. LOL I think we all need them. LOL How else can you sleep with ringing doorbells and dogs barking.

But for the 1st time neither mom jumps up for the door when people are at it. Bravo - mommys you get it!

Here is the gallery.

More later...

About 36 Hours Old

It's interesting. I expected Ella's pups to be like Fiona's at birth size 3 to 4 ounces but they were of size and only an ounce different than Cinnamon's pups.

Cinnamon's pups are gaining nicely where Ella's are gaining at the same rate. I rather enjoy that if it continues as when we have pups playing they will all be similar in size. No one is very small.

Cinnamon surely wants Ella's pups and visa versa. We did get presented from nice weights from all. When things calm down and moms trust, I will put the smallest from each litter and the largest so you can see the size differences. All 10 pups across the board are plump beings.

Cinnamon's bowels are improving. Between birthing and eating like they are starving, it seems to happen more than not. I am so glad as cleaning her bottom so much was fun when balancing Ella's pups coming into the world.

I think it would have been easier in some respect to have pups at the same time than 20 hours later as you enter the land of no sleep. I slept last night like a dead person and then kept waking up to check on pups with my ipad. Funny how that happens.

Approximately 15 Hours Old: More Photos to Gallery Added

Cinnamon is an amazing mom though just as new moms, she is yet to figure out how to negotiate pushing the pups into one place so she doesn't partially lay on them.

Less than a day old, they have all gained quite well. I may add this is highly unusual in such a short time frame but Cinnamon has an abundance of milk.

She is a proud momma! She indeed has a sea of browns. :-)

Here is a small gallery.

Puppies Are Coming

Click on Photo for Larger View1st is a girl, born at 458pm. She looks black but is indeed a brown sable with a white streak on her chest. She weighs 7-1/8oz 205g

Videos uploading as I can.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewSecond one was born at 528pm. It's a boy weighing in at 7-3/4oz 222g He is a brown and cream

Click on Photo for Larger ViewThird one born is a boy. He was born at 546pm. He weighed in at 7-5/8 218g. He is a lighter brown and white than his siblings - perhaps a sable.

Click on Photos for Larger View4th one born is a girl. She was born at 610pm. She is brown and cream. She weighs 7oz 199g

No issues with delivery. She's a mess but nothing a backend can't clean up after she is done. No bites to Nathan like Spicy used to do each pup. Sometimes you don't even know another popped out with the exception of the 1st where I was in the kitchen. Nathan outside and she yelped so I went running.

Click on Photo for Larger View5th born is a boy. Born at 703pm. Another brown and white who weighs 6-3/4oz 191g

Click on Photo for Larger ViewThe 6th one was born at 719pm. It's a brown sable girl. 184g.

Looks like we have 6 pups - all doing really well. Cinnamon is finally taking a short nap, which she needs after no sleep last night. Pups are absolutely gorgeous.

Gallery is here - some are messy. I take photos as they come and delivery is messy but also beautiful.

Hanging In

She rests, she nests, she rests but nothing new to report. Leti was driving her so crazy that she told her stay out of my xpen. I placed up a blanket to give her privacy and I am watching her on my ipad. I give up in laying out the towels neat and all.

At this point I hope its not overnight and if it is, Ella waits.

Average puppy delivered can be an hour or 2 between but they can come faster. Here's hoping.

Nesting But That's All

She kept me up all night nesting and she is doing the same this morning. We shall see how this progresses.

Here is a video.

Leti is in heat and she is trying to take over. Not sure what to do with Leti as she doesn't get - leave me alone.

I have now blocked a crate as Connamon was hiding in there. Not a place for her to have puppies.

When will that be? Could be anytime within 12-24 hours.

I am so tired.

Drop: No Change

They are both in the low 98s. Not seeing any other signs other than the drop. Going to be a long night. Glad I did Teddy tonight. I said should I, should I wait as he goes home tomorrow at noonish.

The craziness of puppies coming how you figure out what you need to do when - just in case.

All I know is have ipad - will be long night. I surely hope it's not at the same time.

They both had baths today but of course its raining.

---

Update she is napping and seems her mucous plug is gone but nothing else. She truly needs to sleep. I got an hour till the doorbell rang.
