Fun Times

Trigger would maul Ella every chance he got. He just LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her. Then she had a bath and not so much. What's that about? Let's see when she gets stinky again will he maul her again. I think Levon is downright jealous but that's okay. Trigger is in the thick of it playing.

I will try to get photos up later but Nathan's camera is having real serious issues. I think it is biting the dust so to speak. He loves the Canon T2i (old - don't sell new model) so I am earnestly trying to find a used one in great condition. He doesn't want to think. He just wants to click and that is a really great camera for that. I already have notes into Henry's used department but if you see one online, let me know. It's his birthday on the 1st so I am trying and Nathan never reads the blogs so I am safe posting about it. :-)

Looks like we are going to have a warm weekend. We are hoping to get the pool heated starting on Friday and that means no swimming till Monday. Oh well.

Hope you have a great holiday weekend. We wish we were in the pool. You know what they say about wishes...

I hear the daughter is gardening. She is pulling out my garden near the pool house and putting in veggies. Let's see if the rabbits get them. :-(

I am going to buy some slats for the bench and try to fix it. Handy I am not but I will try. I am also going to wash down all the walkways and sweep and assess the garden. That is between dogs, laundry and puppy feedings and outdoor adventures with the pups. Let's see what I get done. Maybe I will get my water features going in the back yard and my statues out. I know the cushions are a must. Any rain in sight?

So much to do, so little time.

Still looking for a dog ramp so I can utilize both decks. Now I am also looking for large blankets to use to have something comfie for the pups outdoors. So, if you are throwing old blankets out, let me know. I am also going to try to lattice the deck so the dogs can't get under the deck and bring in mud. Never did this type of thing before but I will muddle through it. I am also looking for gate with a door to block off the other side of the deck so the dogs can't get under the deck from the other side. So, if you see any of this online, shoot me the link, please. Can you tell I grow weary of washing dogs underneath and feet and floors? It is funny but oh so much work.

May it be sunny days from now on or at least till I get these projects done.

Clicks

Nathan was practicing with each of the dogs. Here he has Saffron's attention.

Then we had the pleasure of having Dexter visit us. Dexter is Leti's baby and she was over the moon happy to see him. It was wonderful.

If you are wondering why my blogs are so short well I have been grooming in-between puppy feedings. I have been playing catch up with mine here and there. That is what happens each litter. I get them done just before the pups arrive and then I have to go crazy getting them all done after the pups are sleeping long enough that I can fit baths in-between feedings. Plus I am doing others. So, blogs are short. Sorry. I so try.

Here's the gallery today.

We had planned on swimming this weekend if the weather cooperated but our pool heater needs a repair - joy not! Oh well.... it is what it is.

Got to do full groomings tomorrow so tomorrow may be short too.

6 loads of laundry today as pups learn to find the pad with our help. heh

Happy 5th Birthday

Exciting day! Cooper who is visiting celebrates his 5th birthday. He will get some steak tonight with his meal usually just given to the moms as they are feeding pups. We will see if we have some extra to grind up for the rest but Cooper will get more. :-)

Rain, Sun and Mud

We were outside and the rain cane fast and hard then the sun came out. The weather can't seem to make up its mind.

All I know is the floors are muddy and we had to gate off under the deck as my kitchen and halls and tv room was becoming a mud room. It was exceptionally bad today as they thought it was great fun to run under the deck, get dirty and the come in and get everything and I mean everything dirty. We had blankets all over the couches and guess what is getting washed now - dogs and blankets. Got to laugh.

Then it would dry out and life was good again. Here's today's gallery. Sorry I didn't take photos of the dirty dogs, floors and blankets but boy would you have laughed. I tend to think I should clean them vs. click.

Hoping tomorrow is dryer.

Conditioning

Not much of an update today as this was the crew all day long - muddy feet to wash non stop.

Jesse the collie is visiting and I will tell you it is great conditioning. George was not sure what this huge thing was. A few others was taken aback but now that the day has come and is almost gone, it's no biggie. Everyone is no longer reacting. It's been a hard day too as it is rainy so it's closer quarters to adjust than outdoors.

Of course Levon and Trigger know Jesse and didn't blink and eye. Interesting enough Trouble wasn't bothered.

Jazzy has been great. He loves to play with the ice cubes in the water dishes. He still looks cute with a wet face.

This is Kat's brother, Murphy.

The dogs had a ton of fun but wow have I been rinsing and cleaning all day. The floors I laughed at but they are getting washed just after the dogs are out for the last time tonight. Can we have less mud, please?

These photos were taken in the morning. Tomorrow you will see photos of the Coops, Levon and Trigger. He is having a love affair with Adele this time. It is so funny. He's romancing her in a huge way.

Thank you to Jane for the 3 blanket toys for the litters. Oh my gad are they nice. Thank you! They will find their way into the pen tomorrow when I do a change out of the blankets.

Faces Today

I am spent today but everyone is having a great time. I still have Murphy to bathe so it's been a long day and this blog will be short. Hope the bedroom is cold tonight so I get lots of dog snuggles. I need them.

Oh What a Day

Is the day bad luck or good luck. I guess it depends on your perspective but this is how my day went so far and it's just morning.

I woke up to loose bowels with Spice's pups (normal after mom is no longer on antibiotics from her c-section). It will resolve itself as it does. It's just bloody messy and always happens after mom is no longer on antibiotics. No one is losing and everyone is gaining. It's just lots of work.  9 pups is a lot to clean AND dry.

As it was night time and Dennis didn't want to wake anyone up he took wipes and wiped pups down but he must have missed some so I woke up to a change of blankets, washing each pup cause even if they didn't have loose stools they rolled in it. Such fun. I literally had to rinse out and scrub each blanket too before it went into the wash or it wouldn't come out.

Then I carried too many glasses that Dennis left in my office to the kitchen and one fell and broke.

The morning newspaper wasn't covered and was soaken wet.

If that wasn't enough Satch fell in the pool and I have to wash him but he's not going home till tomorrow so he was rinsed and dried and will be washed tomorrow. He seems to have delighted in the experience. It's cold in that pool as its not yet heated but he surely didn't mind. What posessed him, I don't know. This craziness is why we always are out with the dogs - always.

Then our son calls us to tell us our daughter in law thinks she is in labor and they are at the hospital in Las Vegas. She is 4.5 weeks too early (they were moving to a house out of a condo in 2 weeks) and they are now monitoring her to decide what to do.

The day has just begun.

How is your day going?

It's Been a Day

The Oz has had another amazing fun holiday. Have to laugh as Inula goes over the moon for him when he arrives. She does that about Ash and Grey as well. It must be a big dog thing.

Everyone else is having a blast but I didn't take photos today. Was too busy redoing pens, grooming amd well playing with the dogs etc. Sometimes you just have to participate than click.

2 Updates Today

The adult dogs LOVED the puppy. It was a riot to watch and he was rather curious too. It was a good walk about.

Here's a gallery today. Now I have to groom everyone. I have been so busy that it is now on my to do list. I like to get it done early but with Nathan at the doctors etc it didn't happen. See Jeannie's blog to see more photos of the pup outdoors.

Here's a gallery. Everyone is truly having fun!

Looking For

I am looking for a ramp that I can use outdoors. With the number of pups, I am looking at using 2 decks at times. If you see a used one somewhere, please, please let me know. Or if you have one, have cash will pay. :-)

Sneaking Moments of Warmth

Yes, even the moms get to catch some warm rays. Here is today's gallery. Little by little everyone gets a bath.

We may not be able to have the picnic this year. Yvonne and Alex have too much going on so we are looking to see if anyone has a yard we can use. It has to be fenced. We can't do it here as it is too small with the pool. We also clean up. We are a fun bunch. Let us know if you have a yard that works.

Also who is going to Woofstock this month? We are going on Saturday.

No Blog Day Of Sorts

Ms. Spice as a pup.... we at Talemaker want to wish all the moms out there with human and/or canine kids a wonderful Mother's Day.

I have to say we have incredible canine moms and dads out there that have Talemaker pups and I thank each and every one of you for being who you are.

Thanks to those that made my day special. Thanks goes to Anne Ko for making Roxie's special.

I would be remiss without mentioning that my canine moms are the absolute best. If they were not then it simply means their journey should be something other than motherhood. Not all mothers are meant to be moms and that includes humans too and that's okay.

To those that lost their moms they will remain in your heart. My mom is alive but does not know who I am due to Alzheimer's. But I have memories and they always remain as I hope yours do too. Life is interesting. It never gives us enough time. So treasure the moments and the memories.

Happy Mother's Day all! We will return to our usual updates tomorrow!

Such a Day

It's been a day. I had a day of hell but I got to see Miss Abigail and Bentley. That made my heart happy.

I didn't get my dogs groomed. The pool was opened and I was grooming (all day)  and Nathan was outdoors with the pool guys and the pups needed feeding then someone came over to show us their dog. Dennis was napping and the dogs were barking so bad that Dennis had to get up. Here I am juggling and Dennis didn't get enough sleep and it reminds me that I can't juggle as it truly is too hard and too crazy. Then after all of that (oh there was more but don't want to bore you)  the blogs had to be done. I was so stressed - think I still am.

But Tia dropped in and Mickey is here having fun. Levon and Trigger departed (sniff). We manage to make sure the dogs have a total fun fest. But I am tired - exhausted and it is now time to feed the pups. Dennis is back sleeping till 10pm and that means I get to do everything he normally does like change all the moms water bowls, wash the remaining water bowls, clean up pens, puppy pads and then crawl into bed late, I am sure as Dennis didn't get sufficient sleep with the chaos today. I will be so glad when it is the end of the month and Dennis is sleeping in his bed. It's like a domino effect. All it takes is something to throw it off kilter or a couple of things and well life gets interesting.

It's Mother's Day tomorrow. Hoping for a day that isn't like today other than my special times with the dogs. The rest can never darken my door again.

The Attack

Get a warm day, add a Nathan and you get an attack of the dogs.

What can I say. Wish the weather was lasting and so do the dogs.

Short Blog Today

Back to a puppy cut for Alvin. He has no ponytail at request of his mom but now he should be easier to care for especially with swimming.

Trouble also had her bath today for class. She's on a 1 week bath schedule as she likes to get too dirty. This is due to wanting a show coat on her. Normal is 2 to 3 weeks and sometimes a month depending on what you do between.

As we have class and I am seriously juggling, blogs across the board will be short.

Bath Day

Thought Nathan took some photos of Havoc but he didn't. He was black and I mean muddy black. I washed the pup with a product called 'Dirty Dog' and boy he needed it.

Here is the gallery.

Dogs have been having fun but they always manage to. Think the last 2 weeks is playing catch up on me. I am tired. I told Nathan for Mother's Day let me sleep and I want a Dairy Queen ice cream. It's been over a year since I had one. What a funny request - I know. Maybe a nap?

Hope the rest of you have a relaxing day planned. We all need our rest.

Overcast Day: Plus Dance Videos

Havoc and Tobias dropped in over night and Moms are able to celebrate Mother's day among other errands. I hope they have a blast as the duo is having one here.

Reggie departed. His Mom and Dad was able to move into their new place and Reggie gets to see his new surroundings. Hooray and then they no longer have to deal with house staging and getting out of their place to sell their house. I hope it sells quickly for them. I also hope he adjusts well to the new place.

Here is the gallery.

Doesn't matter that it is overcast or not. The dogs actually enjoy this weather the best. No rain but warm seems to be a great exercise motivator. Me, I looked at my garden and went into a state of panic. So much to do. How does one do it with all the rest. Glad the daughter is here. Maybe I will get some help.

I keep getting asked what I want to do for Mother's day. I suppose no work? hahahha Good food?? Maybe a movie - how decadent. We shall see.

Anyone going to Woofstock this year? We are going. It's the last weekend of the month and we will probably go on the Saturday. Hope to see you there too!

Bonus: Dance videos of Coco and Doozie Dancing.

Sun and Not

Logan loves the pup and especially the Trouble. Panda still connects with her and maybe they like her so much as she can be a tad opinionated. hahahaha

It's a tad quiet around here. I have a dog to groom/bathe/cut between feedings and after Nathan gets up from napping with the dogs. I swear I am not sure who enjoys this time more the dogs or Nathan. But today he is sick. He needs the nap. With our schedule (this will slow down) it often happens.

Here's the gallery.

Daisy and Charlie is now at home. It's quiter except for moms when people come to the door or Kat due to Inula. I surely hope Inula has a short heat.

I look at the garden and go oh my gad so much work. No time till July? Daughter asked what I want to do for Mother's Day. Have an easier day? Not cook, clean or do pups non stop? Sit outside if the weather is good and chill? Eat something good? I have to make her day good too somehow, someway as she deserves it.

What are you hoping for - moms?? Maybe you will get my creative juices flowing cause right about now, it's a dull haze.

Mighty Rainy

It's been raining and I have been brushing and combing. I sort of give up as the dogs come in looking like wet rags. It reminds me of me last night. I hadn't been able to get a shower in all day and last night I tooik one and went to bed with wet hair. My hair was interesting in the morning but I may do it again tonight. I felt like a wet dog but it surely cooled me off. hahaha

We did a lot of indoor play today. Fetching was one of the games and I found out Stone likes to win.

Here's the small gallery.

Also found out (well I knew) that Logan was not pleased with wet legs as it means brushing out. He wasn't the only one.

Plus I am still looking for baby comforters so if you see any for sale, please send the link my way.

I am also trying to find someone that can make me a contact ramp (agility) just a mini tiny one for the pups. Trouble wasn't crazy about the one at class so I want a mini one to expose the pups to it. I also want to do a wobble board. Let me know if you see any.

We are surviving. Moms bark each time someone comes. (poor Dennis as he sleeps during the day). We are doing a lot of no barks. Plus Inula being in heat throws a curve in everything. So I have her isolated with just gals. Heats are not fun. 2 more weeks and counting.

Oh and Mother's Day next week. When did that happen so fast. yikes. Remember doggie moms - you are moms too!
